I started the germination process by soaking the seeds for 12 hours in water. After that, I transferred them onto a damp paper towel for 24 hours to allow them to sprout. Once the roots were visible, I placed them into the coco medium for further growth.
The first week of growing Black Muffin F1 from Sweet Seeds has gone smoothly. Three of the seedlings are looking really strong and are quite large for their age. One of them is a bit behind, but it’s catching up, and I’m optimistic about its progress. However, I’ve been having some issues maintaining the correct pH in the water reservoir. I’ve read that adding more pH down should help stabilize it. My light is set to 25% power, positioned 30 cm above the seedlings. Now, I will gradually start increasing the light intensity to 50%.
The second week is progressing rapidly. All three strong seedlings continue to grow very fast, showing great potential. The one that was lagging behind is still a bit slower but is definitely catching up. I’ve started gradually increasing the light intensity to 50%, and the plants are responding well to the changes.
The third week of vegetative growth is going smoothly. The plants are showing strong growth, with good bushiness and tight node spacing. They are developing well and filling out nicely. I plan to switch them to flowering once they occupy about half of the grow box. At this rate, I estimate that will happen in about a week. However, I might wait an additional week if I feel the plants could use more time to strengthen.
I’m continuing with LST this week, and the plants are responding well. I’m still considering giving them one more week of veg before making the switch to flowering. Three days before the transition, I’ll do some lollipopping to focus the energy on the top buds.
This week, I had an aphid invasion, luckily only on one plant and on the lower leaves near the substrate where moisture was collecting. I sprayed the plants with an organic oil-based solution, which caused some leaf burn. Additionally, the largest plant’s water hose got clogged, and for a few days it received less water. I initially mistook the drying of the young leaves for burn damage. Fortunately, I quickly realized the mistake and fixed it. Today, I removed a lot of leaves to expose the small buds, and I’m using a net to spread the canopy and fill the available space. In four days, I’ll do a light lollipopping to ensure all the tops get enough light. Apart from these issues, everything is going well. Next week, I’ll switch to flowering, as most of the grow box space will be occupied, and I’ll continue using the net to spread the plants further during the stretch.
The plants have now filled over half of the grow space, so I’ve switched to a 12/12 light cycle to begin flowering. During the stretch phase, I plan to use the remaining space to let the plants expand fully. I’ve also increased the light intensity from 75% to 100% to support stronger growth as they transition.
Everything is progressing well after second week after switching to 12/12. I’m using the net to spread the plants across the entire surface of the grow box, and it’s working effectively. The plants have started stretching, and I’m hopeful they will continue to stretch a bit more to maximize the space.
Tomorrow marks the end of the first week of flowering, and the buds are starting to swell nicely. Along the way, I’ve been performing defoliation to expose bud sites, and the plants have bounced back quickly each time. I’ve now shifted to a more targeted approach, removing only enough leaves to ensure optimal light penetration to the bud sites. I’ve also started feeding P/K to support bud development as they continue to grow and mature.
The second week of flowering has been very productive, with the buds getting noticeably bigger and more developed. I performed the final defoliation this week, ensuring the plants are well-ventilated and the bud sites receive maximum light. Everything is progressing as expected, and the flowers are showing great potential.
The third week of flowering has gone smoothly. The buds are starting to swell, and the grow box is becoming denser as the plants develop further. To avoid the risk of mold, I installed a dehumidifier in the lung room to keep humidity levels under control. The plants are looking healthy, and everything is progressing as planned.
The fourth week of flowering has been very productive, with the buds getting noticeably bigger and more developed. I performed the final defoliation this week, ensuring the plants are well-ventilated and the bud sites receive maximum light. Everything is progressing as expected, and the flowers are showing great potential.
