Germination

GeekWeed 13.10. The seeds were soaked in water for 24 hours. 14.10. Then the seeds were placed in 7x7 pots filled with seedling soil. The soil was moistened with water and placed in the covered seedling box. The seedling box is illuminated with 2x SanLight Flex10. Temperature 25°C 85-90%H. 16.10. The first seedlings are starting to rise. Seedlings were watered with 4ml of water each. 17.10. Mint Jelly isn't coming up. I probably made the substrate too wet. Watered more seeds. 19.10. All seeds have germinated. We have 4 seedlings.

GeekWeed 29.10. Transplanted seedlings into 2L pots. The 7x7 pots weren't well-rooted yet. Should have waited a few more days. Sprinkled planting holes with mycorrhiza. Lightly watered. 32L substrate with a 14-day maturation time: 37% LightMix 20% Coco 8% Pumice 15% Worm humus 10% Rice husks 10% BioChar 0.66L Alfalfa 1.3L Insect frass 1.3L Rock dust 750g Amendments 100g BioGrow 3g/L 2.5g Enhancer 2.5L RO water The plants are visibly happy in the substrate. 01.11. The substrate is actually still moist enough. Since I won't be on-site for the next few days, I still watered a very small amount. 06.11. The substrate is still moist enough and wonderfully infused with mycorrhiza :-) !!! Added 3rd FlexLight 07.11. Added 4th FlexLight and watered 100-200ml.

GeekWeed The substrate was kept evenly moist. The light was increased from 310 µmol to 470 µmol over the week. The plants have grown nicely, and the first signs of flowering are visible.

GeekWeed The buds are forming. This week I added 20g of organic bloom fertilizer per plant as a top dressing and watered once with Green Power fertilizer (5ml/l). I generally take the lower dosage recommendation since my substrate is already well-fertilized.

GeekWeed I watered once with Green Power 8ml/l. Otherwise, just with water. So far, everything has been too perfect, so now I have the challenge of dealing with a starting infestation of spider mites. Beneficial insects are ordered and hopefully will arrive soon.

GeekWeed So the Durban Poison and the Mint Jelley are developing very nice flowers. The Dream Queen and Jelley Donutz are a bit more reserved, although the Dream Queen has had an insane stretch. The predatory mites seem to be doing their job. There are still a few adult spider mites visible, but no eggs or nymphs. I will release beneficials again next week. This week, I kept the temperature high (up to 26°C) and will now slowly lower it.

GeekWeed This week, I released another army of predatory mites. In the meantime, there are almost no vital spider mites to be found. Watering is done about every 2 days with soft water (125ppm, pH 6.8). The substrate is pre-fertilized with a small amount of Greenhouse BioBloom. Additionally, I fertilize with a reduced dose of Green Power, including the corresponding Phosphor Boost. Gradually, I am removing the fan leaves that shade the flowers.

GeekWeed The buds are developing wonderfully and getting thicker. The smell is definitely increasing in intensity. At the beginning of the week, I removed some shading fan leaves. I wasn't around for the rest of the week and had to rely on the automatic control.
