Howdie and welcome to my 2024 winter run! The run should be finished by the end of january and since this is usually the time of the year when the mood swings hit the hardest, i want to grow some more indicaheavy stuff. So hopefully I'll have the perfect weed to fight off the grey winter vibes when they hit the hardest. Thats why choose to run KmintZ and GMOxZombie Kush from Ripper Seeds in this grow. I only heard good things about KmintZ and the GMOxZombie Kush was a freebie and sounds pretty stoney. So like a perfect "cozy sunday"-weed. The strains also seemed to be a good match because they should have a similar flower time and are both very different in (advertised) flavours. While the GMOxZombie Kush should be more grassy/lavender, the KmintZ should have more of the tropical flavors. At least it seems like that on paper. Somehow you gotta decide which beans to run next, right? So these are our two contenders for this run: 🌱🌱 GMO x Zombie Kush Indica dominant Indoor flowering 60 to 65 days GMO x Zombie kush is one of our most resinous cookie hybrids from our limited editions. Flowers of medium size but of great hardness with slightly purple or very dark tones. AND KMINTZ Indica dominant Indoor flowering 60 to 70 days The feeling this year is KmintZ. In this crossing of Zkittlez x Kush Mint we have improved the lack of weight in the flowers and enhancing the effect of the Zkittlez. 🌱🌱 I'm curious how it'll turn out and i'm pumped as always at the start of a run. For germination I soaked three beans each in water for 20 hours and planted them into the starters. I try to not let them dry out and let them chill in the tent with lights on at 20%. It got stable 23-24° and a humidity of 50-60%. When they pop i'll install the humidifier. I plan on running 4-5 plants this time. So if we hit a 66% germination rate we'll be golden, if its more we'll keep 5 plants max. Lets go 🤙🌱🌞🍀

Germination was 100% successfull! This is great news! GMO x ZK is a few hours faster than the KmintZ. When all have sprouted i repotted them into 1l pots. Before repotting again we'll throw out at least one plant. But i don't know which one yet. We'll see how they do and decide on the fly. I plan to use a 16l pot for their final home, thats why i can use 4-5 plants max for this run. Otherwise there'll be no room for equipment. I'll let them chill in that pots for two weeks before repotting. For now i keep on spraying them with PH'd water, keep the humidity as high as possible and try to maintain temps at around 24°. Happy growing 🌱🌞🍀

Soooo all of the seeds made it through their first official week of life. So all good! They made themself a nice temporary home and seem to do good so far. The GMOxZK is still ahead, but the KmintZ develop just fine. I don't do anything with them this week. Just spray them some water a few times a day and let them do their thing. I haven't decided which one to throw out, but i guess i let them go for a week and then do the repotting to their forever home. At the moment i think i'm gonna keep all of the KmintZ and throw one od the GMOxZK out. Reason is I totally fell in love with the "Radical Juice Auto" from my latest harvest. So I kinda want more of the fruity and tropical smells and KmintZ seems pretty promising in the taste departement. For my grows this year (since this one will be harvested in january) i guess my top three strains of 2024 are Chempie, Radical Juice and Lemon Haze. I branched out from my "sativa routine" and was really rewarded with funky new tastes and aromas. So i just continue that route and hope for new exciting discoveries! Happy growing and see you next week

plans for this week: I repotted five of the six plants into their forever home. They go into 16l pots filled with BioBizz Allmix and some mycos. I watered the pots with some ph'd water with some rootjuice, microbes and some Bio-Heaven to give the ladies some fat rich soil to dig their roots in. I keep the three KmintZ and throw away one of the GMO x Zombie Kushes. Bye bye little seedling! So the remaining five plants are now in their forever home (16l/5gal). We'll see soon how much of a transplant shock they got. This is gonna be the first time I use pots that "big". But because i had space to spare in my last runs, i think we want to see how much of a difference it'll make. Also in terms of tent climate. I'm very curious to find out! This week will be very exciting anyway, because if the ladies grow as i hope then we will be setting up a mainline at the end of this week! I want to use mainlining for this run, because i want to give them a longer veg and i guess its the most height efficient technique. Besides that we keep focussing on soil health and strengthening their root system. For setting up a mainline we want the plants to: - have 6 nodes (we will top down to the third node) - be healthy - have as big of a rootsystem we can get in the given time For achieving that, we want to touch them as rarely as possible and try to get the watering as good as we can. I try to water them every three days, so that they have plenty of time to dig for water and i'll work again with weighing them before every watering.

Start of week 4 and the five guys do pretty good. I didn't do anything with them besides watering twice this week. They are working on their seventh node at the moment which is more than in time. I don't plan to mainline them sooner than 10 days after transplanting, so they still got three days left. And thats also my main focus for the next week: Setting up the mainline. And until then, i want them to be as happy and comfortable as possible. And after the cutting they should also be as stressfree as possible for an optimal recovery from the stress. So its all about making them happy. I hope everything will be fine, but the girls look strong so i'm confident. Happy growing folks! 🌱🌞🍀

Here we are at week number 5! Three days ago i set up the mainline and removed everything from the plants except the third nodes and a pair of fanleafs. I decided to use mainlining because i think its a fun technique to use. And at the same time its very low maintainance. I did nothing the first three weeks, then i just cut most of it off and now i need to train them good until the flower. And thanks to the hopefully solid base they should be low maintainance during flower again. So we only got to work during veg and the rest of the grow should be way more relaxed. The plants reacted very differently to the mainlining. The GMO x Zombie Kush don't seem to care. They are just pushing growth. The KmintZ recover more slowly. They still make progress, but take more time. But the important thing is: Everyone is recovering so far and they seem to be healthy. Thats all i want. For this week i'll just let them chill and adjust LST when necessary. I plan to top the branches again at least once when the are on their fifth node.

Start of week 6 and probably the second last week of veg phase. I spontaniously changed my plan of action during the last week when i got a little bit too enthusiastic in the garden (i was really high). Anyways, i try to recreate my thought process for you guys. We shall take this opportunity to learn and make the best of it. 😁 So my original plan was to let the mainlined branches grow until they develop the fifth node, then too them to the third and remove growth on the second node. So we end up with four colas on each side to save some time. But thats not really splitting energy the right way because I think energy would be more evenly spread if we just top now two times. So we end up with the same amount of brances. And thats what i went for. My main thought was really the symetrical aspect which bothered me. At the start of last week we got two main colas thanks to the setting up of the mainline. During last week I topped these colas again so we have four colas. I let them recover from the second topping and then top a third time. But i'm gonna be away next weeek, so the girls have to survive on their own and I won't be able do do training next week. I also broke a few branches while training the plants so maybe they are quite happy to have some alone time during the next week. Anyway, i let them go next week and will then do the third topping. As soon as they've recovered i plan to let them go into flower with 8 tops on each plant (hopefully if none of the broken branches die). As you can see on the pictures i tried to fix anything broken with tape. And its quite a lot of tape now in the garden. 😂 But oh well. I hope its gonna be fine. So have a wonderful weekend and a great week you guys. See you next week! 🌱🌞🍀

Week number 7 and i'm back in the tent again! The plants did better without me, than when i'm around! 😂 They look lush and happy. We got two dead branches and two survivors. I'm really happy with how they do and i just cut the losses. Its fine and take the chance to see how the difference in yield will be. My next goal is the switch to flower. But i'll give them a few days to recover before the switch to give them some time to recover from the final topping. As soon as they recover, i'll switch to 12/12. Its not perfect, but more than good enough for now. 😊 Happy halloween and have a nice weekend!! See you at the start of flower! 🌱🌞🍀

Week 8 and i finally hit the switch. We lost a few branches along the way but thats how it goes. Still not the worst grow up to this point. Their thirst increased a lot this week and they started to stretch quite a bit. And i just let then go at this point and LST only when necessary. I hope it'll go well. Fingers crossed! 🌱🌞🍀

Wohooo we managed to get to the second week after the switch to 12:12. The plants did a pretty significant stretch and push a bit higher every day. I did some defoliation at the lower half of the plant, did some lst and tried some supercropping on the higher branches to level them out. I try to find a heaöthy balance between stress and rest for the plants. This is gonna be the last week of plant "manipulation". After this week i'll just let them go. But things are looking fine so far. Both strains grow different but fine. All the plants look healthy and there are no signs of infestations or sth. Seems good! Have a nice weekend and see you next week! Happy growing folks 🌱🌞🍀

Welcome to week 3 since the switch to 12/12! Things were looking good this week. I did some LST and tried some supercropping to even out the canopy. It did not work too well when i look at it. They drink every two days, about 1l a day at the moment. I defoliated the lowest part of the plants and removed about one third of all the growth. I also installed another fan for air circulation under the canopy and cranked up the lights. Aaaand I'm ready for the full flower and heavenly aromas. 😎😂 One of the GMOs has some slight rust at the top leafs. So i lowered the light intensity again for a bit. We'll see if it'll get worse or not. So far so good. We are well underway so far i guess. Lets hope for another good week. Have a nice weekend guys! See you next week! Happy growing 🌱🌞🍀

Week 11 is here and i did nothing to them all week. Just watering when they are light enough. The stretch is almost completely over, the plants grew just a few centimeters this week and the flower is now really starting to kick in. Although they did not grow in height, they put on some budmass compared to last week. At the moment the transition to flower seems to be unproblematic. One of the "GMO x Zombie Kush"-plants got a red hue last week, but that did not progress much. So i guess its nothing to worry about. All the other plants look good. I hope they don't make a last unexpected growth spurt because i don't have a lot of space left to work with. If they'd stay about this size it would be just perfect usage of the available space in the growbox. And I'm really keen on finding out how this would influence the final yield. So lets hope we get more of that smooth sailing! Have a lovely weekend and happy growing folks! See you next week at the three month mark of this run! 🌱🌞🍀

Week 12 and the ladies are in full flower. Such a wonderful time! Its going really smooth at the moment. The buds increase their size every day and what is not to love about that. One of the GMO x Zombie Kush is slightly discolored, but is looking healthy besides that. So i hope its pheno and not a major problem approaching. The other ones are looking really good and thriving. Up to this point it is one of my easiest runs i guess. Although i broke a lot of branches and only one plant got 8 colas as originally planned😂 But they have the ideal height for my tent size and are my "biggest" indoor plants so far. Really looking forward for the next weeks and hope the rest of flower will be as chill as the last few weeks. That would be awesome! So see you next week! Have a wonderful weekend and some good weed to toke on. Happy growing 🌱🌞🍀

Whoop whoop! We have officially arrived at week number six since the switch to 12:12 and things are still looking pretty solid and very promising. All of the plants are still looking lively and lush, they pushed budsize noticably during the last week and the smells are getting more intense. Its just nice and smooth at this stage and i love that i don't see any issues at the moment. So i guess we just keep on trucking! Have a very nice and snuggly weekend and see you next week! 🌱🌞🍀

Welcome to week 7 since the switch to 12/12 and we're officially in the final lap of this run! Last week has been good, the buds on all of the plants fattened up some more. Getting juicyyyy and i'm really worried about bud rot. 😂 But it is what it is and its a risk i'm willing to take! One of the GMO x Zombie Kush has this cool anthracite coloration. I love that look! The KmintZ got a dark purple hue going on and they are starting to look tasty as hell (as well). As things are i guess i'll harvest in the first week of the new year. Its not that far away, so i'll stop feeding them from now on and save some fertilizer while reducing the light intensity. We now enter the phase where i get impatient and ever day feels like forever 🙈🙈 But hey, lets hope there aren't any last minute issues ahead. And i just breathe through the last two weeks and feast my eyes on these wonderful fruits we've grown! Ah man this is always such a rewarding time.. Lets enjoy it as much as we can. So guys, thank you so much for visiting my diary. Have a nice christmas time and some chill moments with you're loved ones. If the heated arguments break out, remember to take some nice weed out for a winter stroll. 😊 And if you're not celebrating christmas: I hope you got some nice weed in your stash and enjoy the quiet days coming up. Have a nice, snuggly weekend and happy growing guys 🌱🌞🍀

Happy holidays to all of you guys! I hope you got a safe space, some nice weed and a peaceful mind. We arrived at week 8 since the switch to 12/12 and the girls are almost there. I found an empty seed-banana on one of the lowest branches on a KmintZ, but i guess thats fine. Sad that it hermed, but i think its too late for the seeds to develop properly. So i just ignore that as good as i can and focus on the good things. And there are so many good things inside that tent i can tell you. Man they smell tasty but sooo different. The KmintZ are dank, heavy and fruity. Just like trendy weed in the last few yeards should taste. And boy it smells loke topshelf stuff. Mouthwatering! The GMO x Zombie Kush is stinking up the tent with a pungent, peppery, herbal, sweet garlic madness. There is a lot going on with this strain but it is very complex and interesting. But its not the *sniffsniff* *inhale deeply*."oh boy this tastes so good"-kind of smell. Its that *sniffsni.. "JESUS, you are stinkin buddy!" kind of smell. If you know what i mean. Aaaanyway they don't get fed since a few days and are on a pure water fast for the rest of their lifes, so there is nothing else to do than playing the waiting game. I think this may be their last week. I plan on chopping them at the first weekend of the new year. That should be about peak harvest window. The trichs are almost all milky with a little amber. So guys, i guess we'll read us next year when i've cut down these beautiful plants. 🎆🚀 So hyped and somehow the best start to a new year for me. Have a chill and happy time floating between the years! Much love and happy growing 🌱🌞🍀

Happy new year guys! May this year be better than 2024 and may your grows be blessed with health, growth and beauty! I could not chop them this morning. In my mind it was a beautiful story to chop them on the first morning of a new year and i REALLY want to harvest these girls before any last minute problems come up. BUT reality is that they are really close, but not right where i want them to be. KmintZ is pretty spot on with about 2-3% Amber but still about 5% clear heads and the GMO x Zombie Kush is 2-3 days behind the KmintZ i'd say. So this is always the point where my opinion can switch very fast, but for today i let them be. I gave them another last watering and check again in two days. But at least they are in nice shape for some pretty pictures that i love to share with you guys. They look so tasty and i feel like a proud dad right now 😂 So see you for after the chop! This time for real! Probably... Have a wonderful start into 2025 and treat yourself good. Happy growing🌱🌞🍀

It was time for the chop, so i did and hanged them to dry. They put in alot of trichomematuring during these three extra days. The KmintZ has now about 10% amber trichs, rest all milky und the GMO x Zombie Kush is peak perfect i'd say. It was really worth the wait and for once i stayed strong and did not harvest too early! I'm really happy how this grow went and i guess it is my best run so far. I'm very curious about the yield, because i broke quite a few branches of my mainline. So for now we'll be drying and curing. And i'll update once all is cured and ready for a tester. I can't wait! What a way to begin the new year!
