This week after transplanting, I planted companion plants, white and dark clover. It brings microorganism to the soil. They fix nitrogen into the soil and helps your plant assimilate it better. It also structure the soil and save watering. It's my first time trying that method indoor.
#living soil
This week I separated in 2 tents the 6 big plants.
1 La Bomba in a 3x3 and 4 La Bomba + 1 Ayahuasca Purple (Barney's) in the 4x4.
I decided to try a new technique mounting a bamboo SCROG instead of setting up a SCROG with a net as I always did before. I was tired of getting myself bended in many uncomfortable position when I worked in the tent. Net's are nice and looking pretty, but... if you have many plants like the Key Lime Pie Grow you can find in my diaries... It's unmanageable to stay perfectly clean. I amend manually with organic inputs all the pots. I water with OCT once every week... So it quickly becomes a mess in there.
Also bamboo are looking really pretty and natural and there is many points of attach for the strong stems of your plants. I fix them between them with zip ties. It's so easy and you can get creative and effective by placing bamboo sticks exactly how you want it to train your plant. I also read that every plants that are managed with bamboo sticks and solidly attached to it, grows stronger as they receive effective support even in case of strong winds. Let me know if I'm wrong ?
The only annoying thing with the bamboo tech when moving the plants around are the Blumat which are in place. So what I do is to set my Blumat system with some spare length between each pots. That way, it is not that limited and I get some margin when I wanna clean around and under pots or close check them.
The tent is packed ! Still one week and a few days in the dark to go.
It sounds like the weight factor gets in the game
When your goal is to target quality all along your grow, monitoring carefully and anticipating trouble shootings, you mainly end up with some good weight too ;-)
It's all about passion, craft and patience.
I let the all 5 plants (+ Ayahuasca Purple) in the dark for two days and stopped the Blumat dripping in order to induce the drying process / If you do that, as it's dark and colder for 2 days, you should try to get as low humidity as possible in the room. I was at 35% the all time with a de-humidifier de-humidifying the room, not the tent.
La Bomba greatly holds its name !
Despite, 4 seeds germinated on 5 with a real safe method (the humid ziplock one). Loosing seeds is part of the game tho...
4 seeds left, 4 different phenos with real things on their own making each of them unique and interesting.
1 pheno is gassy, citrusy stretch a lot, big internodal space. tall, buds like arrows
1 pheno is on the Haze side with berries undertones Doesn't stretch much. Heavy chunky buds. Real sticky And quite hazy.
1 pheno is pungent, like burn tires, dead rat, sticky as hell. You'll need this non sticky grinder man ! Stretch a lot (x3?), Huge internodal space, making trimming easy. But you'll need some support as soon as it stretches as the branches are a little weak during the first weeks of the 12/12 switch.
1 pheno is very sweet, skunky and earthy, it actually smells like Red Bull a true delight smoke before bed !! Mid stretch, super sticky and strong smell of Red Bull in the tent !
They all are amazing bag appeal, all hitting hard but keeping you functional.
The high could be overwhelming for low tolerance smokers. I personally had the feeling of the start of a bad trip with just a few pokes of this gassy pheno haven't felt that in a long long time...
It will also increase your shopping cart bills as this strain gives you a huge munchy!
I washed all my trim (water hash) from those 4 phenos (around a pound of small buds and dry leaves) and I extracted a solid 35Gr hash temple ball shinny as crystal ! Now it's curing in paper hash / minimum 3 months ! Just made a try after 2 weeks cure, it's already wow / full melt.
I had around a 1000gr+ of dried trimmed cured buds with 4 plants. 3 were grown in a 4x4 with an amazing Ayahuasca Purple. And the Pungent pheno was grown on its own in a 3x3 with a creative bamboo treillis net !
If you really want to push out an amazing score out of this strain in a limited space as I really tried to with that run, I advice a good knowledge and control of your grow space.. Not an ideal strain for beginners to my opinion even if anybody could grow a plant, for sure
Those photos are with a month and a half cure.
@Snakeking, Thank you buddy !
I made the hash from trimming and small buds. I obtain this 35Gr out of 400+ Gr of trim. I could have washed it one or two more times... but as I tried to get the best quality, I limited to 5 washes to avoid some green traces which proves that contaminants have made their way through the wash bags... Watch Frenchy Cannoli's tutorials on Youtube ! This guy is my master as many other hash passionated enthusiasts 🙏 They also just launched for 4/20 a full free 1:30 documentary about him. That's so inspiring.
Love bunny's coat, apparently that coat is the oldest known cat coat...called mackerel? my boy has the exact same coat. beautiful knowing that is how the very first felines looked.
@KurtHighgrade, hey thank you Kurt ! I think it's because I washed it with ice cold water ;-) I love the process so much ! All about slow craft and patience 🤙 Have a great day., thanks for the vibe.
