So after a bunch of stuff going on, moving home, rebuilding the setup, etc, I finally got to restart my grow season. Everything was clean up, some new equipment and best of all... A new grow room with enough space to organize everything on my veg and flower tents and even some space to do my concentrate experiences =).
For this one I decided to choose some new but we'll proofed strains because my stash is almost over, that's one of the reasons to go auto's....
The seeds seem really nice and germinated vigorously after 2 and half days on the paper towel without pre soaking.
The medium was repurposed from previous grows and revigorized with some worm castings seewead and bacteria ( bioenhancer greenhouse feedings) and I've added a bit of white shark when I planted the sprouts... At the end of next week I'll add the biotabs so they can grow strong and healthy
I'll try to keep things simple but do some supplementation and some lst because as said I'm almost off...and that can just not be =P.
On my new home I'll start growing other consumable stuff like veggies and fruits and I'll start having a bonsai on my office (a new diary will come up), that's the fifth seed on the picture (the one with a B)
Thats it for now, cheers and good smokes
One week has passed, unfortunately the second pound cake didn't make it so I had to germinate another to complete the set so the tiny one is one week late in comparison with their sisters.
Nothing much to add, let's see how this goes down =)
Second veg week and they are thriving... Nothing much to add, except for one of the sour Jealousy has a bit weird foliage but I think will not mean anything. Happen in the past and they pass thru it. Let's hope this one too.
Added my mulch layer with straw too help keep the moisture and temperature of the soil since is winter right now...I want to add some covercrop but probably only on the next season... One step at the time =P
Third week as come, and I've started some LST to maximize airflow and light exposure.
Installed the blumats without the rings. This way the girls will be alone this week since I'm traveling for the holidays.
I don't have access to the rings from blumat so I'm trying to design and 3D print my own, however I'm having some issues because I'm not getting the right pressure inside so the rings will work properly ( basically will not drip on every hole so there's no sense to them to be installed), so I'm fideling with the circuit dimensions. If anybody have the same issue and has the solution please dm me =).
If I reach the solution I'll share my design.
Also added some water with some bacillus thuringiensis to fight the gnats.
Almost everything is going fine... Phenos are starting to show a bit of grow differences... We can see poundc#1 is a bit more vigorous that the rest and that shows on the structure and malleability of the plant... The rest are a bit "harder" (almost like the end of stretching) what dificults a bit the lst and that showed up on the sourJ#2 that where accidentally toped during the training, but I think there will not be a negative impact since They are all happy and growing strong... Only time can tell ....
Got the rings for the blumat working well so if someone wants the stls please pk me and i'll send them to you =).
I think we'll get into flowering stage during next two weeks so with the dripping system working we are in cruising mode, continuing the lst training
Week 5 and they started showing their pistils Wich means we are going into full flower stage. They are healthy and pretty, poundc#1 is the streachiest of them all and I believe it will produce almost double than the others. Overall I hope to be wrong but it will be a low weight harvest, I hope they will be strong regarding smell and flavor.
I was planing fresh freeze and wash some of it but now I don't think I'll have enough for it.. let's see how it ends....
Blumat is working fine with the rings, making some dryback and watering when needed, so this week was water only.
I will follow biotabs recommendation regarding the boosters giving and the begining of week 4 and 6 the pk compost tea booster and the bio pk on the weeks 5 and 7... I'll keep reinforcing benefitial bacteria and stuff with the bio enhancer from green house feedings every two weeks. All of this will be about 0.5 to 1L per plant to not disturb the blumat schedule too much.
One more week has passed and they keep pushing thru while I try to keep them low and flat. Had a little accident and ended up topping the sourJ#1 so now they both are toped, on different dates. For sure now the outcome will be less that it could be.... But never the less they are strong and healthy.
Just watered with some kelp, aloe vera and benefitial bacteria to boost the stretch fase
I'll keep lst going for at least one more week or when I see that they finished the stretch fase, and I hope that I would be carefull enough to not screw up again.
One week more and we are now about at day 43 from seed and the girls seems happy... I'm noticing that the PoundC#2 while almost half of the size of the #1 it is showing some nutrient deficiencies while all other seems on the edge of nitrogen burn. Since they have the same soil, amendments and nutrients I'm seeing only 2 possibilities: or they are an hungry pheno or there might be some problem with my blumat system on that plant, where the humidity of the soil is too low and the microorganisms activity is compromised and they are not working on that nutrients as they are supposed to.... I'll probably try some compost tea for the first time to see if she becomes happier.
They are in a urgent need of a cleaning but I've been a bit lazy... I'll try tomorrow some defoliation and lolipoping to improve airflow. I've never had PM and I would like to continue not having it lol.
Everything else seems awesome, they hare starting to smell, mainly the sourJ, and they are becoming covered on trichomes.
We have a new addition to the tent, from my other diary....a bonsai experiment that was on my office window but when it started to flower they started to smell and I was a bit worried with the neighbors so I brought it to the tent to finish.
Already planing my next season so keep an eye out to my next diary in a couple of weeks (waiting for the seeds to arrive as well a washing machine and bags for Buble hash)
Hi guys, so this week I've noticed the deficiencies of poundC#2 got worse so I've added some orgatex a couple of times during the week and it seems to be recovering, but in this phase I'm a bit afraid to go hard on nitrogen, so I think I'll be seeing how it reacts from now on....the others are starting to show something as well so I'm brewing some pkbooster with orgatex to try and see how they react during next week...
PoundC#1 suffered a bit with underwatering and wilted a bit and I think it will be impacted in the end by it or at least delay her. There is a obvious difference between her bud morphology/development when compared with the other ones....their buds are amazing, perfect beautifull golf balls. I'm really excited to see them mature.
Overall they seem beautifull and they are smelling amazing. Still can't really differ the terps but I think it's a matter of days to see the notes. For now and the title of this diary you can smell a strong sweet and sour maybe creamy aroma
The last photo is the starting of my new season... More news to come regarding it
Week 9 and they are smelling amazing a sweet a gassy sour smell is emanating from my tent.
Afte the deficiencies on poundc#2 I decided review all blumats and reset them. However this went terrible, the poundC#1 for some reason was not calibrated well and it was over watering the plant... This happened 2 times in the space of 3 days so the pot is so so so saturated that it will be a miracle if it doesn't stunt. Disable that blumat specifically and I've been on top of it 2 times per day to see when it dries to about 50% of what it is now so I can set the blumat again.
Everything else is going great. Both sourJ are really pretty and have really big nugs given the size of the plants.
Everything with amazing coat of trichomes with the exception of the poundC that is much leafier that the rest... Not sure if it is a pheno or if I did something wrong.
Since I want to wash 2 of them (one of each) I'm not to worried about it. It it just one more thing to learn on this trip 😜
We are at the end of fruiting and they are getting ripped!
Beautiful sweet creamy smell mixed with a green sour.
I believe at least from the smell pound cake will be one of my favourites, but let's wait for the smoke test.
Nothing major to report, all the blumat issues where fixed and also the nutrient deficiencies. I'll not be adding anything else other than water until they finish.
Just had the final defoliation to improve air circulation because they are so small that the branches overlapped a lot.my next auto's I'll just let them grow naturally because, from what I've seen and read I think I trained too much and that will impact production in a bad way.
The poundC#1 really became delayed because of the dey period that it has gone through and now I'm hopping that I can manage to harvest at the same time without major losses because I have to dry on the same tent for now. It is the only place than I can maintain the ideal conditions.
So 11 weeks from seed as passed and I here wondering when they are ready. I was hoping to start to see some amber at least at the top nugs that usually tells me that in the next week or so they will be ready. However this girls are taking their sweet time to mature lol.
Have a small breakout of gnats because of the new ones that are getting ready for the next season =(. Already watered them with BT to see if they go away but unfortunately I think I'll have some on the nugs =/... I'll Have to select them on harvest to make a hash wash.
I'm a bit worried about bud rot on the sourJ#1 because the branches are short and close together as the nugs mature. Every they I try to move them a bit to improve airflow and have lowered the humidity as low as I can on my setup. Let's see how they finish.
