I use a 70/30 solution of H2O2 and tap water inside a small capsule, allowing the seed to soak for 24 hrs, and she was ready for her birthday, already showing a tap root in that time span... I then place the seed into a damp paper towel to allow the tap root to extend a little further out in preparation for the transplant. I'll start her in a small grow bag filled with my amended Pro Mix seed starter blend, hopefully making a strong seedling for my first AutoPot run. This is for their grow off, which I found on their Discord server, but they are very active on FB and IG... Their catalog of offerings are definitely connoisseur genetics, most importantly, Made in the USA! 🇺🇲
After a questionable start, she's up and going, so the grow off is official! I have plugged in some organic items into a Pro Mix HP base to get this lady out of the blocks organically and get that root system spread out through the nursery pot. I fed some wicking cord through the drainage holes to make a sip system, basically bottom watering to deepen the root system development. I layered the soil into the pot so the available nutrients increase as the roots descend. I added a little mycorrhizae in the soil where the seed was placed to get things cooking and used Recharge adjusted to 6.0 pH to buffer my amended starter mix. Now that she's showing a little more vigor, I'm adding a little Kelp, CalMag+, and MegaCrop for her to sip on... A little organo-salt treatment that will make sure she's got all she needs available to allowing her to really blow up!
Keeping things simple again this week. Roots are already starting to come thru the starter pots drainage holes so I'd say the action below the surface has been what I was hoping for with this starter mix. I'll continue to provide a MegaCrop and Kelp Extract feedings to push her a little bit, I heard the term Synthganic the other day and it seems appropriate her, as I'm using organic and salt nutrients... I've got a little road trip planned so she may be coming down the shore with me over Thanksgiving.
Another week and the root growth is letting me know we're close to transplant time, which is a good timing with my tent getting ready for a new cycle. I pulled a few lower leaves off her to keep that energy pushing up to the top. Based on the leaves, she appears to lean to the OGKB in her lineage, so this should be a nice candidate for a scrog to get the most of the business of the strain. The hardiness of this seedling is definitely a testament to the breeders efforts in offering quality feminized
genetics.
Check them out on Strainly or see their site for their other offerings.
Waiting on time... She's ready for a transplant now and I'm waiting on my nutes to be delivered so I can amend the Coco. Great looking roots on her though and she's getting spread out early on to promote some side branching. She'll be much happier in the 3.9 gal AutoPot with the Beanstalk slow release amended media. I think I'm going to scrog her out as well to maximize the bud sites. Should start getting exciting here soon enough... If the postal service can get me my materials.
She's settled in and is doing great in her new home. Began to train her so she can get that big canopy. She seems to be enjoying the Royal Tupur and Beanstalk CRF One Pot Pack. It says one pack per 5 gals, but my pot is a 3.9 so I just mixed it all in. We shall see if that was a bad decision, but from what I've read, we should be fine. I've got my reservoir ready but haven't turned the pot on yet, biding my time til she really starts to stretch out to the edges of that AutoPot.
Beanstalk and AutoPot is literally the easy button. Just bending and cutting leaves every couple days. I think I'm a believer in the AutoPot for sure now!!
Loving everything about this grow, from the nutes to the soil to the genetics to the AutoPot system. Wish I'd have done this sooner!!! Stay tuned we're 9 days from the flip so I see a scrog net going in before the weeks out!!
Flip day will be 1/22... I added the supplemental UV and turned the FGI Square 3 up to 100% to get her off on the right foot. I've got some concerns about temps, but I'm on a schedule so the show goes on. I'm going to try to offset the low temps with a seedling heat mat and a Spider Farmer thermostat set to 64 degrees F. The AutoPot and Beanstalk have the grow on point and I'm tucking leaves and branches daily to fill out this net. Looking forward to seeing this girl show those blossoms! Definitely drinking a lot more, so I'm thinking of getting a larger rez to keep myself from screwing up the progress, she's drinking close to 3/4 gallon every 24 hrs.
Starting the second week of flower and and you can see she's filled the net. Still using water only in the rez at 5.6 pH, adding a little Cal Mag to stay up on things. Beanstalk and AutoPot are crushing this run and have this girl going strong. Thanks to Feed Me Genetics for running this grow off!
Another stellar week for this lady... The AutoPot and Beanstalk are keeping this grow in the fast lane on autopilot. I honestly wish I'd tried this sooner. Thanks again to Feed me Genetics as well for throwing this grow off and creating this cross! Keep an eye on this one, were a week or so of stretching away from the big flower show jumping off!
Another solid week of growth and she's really stretching out. I'm also starting to see some trichomes starting to ooze out so she should be quite a frosty lady. Hoping things stay the course and she continues to stack up.
