Submerged seeds in rodi water for a day and then planted seeds into field capacity Fox farms happy frog soil in solo cup. Seedling sprouted after around 5-7 days. Week one is done and plants are looking good. Hoping for a great grow!

Sometime during the past week she started leaning or got bent somehow. I have essential tremors so I suppose it’s possible I bumped it when watering but I just feel like I would remember that. Maybe I didn’t plant the seed deep enough when I germinated and the roots weren’t deep enough? Oh well. I noticed the leaves are starting to show signs of maybe a calmag deficiency? I started feeding them this week when watering sometimes. The feed mix has calmag in it too. I forget the name of the company but I gave 1 tsp/g. I’d like to transfer her to a 1g soon but I want to wait maybe a week or so once the root system has developed a bit more and the stalk is anchored more securely!

Plants are looking really healthy (to me) at this stage of the game. Probably the healthiest I’ve had one at this stage of veg I think. I lollipopped everything below the top two nodes. Once I have around 60-80 percent of the canopy established I’ll flip to flower. Depends on how impatient I get really.

Day one of week two of flower. Plants are looking the healthiest at this stage of the game I’ve ever grown. Calibrating my ph pen has seemingly kept the plants relatively deficiency free. That and going liberal with the calmag due to rodi water. Plants are just starting the beginning of their stretch.

This is basically the start of week three flower (it starts in four hours). So far the I’m more than happy with the plants progress. Calibrating my ph pen every 30 days and switching calmag brands and also adding more of it than in the past seems to have completely eliminate the past deficiencies I was experiencing. 😀 At the end of this week I’ll do a final defoliation and get rid of a bunch of light deprived stuff under the net and maybe a fan leaf or two that’s depriving some canopy nodes of light. I want to both keep as many fan leaves as I can while at the same time provide the plant with good airflow to prevent mold in the bushier sections of the plant. In the past grows by this stage of flowering period the leaves already were showing numerous significant issues due to the deficiencies. I was more than happy with the potency and smell of my past three grows but those all had very few leaves later in the plant cycle and the ones it did have left weren’t super healthy. So I’m curious if I can continue to keep the plant healthy with no visible issues if the extra energy created by the extra photosynthesis of the extra fan leaves will result in even greater yield, greater potency and stinkier nugs. Basically, I really doubt I was anywhere near maxing out the plants genetics. I’m sure I’m not this time but I think I’ve definitely managed to hopefully reach closer to their genetic maximum potential with this current grow. I’m not sure what max ppfd I should I settle on when they’re done stretching. I’m thinking like 850-900 from my photon light app with the optional diffuser attached. I don’t want to give it too much light but I also don’t want to leave yield and potency on the table. As a new grower I’m not sure but I’m thinking 900 is good enough since after that I may need additional CO2 to utilize the extra light. Really looking forward to getting to experience the smell of this strand in flower. I’ve never had Trainwreck before as far as I know so I’m excited to get to smell a legendary strain deep in flower soon in like 3 weeks. 😀

End of week three and she’s looking excellent! I’m excited to be this so far along with a relatively deficiency free plant finally. I’m hoping these next 4-6 weeks or so are more of the same. I did a final defoliation today. Defoliated quite a bit under the net that would have been light deprived and also too heavy to where the limb would eventually flop over. I’m wondering if I should have defoliated more of the canopy. My thoughts are “more photosynthesis (leaves), more energy directed to really healthy and strong flower production” so I was hesitant to pull more leaves from the canopy. I did angle up the lower oscillating fan so that it would blow into the bottom of the canopy. Hopefully between that and maintaining a good flower VPD I’ll keep mold away. My past three grows it wasn’t an issue since most of the leaves were dying by now lol. The strains signature smell is just starting to develop. I’m noticing a citrusy/lemony smell.

End of week four and plants still look great to my eye. Stretch is finished and now the plant is really going to focus on flower development so the next few weeks should show a lot of growth of the flowers. The smell is starting to really become noticeable. It’s hard for me to pinpoint but it almost smells like sprite but extra lemon limey. I’m thinking around 5-6 more weeks until she’s ready to chop. We shall see.

Day 36 of flower and looking great all in all. I’ve been watering her every 2-3 days and watering her about 1.5 gallons of water per watering and alternating between full feeding schedule and cal mag only watering. She’s showing some relatively minor calmag deficiencies on some of the oldest leaves but nothing too bad. I’m guessing she’s needed just a little bit more calmag than I’ve been giving her. I feed with calmag every feeding and give 5 ml per gallon. I’d say around a month or so left although the pistils, calyxes abs trichomes will show me when she’s ready. The smell is one of primarily a citrusy smell mixed with undertones of gas/diesel. Maybe 80% citrus and 20% gas/diesel.

Plants are at day 44 of flower. I think they're mature for their age but I'm gonna be sure to let them go a few more weeks. Thinking 3 more weeks to let the buds really mature and ripen into something special. They already smell absolutely wonderful. I've never had a tent this full with a plant that was grown this well so the smell is really strong. A calmag deficiency or something has developed the past two to three weeks though. It's odd because I feel that I give her a lot of calmag already. I guess she just needs more. Will remember that for my next grow. I'm really, really excited for this one to finish.
