tangie 24H in tap water, then planted into a CalMag and pH-buffered coco-perlite mix in a cup. This will be a temporary early veg container, and the plant will be transferred to a permanent pot once the box is vacant.

tangie Watered with CalMag-enriched and pH-adjusted runoff from the cup substrate buffering solution. Upcycling, I guess. Yeah, her first pair of leaves if much, much wider than anything that I have seen on the two 80-90% Sativas I have grown before. Expecting this to be heavily Indica-influenced. But let's see, I'll try to put all my biases aside the best I can.

tangie Pronounced Indica traits continue to emerge, as far as leaf structure and shape is concerned. I am not implying that this is a pure Indica, or even an Indica-dominant hybrid, just to be clear. Accidentally exposed tips of two adjacent leaves to a moderately bright strip at a small distance — they caught the very edge of the light cone. I think it was exposed for just 1 light cycle, but the stress and minor damage was already visible by the time I noticed and addressed the situation. The root cause of this problem is that I trusted the flowering and harvest schedule provided by the breeder. For the second time, with two different breeders, the estimate is off by at least 2 full weeks, probably 3. Hence I had to accommodate both plants in the same tent under the same set of lights, at least until I construct a dedicated nursery.

Those little spots on that 1 leaf could be from a couple drops of water when watering, humidifier mist, or even debris that could of came in contact from opening tent, fans, etc I see no other symptoms and your plant looks really great! Keep doing what you're doing!!!

tangie Finally transferred her to the permanent pot after evacuating my makeshift hanukkiah (see my first Humboldt Sour D grow, harvest week) and refurbishing and re-buffering the medium. Some smaller root matter from the previous plant was still left in the mix, although I had tried to extract as much as possible. Was too tired and didn't feel like filtering sifting it any further, even less so blending the entire thing to shred the roots. Maybe it would have harmed the coco too. Let's see what happens. Previous plant's roots looked healthy white at the time of excavation, so hopefully no infections. I Washed and sterilised the pot, but did not sterilise the medium, not to disturb existing fungi and bacteria so then can start breaking down leftover roots right away, while the new plant's root ball is still 95% contained inside "clean" nursery root ball medium. I didn't picture it previous week, but I had used a ~400ml (14 fl.oz) tall plastic cup which I had Tungsten Himars-ed into a cup-shaped colander for proper drainage and root and soil aeration and ventilation. In terms of the root system, while having been contained for a pretty long time, I think the plant had made great use of the vertical space, and will have no problem expanding laterally now. Previous plant had more of lateral root spread than vertical. For better or worse — no idea. Let's see what this one does. I think this time around I compacted the medium a bit more before transferring the root ball. A couple more days in a makeshift nursery reflector while the Sour D is distributing and stabilizing its moisture before being transferred to glass jars for curing.

tangie A bit of post-transplantation stress. Had to manage substrate surface mold caused by excess moisture and insufficient ventilation. 1st level fans showing signs of stress. Bumped up N and Cal-Mag.

tangie The surface mold was evicted, did a surface disinfection with small amounts of medical grade ethanol. Not sure if made any difference, but apparently did not hurt the plant, which was my main priority. The bush had recovered from the post-transplantation stress and is growing rapidly. Older leaves are now forever damaged by Cal-Mag deficiency, but I think had corrected quickly enough, so new growth is spotless so far. Gender reveal next week stay tuned

tangie It's a girl! 🎉 🎉 🎉 And I'm pretty confident that she's a photo! Otherwise, the sex would have become apparent much earlier, and she would be starting to flower by now. I'll continue with this hypothesis which gives me still plenty of time to manage any early setbacks and configure the canopy the way I want. By the way, I have not topped or FIM-ed her in any way, and I'm planning to try to manage the canopy entirely by LST, ScrOG mesh and selective pruning. Which is beginning to scare me because she's FUCKING STRETCHY! I don't know if it's moderate N feeding or overhead light too far/too dim, lack of Ruderalis genes, or a very likely combination of all three, but her upper internodes are close to 20cm / 8in in length. Which is to say that I'm running out of vertical box space VERY quickly. Time to deploy ScrOG and get her bending even more, I guess.

tangie Yeah, she's a photo. Threw a net over her, more bondage ropes. Starting to bend the top aggressively, because there's just no more space. I factored in some room for bud growth (donkey anatomy numbers are widely available) and minimal lamp clearance that would allow me to run reasonable wattage. I had totally redone the lighting (well except the blurples which emit too much UV and stress the plant, so I used them very sparingly in early veg, and now they're permanently off.

tangie Why did the tiger get lost? Because the JUNGLE IS MASSIVE! -- The screen is sufficiently packed. The canopy is too dense, preventing air circulation and sufficient light penetration. There's barely any room for colas already, the light is now at its highest position unless I convert to an outside exhaust fan & filter setup, but I'm not doing that with a huge fucking plant bent in an S shape and strapped down whichever way inside the tent lol. Which means that I'll keep springing it down with the mesh and re-directing those stretchy branches horizontally, leaving just enough space for reasonably sized pine tops. I'll trim excess branches and flip to 12/12 starting next week.

tangie A bit of a turbulent time lol, so I noticed the light burn, compounded by slight nutrient burn, and corrected it with a delay, which had dried some of sugar leaves on buds with higher light exposure. New growth seems to be fine.

This is a random seed I found in a small bag of what was supposed to be Banana Runtz bud (rebranded Banana Punch apparently?). Source credibility and strain name are not practically verifiable at this moment, so. I have my doubts, because this felt different to another sample of supposedly the same strain that I had tried earlier, but maybe it came from a different plant or was harvested later with a more pronounced Indica fx. Based off the effects, I'd say this is a 50/50 — 70/30 Sativa/Indica hybrid. Was not grown and/or kept too well. Was too brown and too dry, had to re-hydrate it. Trichs were there and it hit aight tho, so in terms of potency it was grown well. All in all, no idea about the strain, the sex, whether photoperiod or auto. Ok, then. Leeeeeerrrrooooooooyyyy Jeeeeeeeeennnkkkkkiiiiiiinnnnnsssssss!!!!

@LadyKiller, Yeah, the fun and almost childish excitement factor is definitely there, and I'm purposefully enjoying it :) Thank you so much for relating!
