The germination soil is 50% FF Ocean Forest and 50% FF Happy Frog.
The germination took around ~48-60 hours.
Seedlings sprouted in the following order:
Ethos Cookies #16
Mamasita
Pink Lemonade
Pineapple Express
Light is 19" above the pot base.
Humidity is set to 60%
Temperature is set to 80°F
3 days after germination, I realized that the plants were light deficient, so I turned on the main grow light (Vivosun VS4000) @ 50%, 20" away from the plants. This fixed the issue, and the plants exhibited steady growth, with the stem becoming slightly thicker every day.
I have been watering these plants with 6.5 Ph balanced tap water, with a tiny amount of hydrogen peroxide. Prior to watering the plants, I let the water sit for at least 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate.
The Pineapple Express seedling is by far the most successful one, looking the healthiest and growing faster than the others.
The Ethos Cookies #16 plant experienced stunted growth during the last few days. However, it seems as thought it is picking up again slowly. I also noticed that she has a deeper green leaf color than the rest of the gang.
---11/23/24--- Day 18 from germination
I noticed that the plants are picking up growth again, seemingly accelerating each day. The new growth seems healthy, and the main stems are thickening and becoming stronger each day! Unfortunately, my soil revealed itself to be under spider mite attack. I tried to remedy the issue by spraying some Captain Jack Neem Oil - will keep monitoring and re-applying as needed.
Still feeding the plants plain, Ph balanced water.
--11/20/24--- Day 15 from germination
I transplanted the babies into a 5 gallon AC Infinity fabric pots, each filled with:
* Moistened Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil
* Several handfuls of perlite
* Several handfuls of vermiculite
* 1 tsp of Mycorrhizae towards the top 25% of the soil
I watered the top of the soil around the plants with ~250ml of plain, 6.3 Ph water.
Before the transplantation, I noticed some yellowing of the bottom leaves on 2 of the plants, paired with slowed growth the past couple of days. I suspect this was either due to a nitrogen deficiency (notice how the the roots look rootbound) or slight overwatering. Either way, the issue should resolve itself, as the new soil will provide breathing room + more nutrients.
---11/19/24--- Day 14 from germination
I was going to transplant them into their 5 gallon fabric pots, however, I'm probably going to give them a couple more days to establish a more robust root system.
I noticed a weak skunky smell coming from the Mamasita strain. It started around day 10 -ish.
Water:
Plain 6.5ph balanced water every 2 days.
Light:
18/6 light cycle.
Vivosun VS4000 @ 50% most of the time, sometimes increasing to 75%.
Air:
Clip-on fan set to 3/10 speed to constantly blow at the plants.
---11/27/24---
I topped the plants to encourage the growth of an extra main stem. I also tied them up to perform LST in order to expose the extra growth at the nodes to light. Hopefully, this will give me a head start of extra growth to work with in preparation for ScrOG-ing.
I didn't top the Ethos Cookies #16 plant because it did not have 4 fully grown nodes yet.
---11/26/24---
These ladies grew over twice the size that they were in the beginning of the last week, with most of the growth happening in the last 3 days. Beautiful and healthy new growth is exhibited by all plants, very symmetrical, and nicely colored with a uniform green.
The spider mites are still an issue on the EC#16 plant soil. I am still applying Captain Jack's Neem Oil to get rid of them, and will add a combination of Spinosad insecticide, as well as a diluted soapy water solution to put an end to this infestation once and for all.
Lights:
Vivosun VS4000 @ 75% brightness ~14 inches away.
Feeding:
Plain 6.3 pH water ~200ml every 2 days per plant.
Notes:
Will probably start very light feeding with cal-mag-iron & Fox Farms Grow Big in the next couple days.
