Hello Readers! This is my first grow inside and I am very excited for the journey ahead! My state recently voted in favor of recreational marijuana so its time to start my grow. The Strain is Critical Cheese, I have my girls in a 32"X32"X63" grow tent that I bought from Amazon. Above the Girls I have a VIPARSPECTRA Reflector-Series 450W LED Grow Light that I also snagged from Amazon. My clones arrived today so I put them in the tent and started the 18/6 light cycle.

Transplanted from the solo cups around day 7 from getting the clones. The girls are now in 5 gal fabric pots, but are only using about 3-3.5 gal so i rolled the top over. The soil was pretty moist so I did not feel a need to water right away so I let them hang in the new soil for a day under the lights then gave them both a drink. I did not measure but I would say they both got a half gallon of filtered water. I started bending the plants over a few days in a row and then after about 3 days of it I started to tie them down. These girls are looking fantastic and healthy as far as I can tell. Very happy to report a good week. I also talk to these plants EVERY DAY, I touch them and move them around while I talk to them, about them! it may seem silly but Ive read it is good for plants, and I enjoy doing it... so why not?! =) tomorrow I am going to start playing music for them too, maybe 10 min a day. Ill be sure to turn off the LED for the next set of photos. Thanks for your patience as I learn the ropes. Happy growing!

we had a snow storm come through recently and lost power and heat for almost 3 days, to my surprise the girls survived it and bounced right back and healthy as all can be,

I believe Ive missed a couple weeks so I'm trying to correct that by making this week 8 which is what i believe it to be in these photos. I had a aphid problem so I sprayed some stuff I got from the local grow shop on the plants and all the bugs dropped dead within 24 hours. ill be doing another spray this coming week to get any of the babies that may have hatched that I didn't get the first round. It didn't seem to effect the plants at all

I flipped the bloom switch on as advised by another grower but that first day was to much for the girls and they suffered heat stress and fell almost completely over. I shut the Veg off after that 1st day and left it off for 3 days or so. I turned the Veg switch back on after letting the girls recover and perk back up and they seem to be OK with the extra light now. I'm unsure when I should switch over to flower...i read about the plant stretching and gaining twice its height but a lot of small tent grows Ive seen don't seem to get that extra long stretch. I'm running only 1 - 450 watt LED unit, does anyone have any advice ? netting added to open up the middle of the plant and to get the canopy uniform.

@NomNom Thank you, I was hoping they looked good to others even if they've been stunted a bit. Yes, the Bloom switch is off and I'm running just the Veg switched on. From what I had read it told me to only turn them both on when I go into flower. I am thinking I may switch to 12/12 this Sunday and turn both switches on. Next round I'll have to try it with both switches on. This is my first real grow so I'm constantly learning something new 😁 Thank you again

@Budisaurus, I think most people do it because lets face it Veg is boring. Flowering is the exciting part.

@NomNom, speaking of cheating, after my last response i realize my 1st post was 2 months ago hah so I have missed a couple of weeks...oops. Thanks again, I'm definitely going to give it a go with both switches on for the next grow from start to finish. I appreciate the tip.

@Budisaurus, If you were running auto flowers and wanted to try and keep them in Veg for longer to help them get a bit bigger before bloom then running the bloom switch off is helpful. With photoperiod plants the bloom switch on won't make them go to bloom, you just need to have 18+ hours of light a day. I still run blurples in my seedling and veg tent and I tried with and without the bloom switch on. The bloom switch on will help them grow bigger/faster because it's more light. You can leave it off, I just thought I'd let you know. Looks good, don't worry about the "stunted" a lot of people on here cheat their diary weeks and their plants are actually older then they say they are. You got a good little crop there keep it up.

Grow looks like it's coming along well, glad the power outage didn't result in badness for you. During Veg and in Soil the plants can handle more. During bloom and in hydro they react much quicker (badly) to stuff like power outages. BTW it looks like you have your "bloom" switch off on your Viparspectra. As long as you are running 18 hr's/day (as you say you are) turning on the bloom switch will help them grow bigger faster. With photoperiod plants and 18+hrs/day you can run the switch on and gain the benefit of the extra photons.
