Grower_Simon I will finally start my first pheno hunt series here on growdiaries, so I am very excited for this.
I have something very special for this run.
I could get my hands on two packs of Iced Up Cherries (Caked up Cherries x Banana Butter Cups) with the 2 Frozen Abyss (Ocean Fruit x Banana Butter Cups).
I will try to germinate 5x Iced Up Cherries & 2x Frozen Abyss
As always, I pre-soak my seeds for 24h in a glass of dechlorinated tap water and then go for the paper towel method to get them show their tap roots.
after root develpment I plant them into some Red Solo Cups with Calmag buffered Coco Coir mixed with 30% Perlite

Grower_Simon So from the 7 seeds, all 7 germinated successfully and all of the are shown their first leafs.
Why you only see 6 plants in total? I tried to gently get the stuck seed of one iced up cherries off and sadly ripped the sprout apart... sucks, but have 4 left.
So our run will start with 2 Frozen Abyss & 4 Iced Up Cherrries.
I do nothing but water with water ph'd to 6.0 with a very low dose (5ml/10l) of Hesi Root Complex for the first week.
I also removed the dome to get the humidity down a little bit.

Grower_Simon Beginning of Week 2 of Veg
The ladies are performing quite well. No signs of damage which is very good.
I like to go very low with my feedings in the first 3 weeks.
I feed them around 50 ml of nutrient solution per day.
I will probably keep them inside the solo cups for another week, depending on the root development.
I would also prefer to keep them short and bushy, so topping needs to be done in about two weeks I guess.

Grower_Simon 🌿✨ Week 3 of Vegetation: Challenges & Progress ✨🌿
🎄 Holiday Hustle Delay
Oops! I’m a little late this week (shame on me 😅). The holiday chaos during Christmas and New Year kept me super busy, but here we are! 💪
📸 Day 19: Photo Check-In
This week’s update is from day 19, and here’s what’s been happening:
🛑 CalMag Drama Strikes Again
After dealing with the CalMag issue on my RS-11 Pheno, I kind of saw this coming.
💡 The LEDs and Coco coir setup triggered a CalMag deficiency in the plants.
✅ Solution in Progress:
I’ve started adding low doses of Advanced Nutrient’s CalMag Xtra to my nutrient mix. Hopefully, this will stabilize things soon! 🌊🌱
💔 Iced Up Cherries #5: Trouble in Paradise
Sadly, the Iced Up Cherries #5 isn’t looking good at all... 😓
⚠️ Root Rot Alert:
I first noticed signs of root rot when I transplanted her from the Solo Cups to these small pots.
I added a bit of Dynomico during transplanting to help combat the issue. 🤞 Let’s hope she bounces back!
💭 Reflections for the Week
Overall, this week has been a bit challenging, but I’m staying optimistic. 🌟
✨ With some care and adjustments, I’m confident I can recover these plants quickly and get them thriving again!
📖 Stay Tuned for the Next Update!
Let’s see how these beauties bounce back in Week 4! 🌱🚀
