BeanswithPork 60 days from seed. After taking this picture I moved it to the flowering tent so next week should have some visible stretch. I elected not to defoliate/lollipop at this point, thus far I have only tied the main stem and selectively cut a handful of fan leaves.

BeanswithPork 68 days from seed, one week since the 12/12 flowering shift. It has shown some stretch and the undergrowth is quite bushy, I am considering defoliating underneath after two weeks of flower.

BeanswithPork Day 74 from seed. I did not allow the plant to get very large in the vegetative state, but I am happy with the girth it has gained in stretch despite the colder conditions. My previous experience with Sour Jack in my current grow conditions would suggest it will take a bit before buds get triggered to grow.

BeanswithPork Day 80 from seed. Three weeks of 12/12 flowering. I have been tinkering with all my grows, and moved the flowering plants closer to the light to increase temperature and maximize intensity. The Sour Jack is still far enough away I am not concerned. It exhibited a good amount of stretch in the third week of flowering and it is starting to form bud sites. I did some minimal defoliation under the canopy to increase airflow and allow me to water it more easily.

BeanswithPork Day 88 from seed, four weeks of 12/12 flowering. Early in the week I fed with 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom. Slight discoloration on some lower leaves, nothing major. The buds are clearly forming.

BeanswithPork Day 96 from seed. The buds are lookimg great. The resin is starting to really smell like fuel/diesel. After last week I fed some Wholesome Brand organic blackstrap molasses. No evidence really, just buying into common online anecdotes. I went with the typical measurement found online and found I got what I think is some iron toxicity burn. Nothing major.

BeanswithPork Day 102 from seed. 6 weeks of flowering complete. Five weeks left to go. This plant looks great, just like the other plants of the same strain I grew. I fed more 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom today, so I will be monitoring for signs of nute burn.

BeanswithPork Day 110 from seed. This is week 7 of flowering. Crop King seeds says 9 weeks of flower, I’ve gone 11 weeks with this strain. This debate is going on with other growers as well. Its clear this plant is at the limit of some nutrients, I had slight tip burn from the Alaskan Morbloom last week, and some more signs of excess from molasses. I dialed back the dose and still got some burn/dying lower leaves. That being said I could hypothetically be two weeks from finishing and so yellowing/dying lower leaves would be expected. Should I harvest in two weeks? Four weeks? Will I even make four weeks? The resin is very strong smelling of diesel. Absolutely intoxicating.

Grow Questions
BeanswithPork
BeanswithPorkstarted grow question 6y ago
Is it possible for plants of the same strain/seed distributor, same environment, to finish at two different times - two weeks apart? (both timelines being the reccommended or longer) i.e. Should I go the prescribed 9 weeks of flower or can I even make my previous 11 weeks?

hey there BwP, yeah so with every strain you'll find different "phenotypes" aka different "types" of plant, shorter, longer, bushier less bushy, that sort of thing. So to answer your question, yeah it's very possible. About your second question about the flower time, you should always do what the plant says not what the breeder says. Often times the breeder will give a flowering time a couple weeks or more shorter than the actual flowering time you'll experience. The best way to check if your plant is ready to harvest is to check the trichomes with a magnifier or use the pistil method (less precise!). Hope this helps ! 🚀

BeanswithPork Day 117 from seed, 8 weeks of flowering complete. 1-3 weeks left depending on the plant and my patience. Keeping in mind that MaxPointy gave me the Laughing Buddha plant, this Sour Jack is the best plant that I have personally grown start to finish. A nice flush has this thing looking really good.

BeanswithPork Day 123 from seed, 9 weeks of flowering completed. This is the prescribed flowering window by Crop King. It still seems like the buds are more massive each day. I may balk at harvesting this weekend and wait longer, we shall see. I’ve just been giving water.

It grew as I expected, I flowered this plant for nine weeks. The resin had a fantastic fuel aroma. Somewhat sensitive to nutrients, would show signs before other strains. I really enjoy the Sour Diesel aspects more than the Jack Herer aspects. I would purchase this strain again.

BeanswithPork I got positive reviews the last time I harvested and shared this strain. I will be purchasing more seeds eventually. I’d like to transplant to a larger pot and spend longer in the veg. state next time. Love the fuel smell. I overdried a bit. Recommended strain.

Seeded in small peat pot with Sunshine Soil #4, transplanted 12 days after emergence. Transplanted into medium mix of Sunshine Soil #4, sheep manure, worm castings. Top dressed with worm castings and bonemeal partway through veg.

Hi@@@BeanswithPork, Easy Answer yes it is possible!!. That is Mother Nature... isnt it great those varieties=?. I most time grow 3 plants at once, same strain etc,, and they are always different, there is always an Alpha and some followers^^And some productprescriptions are just signpots.... you can look but dont have to believe them, its always different to the description ( never had a grow like " Plan") You got to remember, that the seeds are from different plants, ive tried to pick the most similar seeds to have similar Plants, sometimes it works, but most times not I appreciate it to see the Varietys of the Strain... Happy growing They look amazing

you have N-lockout, you can tell from the burnt tips and yellowing of the lower leaves even though you're feeding N. hope this helps !

@@BeanswithPork, you're right basically !

@@BeanswithPork, woooops, yeah you're right it's not lockout it's deficiency , but to answer your question, yes: different nutrients kind of regulate eachother especially micro nutrients and the ratio is particularly important for example NPK ratios.

BeanswithPorkcommented6y ago
@CRiSPrGrow, interesting. Does oversaturating nitrogen usually cause nitrogen lock-out, or is it other nutrient excesses/imbalances that can cause nitrogen lockout? The only nitrogen via liquid food the plant has gotten since veg would be in the blackstrap molasses. In other words is this the indication to cut back on the molasses, or could it be salts/imbalances from the 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom as well?

@@BeanswithPork,That was purely deducted through my experience, but correctly flushed plants will develope stronger aroma,on the other hand overfeeded plants tend to nothing(they also taste like #~#@~€|@)

@MadameMary, thanks for the information. Any other factors that could lead to low aromas? Before legalization, aroma was the common fear for people but I have found that as overblown with so few plants growing.
MadameMary
MadameMarycommented6y ago
@@BeanswithPork,low humidity and temperatures normally enhances the aroma, the hot and the mold are the facts who can destroy your terpenes.
