LED 150W: Purplematic/CBD 20:1/Pink Kush [All THC 0.3-0.6% Strains]
I am sorry for the lack of pictures between germination and week 3, but my mobile died on me and I have not been able to recover the pictures.
Comments by strain:
Purplematic started well its vegetative stage, perhaps the strongest growth at early stages.
CBD 20:1 started weaker but after a week was recovering and aligning to the progress of Purplematic.
Pink Kush is one week behind. Initially I had germinated "Candy Caramel" from Autofiorenti.com. I tried 5 seeds, but all of them died as soon as the little root appeared. So, I changed strain after 1 week and moved to Pink Kush CDB from Autofiorenti.com. Conversely to its sister, Pink Kush germinated well and started strong its vegetative stage. Clearly the genetic of Candy Caramel was very week.
I am surprised by these autos. They are all showing strength and lush foliage.
Purplematic started its blooming period after just 2 and a half weeks. This created a brief deficiency of phosphorus and potassium. As I had not added any nuts with those two components. It took only a week to rebalance the nuts in the medium, increasing P&K and reducing N. The plant is versatile and LST did very well. However, the brief vegetative stage will leave the plant small, so I am very curious to see how much I will be able to harvest. My impression is that this strain is built to last 7-8 weeks total as advertised by RQS. So, the plant starts flowering very early, stays small and produces no more than 50g/plant. Let's see how this is going to play out in reality.
CBD 20:1 is coming up strong with lush vegetation. It is not really keen to undergo LST, as it wants to keep its main cola strong and higher than any other branch. In fact, trying to bend two of the three branches I damaged them and I had to put some tape around the damaged area. It has now healed completely without impacting its growth during the recovery.
Pink Kush is one week younger than the other two, however it does not show at all. It appears to be the strongest. Also this strain has resisted to LST, and its main cola was really stiff to bend. However, I was able to work on it without damaging the branches. Overall this strain is responding very well.
p.s. sorry if I uploaded two pictures only, but I was not planning to showcase the growth. From next week I will upload many more pictures.
Another strong week for the bush.
Purplematic ahead of all in terms of flowering but clearly smaller in size. Its color is becoming more and more dark purple, in line with its strains characteristics. During training, moving the buds it released strong red fruits smell hinting at a possible future sweet flavour when will be smoked. We ll see.
CBD 20:1 and Pink Kush coming up strong and starting to flower together. I stopped cutting side branches and now I will just wait for the main 3 colas in each plant to form.
Very good so far and looking forward to see how the main colas in these 3 beauties will look like.
Another great week for the bush. I could not be happier of the results so far.
Purplematic: the girl started flowering at week 3 and it s now starting its 6 weeks showing its unique shades of purple. It continues to be ahead of all in terms of flowering stage because has spent one week less vegetating. Its small size will impact the final harvest, and if things continue to be smooth, in my opinion this plant will give an average of 40-50g of dry red berry smelling nuggets. As it s focusing its growth on the 3 main colas the flower will be very dense and full of trichomes. That will he the case if something does not start to go bad…hopefully does not!!
CBD 20:1: the lady has delayed its flowering due to my fault. As I have already mentioned, it is not a strain happy to undergo LST, so tends to grow very tall with long main colas. Which for me it s not an option so I had to top its main cola e while bending it I damaged two branches which fully recovered in a couple of days. The plant delayed flowering by 2 weeks to hail. My guess is that this plant will be the most prolific as has spent that time to put stronger roots and vegetation. Once it will start flowering will have a lot of resources available to boost its flowers beyond the other two. My guess is that this plant will produce 70-80g of dry nuggets divided in 3 main colas and couple if side branches. In fact it s the only plant that is finding insufficient boosting its 3 colas and ia channeling part of its energies creating additional small branches, conversely to the other two. Hopefully everything goes well and I ll see the results materialising as I expect. As the flowers have just started forming it has not yet revealed its smell and potential flavour.
Pink Kush: the lady is doing well, and it s starting showin its big flowers along its main colas. Its branches have become stiffer than the CBD20:1, impossible to bend without breaking. So again, this is not a recommended strain for LST, but nevertheless I am working with it quite well and considering its size I would expect 70-80g of dry flowers. I did not notice any “pink” coloration yet, but I d expect some degree of pink coming up next week. Nothing else to note at this stage as it has not revealed its smell and potential flavour. As trichomes are just starting forming.
Overall, for all 3 I m cutting down N and boost PK. 2L of water every other day, alternating 650-750ppm with a watering of no nuts and only biohaven and activera, in order to slow down the deterioration of the soil, its salinity and improve overall uptake of the plants.
See you next week!
Another strong week.
I lifted Purplematic by 10cm so that enjoys the same spectrum of light at the top as the others.
Pink Kush going strong into flowering and I see some dense bud formations.
CBD 20:1 getting ready to an explosive flowering stage. Late into flowering due to HST, it is still growing, spreading and increasing the number of main buds. My guess is that this will be the latest but most productive strain of the 3.
Another excellent week comes to its close.
Purplematic is boosting 3 huge colas, while its foliage get yellowish. It may have its last 3 weeks ahead before the cut. It’s foxtailing but still going strong with its wonderful colors. Size is small and I wonder my next experiment with this plant would be HST or even multiple toppings to slow down flowering and have a longer vegetative phase. We ll see. By the way this week I started feeding Rokzbastic instead of Bloombastic, for ripening and densification of buds.
Pink Kush putting on 3 awesome super huge colas that are starting to get full of trichomes. This plant is really doing great and itss production will be awesome. I just wonder what main flavor it will have. The plant has at least 5 weeks more before cut.
CBD 20:1 underwent HST to slow down its growth in height. The result is that the plant embraced the opposite direction completely, abandoning the attempt of flowering its standard main cola and rather boosting a very well distributed flowering along its branches. The plant may need 7 more weeks, but due to lack of time I will need to chop it in 5. I really hope by then will have grown its buds fully. Also for this one I m very curious to taste it!
Beginning of week 10 for Purplematic and CBD 20:1 Auto. Week 9 for Pink Kush Auto. All THC 1%. 2”x2” tent and full cycle on 150W led light.
CBD 20:1: I failed her because the HST has slowed her down and prolonged the veg. I did not understand how much it slowed down, so I reduced too much the N and boosted P and K too early. Ultimately stunting her, because potentially I induced a CalMag lock down, which the plant is overcoming slowly. It is nowhere close to its full bloom and may require 5-7 more weeks but I will need to bring it down in 3. So, for all people out there wanting to check out this strain, I warn that this is nowhere close the plant should be at week 10. However, from my experience this is not a plant that you can tame through LST, as it wants to put up a huge tall main cola, and when I tried to train that main branch I snapped it. It recovered but it spent time to readjust and final result is underwhelming. Anyway, let s see how it does in the coming weeks.
Pink Kush: This was a cheap bag of seeds and nevertheless the plant is strong, gorgeous, smelly and pictures clearly show a well grown plant with 3 huge colas. I think this will result in 50g at least of dry flowers. The only worry is that it may have developed higher THC than advertised. It happened to me with cheap seeds, but there is no indication so far. I just cut a small flower and gonna test it next week. The plant is ripening and I just started with Rokzbastic by Atami, to assist her in this new phase. It s getting pinkier by the day! This will come down in 3 weeks.
Purplematic: This plant is a F1, from seed to a ripened flower in 9 weeks. However, the plant stays small and final result for me may not be more than 40g. I cut a branch a week ago and put it to dry because I m running out of smokable material. I just flushed her with 15L of ph-measured water. Only water from now on as the plant will come down in 1 week.
About the next growth, I am not sure yet what will be the next 3 seeda from January. Purplematic and Pink Kush are strong candidates, but I just bought Charlotte Angel CBD Auto and BlackBerry CBD Auto by Ducth Passion. A lot of competition!!!!
The plant developed 3 main colas. I harvested 1 cola earlier for my needs. Overall the plant made 55g in total. The smell and taste is red berries, with earthy tones.
It’s an impressive plant that grows very small and fast, with buds start appearing at early week 3, so add more PK in week 2 than you would normally do, to let the plant have a balanced diet in line with its genetic.
I recommend anyone to grow it. I actually put two purplematic in my new cycle that I have just started.
4/5. Not the maximum simply because the genetic is too fast to get to an XXL harvest, but then again I grow with a 150W.
As I said in other weeks, I failed this plant. It tried until mid-flowering to put a main cola but I continued to bend its branches and unfortunately broke two of them in two separate occasions. My fault.
I ended up cutting it at week 13 while the plant was in recovery and starting blooming for good. Slower than the other plants because of the injuries I provoked.
Nevertheless the plant produced 74g that is a great results given the mistreatment. However, the smoke is earthy and clearly immature. Due to all factors above, I cannot score the seed and I aim at growing again this genetic.
The Auto Pink Kush CBD by Autofiorenti.com produced 70g in total along 3 colas. Great smell and taste but it developed THC over the limit advised for this genetics and produces a clear high. So, I downvoted the seeds because of that.
Otherwise, the plant has been strong from day 1, with a great structure and resistance. However, this is of little importance, given the development of THC. In fact this suggests that the genetics is unstable and so may benefit from a less invasive genetic selection process, that to me seem to be detrimental to some pure CBD genetic.
This convinced me even more to opt for seeds leading brands and stop at their limited selection of genetics. Rather than adventuring into recent but clearly unstable genetics offered by cheaper and/or low profile seed banks.
