I’ve been a little heavy on the PPFD Gas Pedal. Backing off, leaf color evens across all plants - difference in saturation between margins and veins reduced Opposite for increasing. Goal is to increase light while maintaining even color over leaf surfaces.. Humidity Control - Dark Tent 2024-12-22T16:49:06-0600: - Environment - Temp: 72°F - RH 65% - VPD: 0.94 (Calculated from Actual Temp, no LST Correction) Lowered Trigger RH to 61%. Fans Increased to 7, and Humidity rose to 68%. Modified Sea of Green (mSOG) Tent: 8 sq feet Grow: 8 1 Gallon Containers, 2 Colas per Container, 16 colas per grow, 1 Oz / Cola Goal - 4oz - 5 oz/plant Wet (20 - 25% of Wet Weight is Dry Weight) - 1 oz/Plant Dry Standard Sea of Green (SOG) - 1 Cola / Plant - 12/12 Lighting throughout grow - High Frequency (low volume) Fertigation Documented highest yield per sq ft. The Modification - 8 - 1 Gal Containers, 1 sq. Ft canopy/plant, Light Cycle 18/6 - Two Colas per plant (With this cultivar - NICELY FILLS 1 sq Ft) - Top Plants ONCE to Node 3 when we have at least 6 nodes have grown - Start 12/12 AFTER first topping. - Rationale - There’s a balance between ROOT DEVELOPMENT and FLOWERING QUICKLY. A key determinant of FLOWER size is the amount of root development @FLIP - By vegging through 6 nodes, we assure adequate population of roots in the 1 Gal Airpot (Evidence of roots emerging across bottom of container, and at the lowest side ports of the Airpot - BEFORE FLIP). This step is KEY. - Principle (an assumption): The ultimate production of a plant in mSOG is proportional to the root volume established at flip. - Speed requires we have full (but not yet dense) population of roots - suggesting that once we have root coverage at the periphery of the pot, sides and bottom - we flip. - As production is proportional to Canopy space, there is a theoretical yield maximum that space can produce. More tops WILL NOT produce more WEIGHT If the Tops are competing for canopy space. We need to know, for a particular cultivar, how many TOPS will optimally fill a 1 Sq Ft space. - In testing with Lemon Jeffery [IRIE Genetics], One Cola and Four Colas we’ve found that 1 TOP/sq ft is insufficient (yield a little more than 1/2 the theoretical), 4 Colas TOO many (Uneven stacking of flowers - gaps in colas, indicating competition with its siblings.) - One Topping, two Colas seems about right for this space and this cultivar.
