I have been waiting for this grow for a very long time. The soil I am using was mixed by love_to_grow, then used in my ‘Amnezia-K Lemon’ grow, then reprocessed by love_to_grow, and has been waiting for half a year to be used again. - thank you very much, best soil guru!
Meanwhile, I've thrown a bunch of earthworms into the big pot, which I regularly fed with organic waste. When you look in this box, it moves, and I really enjoyed watching these little pets. I'm curious to see how they will interact with the plant.
Otherwise, this will be the laziest grow: I won't do more than water it. However, I didn't use the nutrient-rich Super Soil around the small plant, but a light mix from T.A., so that the young lady doesn't get burned from too many nutrients.
I am a little concerned about an infestation of fungus gnats – I have already sent nematodes on their way and hope they can get the problem under control. At the moment it looks quite good.
The seed is ‘Auto Milky Way F1’, from a sponsorship with Royal Queen Seeds. Thanks again! I had no luck at all germinating my seeds this time and this is already the third attempt. I suspect that during my move the seeds got too warm (we didn't have a fridge for some time). What a shame! Instead, some of our tomatoes germinated. O_O
But I'm happy that it worked out here.
The earthworms seem to be leaving my plant alone, and thanks to my hard-working nematodes, the problem with the fungus gnats also seems to have been solved. I sent them on their way once before I planted the young lady, and again last week – better safe than sorry.
The plant looks a bit yellowish in the pictures, but so far everything still seems to be okay.
Now would be the time for low stress training. But I'll be honest: I already know that I won't get round to it in the coming weeks. So my girls are staying ‘all natural’ this time.
The thrips are a thing of the past - thanks to my nematodes. And thankfully, the earthworms are also leaving the young plant alone. I'll be adding a few cucumber peels and coffee grounds today to thank them.
A healthy, bushy plant! It's wunderful to watch her grow. Added nothing but tab water. I will need an air filter soon, she's starting to smell. And maybe some defoliation soon.
Only tab water here, too. The plant is developing very well. I feel a bit bad for not doing LST, but there will be easier times again and we'll see how far we get with doing nothing. :)
It's starting to smell! It is a pleasure to watch this plant grow. In the last week it has grown several centimeters a day. The color is perfect and many small flowers have formed. At the top, I have removed some large leaves that were taking the light away from the lower regions. I have also removed small side branches on the lower large branches.
I have mulched with straw so that it doesn't lose so much water. And of course, to be able to write the beautiful word “mulch” again.
I buckled down and started a little LST after all. I use simple tent pegs for this. I hope I didn't pierce any worms...
Other than that, only tab water.
In the meantime, I've finally installed a decent humidity and temperature meter. Partly because I had no exhaust air, partly because it hurts a bit more when three plants go moldy than when just one does. It's fun to monitor that. At the moment it fluctuates quite a bit because I occasionally have the box open for longer, but that will normalize. My exhaust air set is the one from the old grow box and is a bit too small and, above all, too loud. But it's good enough for now.
She is drinking more now and has grown tall and strong. One could say I am biased, but I think this plant is exceptionally beautiful. There are also signs of considerable growth in the flowers, even though it is only the second week of flowering.
This time, I have been more radical than usual in removing small branches at the bottom, through which my plants would only lose strength that they would be better off putting into the upper flowers.
Since everything has grown very vigorously, there is hardly any opportunity for LST. I am now going to start cutting or bending out of the way large leaves that take away light from the flowers.
Gave only tab water. The rest are doing the microorganisms for me. And the worms!
I have literally done nothing this week except add a litre of water every day. She would certainly have benefited from more defoliation, but unfortunately it's crunch time in my life again and hobbies are getting a raw deal.
She has now finished growing in height, but you can clearly see how much the buds have increased in volume in the last week. Next week I'll probably have to take a closer look at the trichomes.
