24 hour soak in water and into paper towel. Nice, warm cabinet above the fridge. Running Imperium X, Future #1, Grandaddy Purple, Big Bud and Wedding Cake. I was ill and too tired, but all seeds popped after 24 hrs in the paper towel. All the sprouts were curled, Imperium adhered herself to the paper, GDP was curled into a corkscrew and the seed leaves were inside the corkscrew. Felt the subtle snap of her somewhere along the taproot. Big Bud had only cracked, but had a 3mm tail coming out of the seed, so I went ahead and planted her.
Seeds were soaked on 10/24. All went into 20 oz. Solo cups with 50:50 coco perlite on 10/27 in the AM and 4 of 5 had cracked through the coco later that night. Big Bud didn't come up. I excavated her and she was the same, 3mm tail (pointing down, looking fresh), so I covered her back up and gave her a good misting. Decided to pop another bean. She'll be a week behind, but it's a Fast Version from Rocket Seeds with a 6-8 week flower cycle, so we'll still be on target to harvest at the end of January, early February. Love and peace!
Calcium deficiency noted almost immediately. Using Cloud Coir, supposedly pre-buffered, but definitely still needs high doses of CA, MG. Upped the feed and treating with cal, mag foliar spray.
We're happy and healthy. Everyone was transplanted to their final home. No transplant shock. By the end of the week, root tips are poking out the sides of the fabric pots of the three larger plants. Foliar feeding magnesium sulfate.
Everyone except Big Bud was topped this week. While watering, I heard a dull thud, looked around and saw my not-a-flip phone, damn near a tablet, sitting flat down on big bud, incidentally supercropping her main stem. Less than ideal. She's recovering.
Everyone still looking mg deficient, misting with mg sulfate 1- 4x/ day. Hit them with the "Ironhead" veg mix (light side, 1.6 ec). Definitely seemed to be a bit heavy and will move to a gently tweaked Lucas formula.
Increased ppfd to 410 and cut lights back to 18/6. Growing in Cloud Coir, 50/50 coco/ perlite. Supposed to be washed and pre-buffered. I still charged the coco with CaliMagic and mild veg mix prior to transplant. I either have been fighting a calmag deficiency or toxicity. Have been feeding 1.6 ec @ 5.7ph - 6ml GH Micro, 9ml GH Bloom, 5ml GH Diamond Nectar, NPK Raw Aminos, NPK Raw Kelp, NPK Yucca. Plants are responding well to the changes. Also, periodically misting with mg sulfate.
5 different strains five different runoff data points. Big Bud has struggled to catch up to everyone else and needs a lower ec, which I may accommodate, or not.
Life is good, love and peace
Good week. Lamp set to 100%, everyone is happy, so I have not looked at ppfd. Backed off the nitrogen. Still have slightly yellow new growth and giving a bump of magnesium sulfate. Light defoliation and removal of lower, under canopy branch/ bud sites. Reduced temp to 73F.
Great week. Still looking like an immobile, micro nutrient deficiency, brining Cali Magic back into the nutrient mix. Running 6 ml Cali Magic 6:9 ml/ gal GH Micro:Bloom, 5 ml Diamond Nectar, 1/8 tsp NPK Aminos. Beautiful plants. Runoff EC is @ 2. Input is @ 1.8 EC, 6.0 pH. Watering every 2 days @ 2 gal. with 10% runoff.
Added Liquid Kool Bloom @ 1ml/ gal. No one responded well to it. Within 24 hours there was some burned leaf edges. Reverted back to basic formula:
3ml Cali Magic, 6ml Micro, 9ml Bloom, 5ml Diamond Nectar, 1/8tsp NPK Aminos. Raised Imperium and she's loving the extra light. GDP and Future #1 are the tallest and look light stressed, but are settling into it. There are pistils from two plants that turned prematurely, looks like someone threw a male flower. Minimal impact at this point and I haven't found the culprit, but suspect it was Wedding Cake. She's stressed overall, from either deficiency, toxicity and possibly light stress as well.
Full shakedown. Lined everyone up and strip searched them. No contraband. Strongest suspects are wedding cake or big bud, but I could not find any non-female parts. The tent smells divine, like a grape juice reduction and melting chocolate. Trichome development is looking healthy and we're in a good space at the moment. All plants show minor signs of premature pistil withering, indicating possible pollination. It's seen on predominantly mid and interior flowers. Environmental changes are limited to slightly reduced humidity and the withering began prior.
Everyone is healthy and happy. Smells are amazing!
Cut Cal Mag this week. Low EC feeding @ 1.2 ec, balanced feed. 5ml Micro, 5ml Grow, 10ml Bloom, 5ml Diamond Nectar and 1/4 tsp. Magnesium Sulfate. PPFD ranges from 900 to 400.
I believe the stretch is finally done. Plants topped out at:
Imperium X - 29"
Future #1 - 44"
Grandaddy Purple - 45"
Big Bud - 27"
Wedding Cake - 34"
Looks like Grandaddy Purple will finish first and Big Bud to follow. Too early to call the other three.
Bud structure:
Imperium X - Extremely short internodal space, round, lush, flowers with thick white pistils. Very leafy, which may be due to excess nitrogen prior to flip. Hard to do her justice in photos due to the dense foliage.
Grandaddy Purple - Rock hard buds, coveredb in trichomes. Super sticky. Small pistils and tips of calyces are turning deep purple. These buds will look great jarred up.
Big Bud - Dense buds with good trichome development. Short internodes and all tops will have nice colas.
Future #1 - Wow, what a beast. She's really just getting started and has dense flowers, long, lush, white pistils and great trichome development.
Wedding Cake - Just beginning to develop, but has almost zero stem, with flowers running the entire length of the branches. The seem a little on the loose side. Interior calyces and trichomes are a beautiful shade of lavender and purple.
Scent:
Imperium X - Gasoline, clove, chocolate
Future #1 - Pine
Grandaddy Purple - Diesel, citronella, berry
Wedding Cake - Eucalyptus, cedar, vanilla
Big Bud - Citronella
Cruise control. Everyone is healthy and happy. Mishap tonight pulling the plants out of the tent. Grandaddy Purple was top heavy and flopped over, tearing at the roots of the main stem. Most of her branches went limp. I think she'll bounce back, but it's a considerable setback at this stage.
Again, all is well. Purples are coming out on GDP, Wedding Cake and Imperium X. Dropped the humidity to 48% +/- 3° and dopped the temp to 70°.
**Correction from previous week entry. Feed mix was for 2 gallons, not per 1 gallon as indicated.
This week's feed, per 2 gallons of tap water: 5ml Micro, 15ml Bloom, 5ml Diamond Nectar
EC: 1.1, pH 6.1
Runoff has been @ 1.5 EC, pH 5.7
Watering/ feeding @ 3/4- 1 gal./ day
Grandaddy Purple still looks like she'll finish 1st. I'm guessing 2 more weeks (which usually turns into 4). A lot of cloudy trichomes already.
Future #1 is in mid-flower and should start putting on some serious weight.
Imperium X is in bulk mode and still in mid-flower. Dense, sticky flowers on this girl.
Big Bud is slowly doing her thing. Nice, dense, trichome coated flowers.
Wedding Cake looks like she's just entering mid-flower. I think she may finish last. Calyces are purple, especially in lower light buds and deep inside the upper bud sites. Bud structure is looser than expected, but it's early.
Love and peace!
Good week. Purple is popping everywhere. Wedding cake has pink, lavender, purple and maroon trichomes, stunning.
GDP is mostly cloudy trichs. Feeding her only Bloom and Diamond Nectar. 1.4 ec, 6.3 ph, 20ml bloom, 2.5ml DN per gallon.
Future, Imperium and Wedding Cake are still putting on mass. Their feed is 1.2 ec, 6.2 ph, 5ml Micro, 20ml Bloom, 5ml Diamond Nectar per 2 gal h2o.
She was the 3rd bean of a 5 pack. Problems sprouting, very sensitive. To be fair, she was over a week behind the others and she was given the same feed and light as the others. Nicely developed flowers, very sexy. Frosty and dense, with a low leaf to calyx ratio. She's being culled early as she clearly hermed out. Disappointing since she only has a couple weeks left, but three of the other girls have at least 4 weeks left
Good week. All is chill.
Feeding GDP bloom only. Mostly cloudy trichomes, will begin flushing.
Imperium and future #1 and wedding cake are still bulking. Feeding 1.2 ec, 6.2 ph. 3ml climatic, 2.5ml micro, 20ml bloom and 5ml diamond nectar.
Wedding (aka pink cookies) has the most beautiful purple, pink and magenta trichomes. She's ripening fast. Will most likely begin flushing later this week.
Imperium should finish before future, but both still have a couple of weeks to go.
