#Edit. Little bit easier to use this site on my laptop vs phone. So, I'm growing in a (very) small tent. (centimeters) 50 x 50 x 120. Tent is inside a wardrobe, but the back of the wardrobe is open top and bottom, and against an exterior wall - so overheating does not seem to be an issue. Tent: TH Deluxe D600 Grow Tent Light: Spider Farmer SF 1000 LED Full Spectrum, Dimmable Function with Samsung LEDs Ventilation: 4 inch / 10cm Spider Farmer Exhaust with carbon filter, setup outside the tent (just an exhaust tube in the tent. Fan: Now with Spider Farmer 10w oscillating 24cm fan (sent back a Pro Breeze Mini Fan with Clip as it was insanely loud) Seeds bought directly from Royal Queen Seeds - pack of 3 Sherbet Queen and pack of 5 Quick One. Picked one of each at random and planted them directly in small 17cm diameter. 20cm height, plant pots - medium a mix of perlite, coco fiber and potting compost. A layer of expanded clay balls at the base of the pot for drainage and ventilation. Germinated after 3 days, although I realised I planted them far too deep - so on day 3 I scraped maybe 2cm of soil gently off the top until I could see the top curve of the cotyledon/stalk then left it. Seed showed itself properly the next day. As per prior entry - thought they were getting a bit long and stretchy, but the stalks were dark and quite thick - so maybe just first grower paranoia. Sherbet Queen is bigger than the Quick One after germination and also showed it's head a day earlier. Tent temperature over first 7 days is 22.5 Celsius day and about 20C at night. The average humidity is 55RH but for the first 4 days after germination, the plants were under half cut-off plastic cola bottles with a couple holes punched for ventilation to ensure higher humidity. Ventilation was turned on after day 4 at a very low rate (10% of power just for cycling the air in tent). Light was dialed at 50% power for first days and was turned up to 60% on day 4 after sprouting when second true leaves made their first appearance.

Wondering if this is too leggy after 3 days. Light on 50%, 45cm /18 inches from leaves. Stalk about 3cm, 1.5

looks fine in diary. The early cue is color of the stem. If it isn't white/pale then it's got plenty of light. Make sure the nodes spread out at least some small amount over next week or so. That will tell you if you are giving too much light. Early on they are obviously stacked on each other, but should see some spacing develop.

Considering LST for 1 or both plants. Should I bother or save risk it if I grow something taller (i have some fastbuds seeds I plan to grow next). Am considering LSTing the Sherbet as twice height already of Quick1. Also, have Ieft it too late to start. Stalks are pretty thick

You can use little LST if itโ€™s ur first time! I would not go all in. U have plenty to learn on the way. Start out small then improve ur next grows. Use lst for both. I suggest buying trellis net itโ€™s the best thing u can use. First start off LST small then go over to a net. Then in the future u can try to top ur plant and super cropping when u learner the first steps lst/net. Good luck my friend ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ฏ just dm me if you have some more questions

So, week 3 veg, plants have exploded in growth. Starting to see white hairs at the top of each branch. Should I switch to flowering nutrients, or give them another week of veg food? Thanks to all rellies by the way. Community here is super helpful, encouraging and friendly!

Hello- I, personally, would start tapering off on the veg nutrients. Your plants appear dark in color to me and show the possibility of a little nitrogen toxicity. Perhaps next week you can start tapering in flower nutrient amendments. Then after two weeks you'd be on primarily flower nutes. With the visible pre-flowers, she's getting ready for the switch. I say this primarily because the nutes I'm using now seem to be added to some degree just prior to flower. But I still haven't found the ideal balance. I don't see what nutes you are using on the diary.

Want to keep a rolling stock. Pondering when to plant the next seed. Would humidity be a risk to buds at their last few weeks if they share a space with a plant in full veg mode?

Yes, high humidity is a problem for a plant in flower or vege for that matter, but extra risk with flowers, since bud rot spreads fast and can ruin an entire grow. As long as you control RH% as you normal would/should, it'll be fine. Above 65% is to be avoided. It takes ~2 weeks before seedlings take up any mount of space. Buy a small 2nd light that can cover your seedling tray. You don't need reflective walls or a tent early on. Unless you use clones of the same plant all the time, the variables involved make perpetual gardens more wasteful and more expensive while reducing overall productivity. Overlapping is a better option more times than not. With minimal investment you can use a 20-30w light to handle seedlings through germination and initial growth before a transplant is needed. That's 15-20 days of overlap with virtually no cost. Don't need refelctive walls for a seedling. A countertop anywhere is fine. A small tent and 2nd smaller light can handle your entire vege phase, and your grow cycles are only as long as it takes to flower. As far as productivity is concerned, it'll blow a perpetual garden out of the water -- all other factors the same, like wattage used. (apples to apples comparison)

So, what to do about the lower bud sites? Should I cut them off? If so how many? Below the level of the net maybe? All of them below the net level? Also, should I defoliate. And should I stagger the trimming over a few days for recovery? Advice, as always, greatly appreciated!

High AbsoluteBudinner, You do not need to defoliate or cut away leaves. You only do this when there are too many leaves. This is not the case with your plants. And for buds, you only cut away really small buds thay will never develop into something usefull. This is also not the case with your plants. But you do got a huge nutrient lockout. Water till 20% runoff to prevent nutrient salts building up inside your soil. Make sure that you give the right pH and make sure that you do not overfeed. The nutrient value from your nutrient should be around EC 1.6 - 1.8 for your plants. This should solve the deficiency and will give you nice fat buds to harvest! Happy Growing Buddy! ๐Ÿ’š

Ph'ing to about 6. Adjusting the water with old school methods from my tomato grows. Alternating lemon juice and apple cider vinegar and measuring with litmus paper (I know, I know, but it's cheap)

So I chickened out on the LST. Stalks were super inflexible and have really thickened over last week or so - definitely candidates for snapping so I didn't risk it. Finding it slightly confusing, as almost everything I had read up to that point suggested that I should have really skinny stalks (My fan isn't running yet and my light is woefully underpowered by almost all comments on some other blogs, as I just have a 100W LED lamp (Spider Farmer SF1000). Leaves are looking OK, have some big, dark green, almost leathery fan leaves were starting to look like they were blocking light from some of the interesting looking shoots, but these shoots have quite rapidly over last day or two managed to make an appearance around the big fan leaves, I presume the really big dark green leaves are the energy creators for the plant right now, so not thinking about trimming these out for now. Will post some pics with tomorrow's Week 3 diary update. Really can't believe how much these little devils grow in a week!
