At week 9, Purple Kush should be nearing harvest, depending on trichome maturity and overall plant health. Here’s what to check:
1. Trichome Inspection
Clear Trichomes → Not ready yet.
Cloudy/Milky Trichomes → Peak THC, ideal for potency.
Amber Trichomes → More sedative, good for relaxation.
Use a jeweler’s loupe (30x-60x magnification) to inspect them closely.
2. Pistil Color
If 70-90% of pistils have darkened and curled, it’s likely ready.
3. Leaves & Fading
Yellowing fan leaves are normal at this stage as the plant uses up nutrients.
If sugar leaves are fading too quickly, check for deficiencies.
4. Bud Density & Aroma
Should be dense, sticky, and pungent with a strong earthy, grape-like scent.
