For this cycle i chose to try with 4 30L pots, using the main lines technique, aiming for 3 tops.
I chose two varieties from Sensi Seed, a new one and an already made one (skunk).
From Barney's i took a Gelato and Girl Scout Cookies.
For my little experience the Green house has some good varieties but too dissimilar from each other in terms of results.
Let's see who comes out better between these two 😁.
The girls are growing well!
The Girl Scout is clearly the most advanced, I have already topped her and prepared the pot to start LST in 3-5 days.
Blue Gelato is growing well too, tomorrow or at most in 2 days I will top her.
Skunk and the Black are a little behind but I am confident that within the week I will be able to top them too.
Alf Week:
Each plant has been topped.
Blackberry and the skunk were the last, the first has asymmetry of growth on the two sides of the plant, I hope that after the top it can homogenize;
the second seems symmetrical but has a lighter color than the others.
The two Barneys go faster and have not suffered at all from pruning.
End Week:
Even the last plants I topped responded well, I managed to top the Girl Scout.
Cookies for the second time, tomorrow I should be able to top the Blue Gelato for the second time too.
this week went very well, only the Blackberry had some problems...
My carelessness.
I have to say that the plant continues to be asymmetrical, one part seems to develop less and the leaves on that side show brown spots, I tried to raise the pH to see if anything changed but only on that side it seems to suffer, the others don't have this problem.
During the top and LST I broke a bud, I decided to raise the top to the second node so as not to lose a branch, unfortunately when tying a bud a few days later I forced it and it almost broke off completely..
Now I will wait 3-4 days to see if I can do the third top on the Black barry too, otherwise it will flower with only 4 branches.
The other plants have already had 3 tops, I aim to create 16 branches for each.
The skunk is slightly behind but is recovering.
the two barney's are at the fourth topping, the Skunk will follow them on Monday. I'm thinking of stretching up to 32 tops, this should be possible in a week for these 3 plants. the Blackbarry has 6 healthy tops plus one almost completely cut, for now it seems to be holding up but it has a very slow growth, I think in a week maximum to cut it and leave the plant like this until flowering.
Blackberry has definitely recovered, it has 7 tops. The two Barney's and the Skunk have 30-32 tops , one or two tops broke with LST but overall I'm satisfied. Now I think I'll wait 2-3 weeks before sending them into flowering
I put the net in the middle of the week, today I did defoliation on the skunk, on the girl scout and the blackberry, tomorrow or in two days I will also move on to the Gelato, it did not seem ready yet. the intention is to have everything clean right away under the net. On the girl scout I also removed the tops of the first node as well as the leaves because they were too low, I left them on the skunk because it tends to stretch more. since it is the first time I try these combined techniques I do not know exactly when to send them into flowering, I will try to condition them for another two weeks occupying as much surface as possible and then evaluate whether to change phototype
After the last pruning the plants responded well, the space is already at the limit, I decided to start flowering.
The Blackberry seems healthy finally, I just have to select the branches to keep.
The Skunk is the one that has expanded the most
In the first week of flowering I completed the removal of the shoots of the first node and removed the leaves of the second node. On Sunday I will do the last pruning and defoliation and then let them take their course
The weeks go by, the buds get thicker… at least once a week I have to defoliate to let the light pass through.
I'm curious to see the final harvest, I can't quantify a possible yield…
This will determine how to set up the next cycle.
A new tenant has joined our friends
I think the work done in the vegetative phase is paying off expectations, there is really little to do to keep the plants with the Main Lines in the flowering phase. They seem lush and every day I can appreciate small changes, slowly they begin to take on different colors based on the variety. The new tenant seems to like the environmental conditions
The long wait slowly becomes fragrant and colored..
The Girl Scout Cookies has an impressive smell, sweet and fruity, the others have less smell.
All the buds are starting to color and take volume
