Thank you to FastBuds for providing the seeds for this grow! Unfortunately only 2 of the 3 seeds survived germination. I put this down to a bad seed.
Welcome to my second ever grow! I’m still finishing off my first grow, but decided to germinate these girls to get a little head start.
All seeds were soaked in water for 24hrs, and immediately after saw the first signs of the seeds popping. They were then transferred to a soil rooter. What followed was 24 hrs under a small lamp, with the taproot quickly making its way down to the bottom of the rooter. They were then transferred to their 10L pots in the tent.
True leaves are coming through, with Rhizotonic at 2ml/L being sprayed directly on soil and plant.
My initial aims are to try to not overwater in these early stages, as I believe this was a rookie mistake on my first grow. Feeding needs to remain light as I’ve followed a few diaries of this strain, and it seems blackberry is sensitive to nutes. Any advice on this strain would be appreciated.
I’ll also be feeding ph perfect micro grow bloom from Advanced Nutrients (1/4 of recommended amount) as well as CalMag. During veg I’ll likely spray directly onto leaves ph balanced water with CalMag. Feeding will likely begin in 2nd or 3rd week, I’m planning on trying to look at these plants with much more detail, teaching myself to read the plants more.
Thanks for stopping by, I’m sure it’s a few weeks away until this diary gets interesting,
Not much has happened in a couple of weeks. Had RH issues because of damaged items, but today a new humidifier arrived. Humidity now at a stable 64%, hoping this will speed up growth.
Blackberry leaves were showing early signs of calcium deficiency (I think lacking in this brand of soil). Rhizoctonic and CalMag being sprayed directly on plants. Small amount of water applied to soil every other day.
Cheers
Sorry for delayed updates, this being my second grow I’m finding myself much more relaxed. I’m not checking the tent 5+ times a day, I just let the plants get on with it.
Trying hard to not overwater, maybe once every 3 days. Using minimal nutrients as other diaries show me blackberry from fastbuds is sensitive to nutes.
The beginning of this grow was hindered by humidity issues. Shortly after my last update (2 weeks ago) these tiny autoflowers entered flower. A little frustrating, but it would be great to see them shoot up in size,
Attempted LST for the first time, no idea if I’m doing it right but I’ve exposed a lower bud site to light, so it should work. Do I keep bending the plant whenever possible? I was surprised at how well a plant took to being abused like that.
Completely forgot to change light spectrum to ‘veg’ when I added the photos to the tent a couple of weeks ago, so that was only done yesterday. Will this hinder growth in autos?
Until next time...
Damn these plants are tiny. Not expecting a lot from these two, but I’m hoping that the intense horizontal manipulation will create a few tasty buds.
Whenever I touch the buds my fingers are immediately covered in a smelly treat, and the purple leaves are beautiful, prehistoric looking.
Accidentally pulled off a top bud from the larger of the two plants during some LST. But I’m over it. These two plants are barely doing anything, they’re so tiny.
I’m not overwatering, I’m not overfeeding, but I just don’t care. 😂 the cheese photoperiods in the tent are my primary focus right now, and they’re looking healthy. Check out my other diary.
Screw you blackberry auto from fastbuds. One of the three of you died after germination, and you two are hardly doing much better. Oh well, live and learn!
Thanks for reading this you strange person.
Stunted them early somehow, produced tiny tiny tiny plants with barely any bud. However the buds that did grow are strong as hell and gorgeous tasting. Don’t really care I messed this grow up as the focus has been on the photoperiods in the tent. Check out that grow right now 😁
My next fastbuds strain will be lemon ak, likely indoor. With white widow auto from dinafem being the most likely strain to go in the greenhouse.
@Fast_Buds,common deficiencies, sensitivities, resistances. Do they respond well to topping etc?
At some point they’ll likely move to 12/12 because I’ll be adding some photoperiods to the tent. Unless you wanted to send me more autos that is 😂
I had Calmag deficiency on my previous auto LSD-25 grow which stunted her growth. This time I'm growing auto Blackberries but mixed in some Dolomite lime to the soil and increased CalMag dosage to feed. So far so good at week4. These auto strains need the added CalMag. Good luck and happy growing!
@Short_N_stockY, I’ve been adding CalMag directly to feed as well as foliage spraying on, so it’s definitely not a CalMag issue - I learnt my mistake from my first grow, thinking I can get by without CalMag. Oh well, they’re too far into flower to actually grow at this point I think.
My next fastbuds grow will be Sea of Green 6-8 seeds of lemon ak
