Week has gone fast and they're both bushing out a little.
Smell has got very warm and fruity. Will be connecting the carbon filter today.
Growth seems strong, the stalks have gotten quick thick already..
Given these are supposed to both be short fast autoflowers, am considering if I risk LST for either of them (or maybe just the Sherbet Queen as it is already looking a good bit taller and more vigorous than the Quick One.
Ideally Id be able to keep them both at same height for lighting.
Node spacing on the plants are about 1 cm. Lights at full power since 5 days ago.
Watering each every 3 to 4 days with 250ml water at about ph6.
Will up from today to 500ml every 3 to 4 days as they sucked the moisture out of the pots to dry today.
Am giving nutrients every other water at the low end of the recommended dose. Will go full power from the end of this week I
looks fine in diary. The early cue is color of the stem. If it isn't white/pale then it's got plenty of light.
Make sure the nodes spread out at least some small amount over next week or so. That will tell you if you are giving too much light. Early on they are obviously stacked on each other, but should see some spacing develop.
Considering LST for 1 or both plants.
Should I bother or save risk it if I grow something taller (i have some fastbuds seeds I plan to grow next).
Am considering LSTing the Sherbet as twice height already of Quick1.
Also, have Ieft it too late to start. Stalks are pretty thick
You can use little LST if itโs ur first time! I would not go all in. U have plenty to learn on the way. Start out small then improve ur next grows.
Use lst for both. I suggest buying trellis net itโs the best thing u can use. First start off LST small then go over to a net. Then in the future u can try to top ur plant and super cropping when u learner the first steps lst/net.
Good luck my friend ๐๐ผ๐ฏ just dm me if you have some more questions
So, week 3 veg, plants have exploded in growth.
Starting to see white hairs at the top of each branch.
Should I switch to flowering nutrients, or give them another week of veg food?
Thanks to all rellies by the way. Community here is super helpful, encouraging and friendly!
Hello-
I, personally, would start tapering off on the veg nutrients. Your plants appear dark in color to me and show the possibility of a little nitrogen toxicity. Perhaps next week you can start tapering in flower nutrient amendments.
Then after two weeks you'd be on primarily flower nutes. With the visible pre-flowers, she's getting ready for the switch.
I say this primarily because the nutes I'm using now seem to be added to some degree just prior to flower. But I still haven't found the ideal balance. I don't see what nutes you are using on the diary.
Ph'ing to about 6.
Adjusting the water with old school methods from my tomato grows. Alternating lemon juice and apple cider vinegar and measuring with litmus paper (I know, I know, but it's cheap)
So I chickened out on the LST. Stalks were super inflexible and have really thickened over last week or so - definitely candidates for snapping so I didn't risk it.
Finding it slightly confusing, as almost everything I had read up to that point suggested that I should have really skinny stalks (My fan isn't running yet and my light is woefully underpowered by almost all comments on some other blogs, as I just have a 100W LED lamp (Spider Farmer SF1000).
Leaves are looking OK, have some big, dark green, almost leathery fan leaves were starting to look like they were blocking light from some of the interesting looking shoots, but these shoots have quite rapidly over last day or two managed to make an appearance around the big fan leaves, I presume the really big dark green leaves are the energy creators for the plant right now, so not thinking about trimming these out for now. Will post some pics with tomorrow's Week 3 diary update.
Really can't believe how much these little devils grow in a week!
