My third grow and my first attempt at photos. For a friend, I planted two each of (anonymous and who knows how old) White Widow and a Gold Leaf seeds into Rapid Rooters on 9/26. Only one of the WW sprouted, on 9/30, and neither of the GLs. I tried germinating another three GLs using the paper towel method and got one to sprout on 10/4, so the little gal on the left is 5 days younger than her sister. My intent is to grow these out in these small pots and then to replant in 5 gallon pots a week or so prior to flipping for flowering. My grow media for the first set of "veg" pots is my own mix of pretty generic coco (well buffered!), perlite, worm castings, Azomite and 444 time release fertilizer. When I transplant to 5 gallon pots I'll add higher P fertilizer. That's the plan, anyway. But I've already learned that these ladies always have minds of their own! 😄

WW at 17 days from sprout, GL 13 days. Both have been slowly chugging along at about 16 DLI with every other day or so watering. Next week I'll up the light schedule and probably start some LST with WW.

Day 25 from sprout for WW, day 21 for her tiny GL friend. I was worried about GL and she still may not make it but she seems to be fighting so I'll stick with her for now to see what happens. I topped WW on her day 21 and she seems to have recovered nicely.

Day 32 from sprout for WW, day 28 for GL. So I guess both plants are as of now officially out of seedling stage and into veg. GL is now looking healthy, so much so that I topped her earlier today. WW is looking good too. I decided to double top her this week as well. Hope I didn't go too far but as of now she looks fine. Still learning when and when not to water. In the past I think I've erred on the side of too much. In this grow I'm trying to hold off until the plants tell me they're in need of water. So far, I've only needed to water about every 3 days. This week was the first time I've seen either plant droop (WW) from thirst.

Plants are in week 6 since sprout. I repotted into 3 gallon fabric pots this week and was surprised at how root bound WW was. She had been showing some signs of stress and this was likely the cause so I'm happy I decided to repot when I did. GL is looking quite happy in new soil.

We're in week 7 from sprout and everything is looking good. I'm trying out the self watering pots for the first time. The plants are getting large and I only have six feet of height in my tent so I'll likely flip to flower next week.

We're actually in week 8 from sprout or 51 days for the older of the two, WW on the right. GL is 4 days younger so still in her seventh week. I'm loving these self watering pots from AC Infinity and judging by how healthy they look the plants seem to love 'em too. I haven't done much with these two other than topping (WW 5 tops, GL just the 1) and removed a few yellowing leaves. And I did have to prop up GL when she was a scrawny seedling but look at her now! A lot of growers seem to think this is the best time to lollipop, which I've done during my two previous grows, but I decided since these are the first photos I've grown I'll just leave 'em alone for now to see how they grow out naturally, though after being beheaded. Might decide to strip 'em down later, we'll see. I have the scrog net up in preparation for flowering. Somebody's advice was to learn to listen to your plants. This morning, the girls were telling me it's time, so the flip starts today.

At the end of the first week of flower and the plants are stretching up into the SCROG net. Started clearing out some of the lower growth and raised the light level to 60%. These plants look much healthier at this stage than in either of my first two grows and I'm not quite sure why that is. I did take care in preparing the coco this time, buffering twice, and I noticed that the plants responded really well to being transplanted to larger containers (and new soil). Also, I've been paying more attention to PH this grow as my tap water is too alkaline. And the self watering pots are probably helping as well.

End of week 2 of flower. Some nice flowers are growing on both plants and they seem to be loving the self watering pots. It's been a month since I transplanted into the 3 gallon pots so I'm now adding liquid nutes to the water, including a bloom booster. GL is only 4 days younger than WW but GL is drinking far more than WW.

End of week 3 of flower. They're drinking about 1/2 gallon per day via the self watering pots. Not a sign of stress on either plant, in fact both appear very healthy and are filling out the bud sites nicely. Nutrient-wise, I'm following a feed, water, water schedule with all nutrients coming by way of the wicking. On "water only" days I am adding maybe a 1/4 nutrient solution, just to keep some level of nutrients always available via wicking. My biggest worry at this point is myself. I want to tinker but I'm learning that the more you bother 'em the higher the likelihood you're gonna harm 'em. Hope I can just leave these plants alone long enough for them to do their natural thing.

Week four of flowering is in the bag. Both ladies seem happy and I'm doing my best to just leave 'em alone. Bud pictured is on the GL plant, exactly 4 weeks from flip.

Plants are five weeks into flowering and the buds are starting to look sticky. Leaves are starting to yellow, especially on WW. From this point through week six I'll be feeding a heavy dose of liquid fertilizer each time I fill the pots, which is roughly every 3 days. I gave them both a pretty heavy defoliation last week.

Seven weeks from flip. Judging by the yellowing and dying fan leaves the plants appear to have been moving mobile nutrients from the fan leaves for some time now. Lights are at max. I started flushing in preparation for harvest in the next few weeks.

Final yield was 66 grams of bud and 12 grams of larf/trim, a bit disappointing. I probably harvested early because I started flushing too early. Next run I'll maintain nutrients into weeks 7 and 8 because I'm sure I could have increased yield. The plant appeared to almost stop growing completely once I began the flush. Probably shouldn't flush at all using the medium I am (coco, perlite, worm castings, Dr. Earth time release). Really enjoyed growing photos for the first time.
