2 days away from the end of week 2. Experimented with some additional terpinator and ended up with a slight potassium burn I believe which is now being rectified. I have 2 Canuk Cookies currently and one is a clearly stronger pheno. Both look very similar though.
For my first grow, everything has gone excellent. I didnt get to fill out my journals how I would have liked too but I plan to go from start to finish with my new Dos-si-dos seeds.
3 out of 4 phenos have turned out beautiful. I was not a fan of 1 pure kush because it's very airy, has a crap structure, and the smell isnt delicious like the others. Smell is so pungent in the final weeks with my three favourites that it is bypassing my scrubber. I'm investing in some ONA for when I need the smell to disappear.
2 out of 4 phenos, 1 pure kush and 1 canuk cookies seemed to be able to take whatever ppm of nutrients I threw at it but the other two needed to be kept a little bit lower. Very happy with my grow so far!
Are humidity domes a good idea for seedlings? Usually, before using the dome, I had almost 100% germination and with the dome I'm losing 60% of my seeds to damping off, mold issues or sometimes seeds dont even sprout. Dome at 78f and 75% humidity under 2 2ft t5 6400k
Keep it simple , with a dome you have 60% of success and without 100% so don't think about it too long. Usually humidity domes are a good idea for the 1st week of the life of the plant as it is the time when she needs between 80/90% humidity to thrive well but if the excess of humidity can't get out of the dome you'll be at 100% and the humidity will become water and create a perfect environment for the mold/fungus 😊 don't use them
Obviously this grow diary is something of a write off. I didnt find this website until well after I had started so I just figured id make the next one count. I have already begun my Dos-si-dos diary and I believe it will be something to be proud of!
For my first indoor grow things went well but I'm just excited that theres lots of room for improvement and bigger better plants! I will put more info in comments tomorrow, I need sleep and it's taking forever to type for some reason!!!
Update: I have harvested my Nice pheno of Pure Kush that finished at exactly 7 weeks flower. I was expecting a 9 week as Canuk labelled it so im glad that i watch my trichomes near the end. Ive got a high zoom (120x) and a regular jewellers loupe to get a good look. My main issue with this grow and what im planning to work on heavily with my Dos-si-dos plants was my roots. I think my humidity was far too low when i started these plants and i didnt do two transplants like i should have, and i didnt use mychorizzae for my transplants. I think i ended up losing out on some size mainly because of that.
My Canuk Cookies #1 pheno was getting fed the exact same nutrients that my other plants were getting and it showed some kind of heavy excess or deficiency. I lowered the amount of total nutrients i was giving that plant but it didnt seem to fade so i ended up just forgetting about it and feeding it the same as i noticed it didnt seem to be affecting the buds in any way. Almost finished now and the buds look fantastic but i can tell that ive lost some size due to this issue as well. If anybody knows what the issue is please send me a message. I was almost positive that it was a potassium excess as this was one of the heaviest fed minerals from my nutrients.
All in all its been a good grow :) Everyday im learning so much and in the end that and enjoying myself are all that matter. If i can pull it off, I hope to be able to go back to school to complete a "horticultural technician" program and start pursuing my dream. If i could work with these plants everyday for the rest of my life i would be a very happy person. I could picture myself doing this everyday even 18 hours a day with a smile on my face.!
Final week of my first grow. Things went better than I had expected. Had some issues with my roots being way to small and unhealthy but I have learned from my mistakes so it wasnt for nothing!
Main thing this grow was lacking was yield and I also had the heavy nutrient excess that i had believed was potassium but was unable to correct properly because it was to late into flower
These buds have come out absolutely beautiful!! I only had the two phenos and it was my first indoor grow so I had some issues but I came out happy! I've got enough to keep me going so that I won't need to buy any until my next harvest and it's high quality.
The buds are large and extremely dense. The colors and definition are absolutely beautiful. I'm sure I can give some credit to advanced nutrients. People can say all they want about how expensive they are but the proof is in my buds. I have put an immense amount of thought and time into my grow so I'm definitely not saying it was blind luck and the nutes that gave me these buds, but it helped.
I had an issue with one of the phenos, for some reason it did not want to be fed! I think I slowed down growth quite a bit from feeding it to heavily. It also showed heavy signs of what I believe to be a potassium burn. The other plant was completely untouchable. I think i could have fed it anything. The one that had the nute burn grew tall with big node spacing and the other pheno grew very short with tiny interludes. The only plant space was bud space.
The smell coming off of these plants when I harvested was unbelievable!! They absolutely wreaked like heavy skunk. When I tried to put them in a jar to cure them too early it was way too pungent. I ended up drying the buds hanging for 7 days and on a screen for another 2 days in approximately 50% humidity.
All in all, I'm very happy with this plant. It was an easy grow and it showed some absolutely beautiful colors! Would recommend these seeds to anybody!
This was an excellent first strain to grow indoors! It was a beautiful plant to work with all the way through and is going to make me a happy customer for quite awhile.
I had two very separate phenos, 1 of which I liked much more than the other. The best one was nice and short, with tight internodes. Dense bud structure that showed it's colors early, first it got fat and dense and then it took on its purple colors and heavy trichome coverage. My favourite ended up finishing in 48 days flower!! The other grew tall with fat leaves and a loose bud structure. It still had a beautiful smell and it's going to get its job done but it wasnt quite up to par. It had some nice colors but I would not clone it. Finished in 63 days flower.
I left the nice pheno in for a little longer and had nice coverage of amber hairs. I personally love a good sleeping strain so leaving it in a bit longer to get some good CBN build up is not a loss for me! The others I took out right on time! I need something for the day.
I would definitely recommend this strain and i probably would have taken a clone had i thought to do it.
Has anybody heard of regular feminized seeds giving you autoflower? I'm confused about the way two of mine look, I haven't switched from 18/6 and everything's been good. My other four are fine. Picture is dosidos week 5
Hey J, so to answer your question, no, never heard of that, never seen that on this site either. The only way that could possibly happen is if the seeds were mis-packaged and autos were in a fem seed pack. Automatics are a genetic so it's not like getting regs instead of fems because the fem spray "missed" the seeds or something like that. See? but when I look at the pics, i cant really see the pistils, not really. Most likely it's just a "hard preflower", and the plant is just begging to be flipped lol. Take some clones and see for yourself ! Hope This helps ! 🚀
