Week one for this Northern Lights Autoflower by canuk. She started a bit slow (struggling with low humidity!) but the growth has really started to speed up at the end of the week. Most of the action is in the soil this week.
Looking forward to seeing how this beauty turns out. I did one outside and she got 52” tall!! I may decide to top her or do some LST
if she sprints out of the gate too fast lol.
Grow details:
- ProMix HP with added worm castings, dolomite lime, bone meal and Hen Manure (small amounts as autos don’t take to well to hot soil)
- 3’x3’x6’ tent
-3 gallon fabric pots
- 2 x 1000watt led lights. One for veg two for flower
-pH will be in the 6.0-7.0 range as I like to do a wide range as it seems to work wonders in my experience.
Week 2 for this Northern Lights Auto. She is still progressing a little slowly at this point but she looks healthy so I’m not overly concerned. I’ve had a few issues with getting off to a quick start growing indoor, newbie! Although I do have a Cream Manderine XL Auto that got off to a pretty good start (see other diaries.
She has received very small doses of nutrients at this point.
0.2ml of Grow Big
0.4 ml of Root Stim
0.2 of Floranector
Per 750ml of water.
Week 3 has seen this NL auto put on a bit of size. Not as much as I was hoping for but she looks healthy for the most part. Although some of my other plants are showing a bit of nitrogen toxicity (perhaps my soil is a bit hot or they aren’t liking the nutes) so perhaps she has a bit of that issue as well and it’s stunting her growth. I may go a week with no nutes and see what happens. It’s my first indoor grow so it’s all a big learning curve right now. Surely I can dial things in a bit more in the coming weeks. More growth should really start to kick in in week 4 as this always seems to be a big week for autos in general
She gets water every 3 days at this point and like I said this next week might be plain pHd water.
Week 4 has brought some nice growth. She is looking pretty good now. Still a touch small but really gaining steam now! I have been giving her distilled water between 6.2-6.8. No nutes this week as i was seeing a few signs of too much N. Light feeding will start after one more watering.
I am starting to see pistils which is always a nice thing to see! The exciting stuff is about to begin 👌🤩
Week 5
She has started to put on some more size. She is still quite small but at least she looks healthy.
When I potted my current run of plants I tried some new soil ammendments and I think I have added to much and created a “hot” soil and thus stunted my plants a bit. I’ll keep running her and see what happens.
Live and learn.....
Week 6 has brought plent of stretch and the start of flower. Both good things in my books!
She has looked a little sad on a few occasions but all in all she seems ok. I added some amendments to my soil this time around and I think my soil is a bit to high in N.
In the end I should be able to get this girl across the finish line. Sit tight for flowering 😎
