Mephisto-Growdots-Coco-Strawberry Nuggets X Northern Cheese Haze
Mephisto Genetics Freebies - Strawberry Nuggets X Northern Cheese Haze seed was germinated and planted on 11/4/2024
My setup is in a 2X2 closet with a pair of SF1000 led lights, 100 watts each. I use an AC Infinity 4" exhaust fan and carbon filter.
I've been growing photo period plants for the last few years in this closet. I was using bagged living soil like "Coast of Maine" and "SoHum" without any issues, but want to try a few other methods to see what finished products I like. I would grow 1 plant and veg it to fill the canopy with a scog net then flower. A full cycle would take 5 months and yield 6 ounces. This is why I'm changing to perpetual with autos for a while. Seems like more fun and more varieties with a new harvest every 33 days or so.
My intention is to perpetual grow, popping a new autoflower every 33 days. I built three 5 gallon planters that fit next to each other perfectly in the closet. Each planter has a frame around it to aid in support, or to train the plant to grow within its area.
After taking everything out of the closet, re painting, making a few changes and loading it back up, I'm ready to pop the first auto and get this cycle started!
I purchased a few bricks of Coco Bliss from Amazon, rehydrated it and rinsed it three or four times to remove any salt. I then buffered it in 7.5 ml of Calimagic per gallon of water in a bucket overnight. I drained it then soaked it again overnight with new calmag solution. The next day I drained it and rinsed it with plain water. I mixed in 33% Perlite, 15 grams of growdots and filled the first 5 gallon planter. I added about a solo cup size spot in the center with coco and Perlite that had no growdots to plant the seed in.
While I was doing all that, I put a single seed in a wet paper towel sealed in a plastic bag kept in a warm dark place. The seed popped and within 48 hours I had a half inch root.
I planted the germinated seed in the unfertilized coco, sprinkling a little recharge in the hole covering it up a little after. I put a clear cup over it to trap the humidity in after a few teaspoons of water, set the lights for 24/0 and fingers crossed.
And we're off!
