Germination

We were very late for this year, but wanted to try our luck and were hoping for a good autumn while in flower phase. Germination of three Sensi Skunk Automatic directly in substrate at windowsill. This will be a very natural grow with not the best circumstances to show what is possible, even when not everything is perfect and super accurate. The plants have some hours direct sunlight in the morning on a small south/east balcony surrounded by taller houses. When seasons move forward and the sun stays lower, direct light will be much less in the morning. For afternoon they can fetch some direct sunlight on a west balcony. One of the plants will be in a garden where she can get sunlight almost all day and can stay save from rain under a small porch. It's definetely not ideal conditions for big buds and high THC levels. But neither we need huge amounts of buds nor do we really need high potency weed. We will do this for fun and to get some good weed which suits our taste and is free from any unliked stuff.

The third week and the plants are really beautiful we think. Again, it's a low level grow with very natural conditions so we are very fine with the results and the healthy looking plants .

Looks like the two skunk are some little different phenotypes. One is a little compact with a bigger head bud and wider leaves, which makes us think there is a little higher indica part in it. The weather was not great this week. It was very cold at night and it felt like the ladies are growing super slow. Unfortunately we got very little pictures this week, but the ladies got a small green house for rainy days and aginst cold nights. This really drives up humidity so we hope for light buds and no mold. And, this week we started the first pictures with a real camera instead of smartphone only. prepare for some nice shots in the long time :)

This week was better weather and the plants got some more sun. They liked it and the buds are way nicer now. We also did some shots with a macro lens and did some light experiments when photographing. Next week the weather should be getting worse again, but we hope there will be some more sunshine for the ladies.

So, week number eight. Think around four weeks to go. Hoping for some more sun, less rain and not so cold nights. Until now we are pleased with how the plants turned out with so little knowledge and effort, only love and optimism :)

Can somebody help me. I am very unsure if i should cut some of the bigger sun sails to provide smaller buds with more light? Maybe it's already too late? And i have read when growing automatics and outdoor, you should never cut bigger leaves. Any opinions?

Hey friend, in my opinion , the plant isn’t too dense, so that won’t block the light. But cutting the leaves might cause more harm than good. Leaves are usually trimmed only when the light can’t penetrate at all or when the humidity is too high good luck buddy

Unfortunately this week was a bit of a struggle. It was very wet and rainy and almost no sunshine in the last couple of days. At the Amnesia XXL we have spotted some mildew, so we carefully checked all other plants and thougt there might be some traces. Decided to remove some of the bigger leaves to reduce the risk of spreading out. And also checked out Leaf Coat and so far everything looks good (since six days ago). The plants handled the stress of cutting really well we think, but because of this and the weather there was almost no growth this week. Also, in our Royal Creamatic we have spotted two small spots of budrot we had to cut out. Both of the Skunk look really fine, and we give our best to give them three or four more weeks – they are also allowed to sleep in the flat with a venti on to reduce risk of mold. Hope for less rain and more sunshine to make it to the end without big loss. the garden Plant looks good and is around 15cm taller then the balcony skunks.

This week was a little better than the last one. There was some sunshine anyways, so we think we managed to get the plants at least one hour of direct sunlight each day. Because of the high humidity and sometimes really cold nights, we let them sleep inside sometime with a venti on. So far there is no mildew or budrot at any of the Sensi Skunk, so really happy about this. there is not much growth but they are super beautiful. Our plan ist to manage 1 or 2 more weeks and then it should be really fine :)

This week the weather is finally getting better after weeks of rain and grey sky! Yeay! We think the two ladies are almost ready to harvest … Starting to watch the trichomes closely now, cause we really want a low number of amber ones. Some of the bigger leafes have some amber trichomes, but the buds mostly are milky and very few clear. We think a few more days is possible, at least hoping so. UPDATE: so it's the end of the week and weather is already worse again, at least not too cold. Unfortunately we spotted some mildew or mold at one of the small buds of the small Sensi Skunk. Almost all trichomes are milky, so decided to harvest this plant today (77 days old). It was around 30g in wet buds, so we think under 10g when dried. Did totally forget to make some pictures of this harvest, but will make a lot of the other two Sensi skunks :) Also, yesterday returned the Sensi Skunk number 3 from the garden. This plant is way bigger than the balcony plants and looks really beautiful. But also spotted some very small traces of bud rot, so we decided to harvest (day 77) this one too. Have made some nice pictures of her. She brought 63,3g of wet bud which is absolutely awesome for us.

So, In the End of Week 11 we have harvested two of three Sensi Skunks. In the End of week 12 we harvested the last one (Sensi Skunk 2, day 83). In Total we had around 130g of trimmed wet buds from the three plants: – Sensi Skunk 1 30g wet buds – Sensi Skunk 2 40g wet buds – Sensi Skunk 3 63g wet buds Placed the trimmed buds in a dry net and dried them vor around 4-6 days before placing them in jars and ventilating them regularly. for now it seems to be around 25g in dry buds. Had hoped for a little more, but it was really bad weather so we think it's okay. smell is really nice! For next year, we have learned and will make things a little different. – will start way earlier in the year for more sunshine and better weather – pots were way to big, none of the plants needed so much space for their roots – next year will try 10l – maybe we will start different nutrient company. any suggestions? All around this was a very fun project! Loved how the plants looked and miss them already. The smell of the dry buds is already really nice and we are looking forward to test it. will update then!
