Schubiaktor_grow I was on vacation for over a week, and the watering worked out fine. But you shouldn't be away for longer than a week. See the smaller plant. But I'm hopeful. I should still be on track. Today I set up the Blumat drip distribution system and I'm hoping for better distribution of the watering.

If that doesn't work either, then it's straight to flowering. 28.1 today I defoliated again 01.02 Tied it down again and defoliated a bit. Did the fimming work this time? 02.02 Tied it down further and tried Super Cropping

Fimming is just topping.. you damage the node but leave enough ramining it can recover and grow out -- the healing can result in extra branches from that node plus the 2 axillary buds that normally form just below - auxins re-distribute growth temporarily to things that wouldn't normally have apical dominance after damging the plant just like topping. The difference is that the damage doesn't fully destroy or remove the top most growth node It's inconsistent. You cannot predict the outcome, so it's a useless technique. More is not always better, anyway. It's better to have an end goal as far as number of colas per sq ft of space and work backward from that goal formulating a plan to reach it in a systematic and efficient way. A whimsical mass of branches is not ideal. It's click bait or an epeen. It may make an individual feel like they accomplished something, but provides no real benefit and sometimes is a negative.

I defoliated a bit early and shaped both plants because the Mataro has grown like a jungle and formed leaves, so no light has made it all the way down. I hope that wasn't a mistake. What do you think? We don't need to discuss the shape of the two! They look terrible. 1 out of 4 Fimming attempts worked.
