This run (after a failed germination) I had one more free spot in the tent .. Dutch Passion, with one of my orders, gifted me a free Lemon Z Seed. The Strain info on the DP website itself sounded very promising so in the earth it went.
Germination was fast (sub 72 hours to breach substrate surface)
After 3 weeks it just about had caught up to the two other plants in that tent which had a 7 day head start.
End of week 3 the plant was ready to be topped. After some defoliation and a little leaf tucking i gave it some time to recover, because within the next 10-ish days the tent will switch to a 12/12 light schedule.
Light schedule was set to 12/12 this week. Topping left the Lemon Z basically without apical dominance. After a little stretch all lateral branches ended up the same height.
At around this time the plant started to get deficient in Magnesium and Calcium. Most probably because substrate ph dropped below 6.
Nutrient solution was ph-ed to 7.5 for a little while, with some additional dolomite lime top dressing. Unfortunately in this critical growth phase Calcium deficiency can cause some leaf necrosis which will be visible for the remainder of the plants life.
Other than this the plant settled nicely into flower with very manageable stretch.
Last week of visible deficiencies. Didn't really help that the plant started to go FULL THROTTLE into producing buds and resin. (even though it is about a week younger than the other plants)
Deficiency mostly solved. Some necrosis visible but shouldn't really have a large impact.
Lovely production of trichomes continues.
Smell is now like actual sour lemon candy. No interpretation needed, no "maybe a hint of" - 100% actual sweet/sour lemon. Almost didn't believe it myself.. and then told all my bros!
Buds still packing on mass. Smell still incredible!
..and trichome production not stopping either.
At this point i was kicking myself for not taking a clone before initiating flower. The one I took was already in flower and even though it rooted fine it doesn't seem to want to reveg.
From seed to harvest this one was an absolute pleasure. Dried smell is still a crazy Lemon Candy. To top it off the effects of the high are very very good too!
I don't think one can accurately rate the high for other people because everyone's brain chemistry is different.. but for me - this easily beat out the last 10-15 strains I tried. Pure happy bordering on euphoria with very little (if any) paranoia, which unfortunately I am susceptible to. Doesn't forcibly put me to sleep either, but still a great sleep aid around bedtime.
If the cutting revegs (fingers crossed!) or not - I absolutely will be growing this one again. Thanks again to Dutch Passion for putting this as a freebie with my other stuff.. I completely missed this strain while ordering.
