Temp and humidity stable. Ready to push 2nd half of veg. I’m mixing training techniques but confident I can get an even canopy. Trellis ready as a back up

Up to 5 gals. Voodoo juice then bud candy and tasty Terps, repeat Nothing too impressive other than bounce back from bad training technique (hst). Cal mag foliar after some accident light burn (620 ppfd 😬)

Cultivar reacts well to topping. Branch bending got risky by week 4. Pushing nutrients and ppfd up for the end of veg. Healing for 3 more days before flip

I finally got a clean crack after scaling back rhino skin. One more week of veg. Will continue to supercrop first 2-3 weeks of 12/12 lighting. Letting soil dry back completely before reloading microbes and starting bloom nutes

Going to post a few grow questions about DLI. I’m confused about calculating with inter canopy lighting. Cultivator series blended. Dropped tasty terps to conserve for flowering.

Trying to limit the stretch. Not worried about height as much as width. I might remove plant clips once stretch slows. Full AN run. Adding big bud (removing ignitor). Running candy and tasty next week. Bud factor X week 3

Grow Questions

I’m thinking of harvesting this in sections versus all at once. I’m concerned with staggered chop dates, plant ID, and RH spikes. What % amber indicates overripe? I understand this is a question of opinion/preference. What’s your opinion? 30% amber? 50%, 75??

I'm not a huge fan of stagered harvest unless the plant is massive, and by massive I mean like 6feet tall outdoors and wide as a redwood cedar. But if you want to do it. try it. My ideal for amber is 10-15% the lower the better IMO. The more amber it has the more sedative the weed will be. So if you want something for sleep then yea, wait till is 75% amber but its gonna knock you out. the THC starts to degrade into CBN and CBC. Just based off the pic this plant is ready for the chop now. If you do staggered harvest vs whole plant, just try and dry the harvested bits in a cool dark location. The main plant might stop growing from the shock and just ripen up fast. I often find its not worth the extra effort and time of one week this stuffs ready for the cure jars and the other is waiting more. Good Luck!

Personally I'm not a fan of staggered harvests. At least for an indoor grow. I'd much rather clean the slate and fire up the next run. Better return on your time and effort. When I'm looking at trichomes I'm usually more focused on an absence(or near absence) of clears moreso than a certain percentage of ambers. I've had strains that seem to never amber up. I wouldn't push them too far. The trichomes don't stay frozen in time after chop, they continue to ripen/degrade during the cure and storage. As others have mentioned, at a point it will get you less high and just more sleepy.

The bud in this picture is well and truly ripe and ready for harvest. 10-15% amber is my personal preference, but some genetics will be 70-80% amber from about the 4th week of flowering and have honey coloured buds at maturity......it's all about the genetics of each individual plant. I have played around with partial harvests over the last 40 years and do not ever do it any more. After chopping the most ripe buds off and leaving the bottom bits to "after ripen" does not work in my experience. Chopping large parts of the plant off causes a huge metabolic shock..........the plant then goes into some sort of coma and the left over buds never get the quality of the first picked buds, no matter how long you wait for them to "after ripen". It seems once you chop large pieces off, the plant is unable to function properly (makes sense to me) and the left over buds just sort of stew rather than achieve greatness. Even when left to "after ripen" the buds from the second pick never seems as good as those slightly under done buds from the first harvest. These days I always harvest the entire plant in one operation and accept it for what it is rather than hoping for a maybe/could be.
