If the bananas are not open yet but still in development, you can keep cutting them away. With a bit of luck, the female gene will dominate and it will stop hermaphroditing. However, this doesn't always work. But as long as you keep removing them before they open, there's no problem. It's just time-consuming because you have to check daily.
