Plant grew rapidly. I was developing a low ph problem towards the end of vegetation but was not aware of it yet due to the fact that my ph meter was acting up.
Low ph problems caused deficiencies and brown spotting. A nice big flush with higher ph water and then the addition of some compost tea made with build-soil compost and molasses has brought back color and growth has taken off again. I’m not going to recover the brown crunchy spots, but the blooms are bulking up nicely. We are back on track to harvest in a few weeks.
Gelato Auto was a nice big plant that flowered generously. Will grow again for sure. It seems sensitive to ph, as it reacted pretty dramatically to my beginner ph mistakes, while the other plant in the tent wasn’t bothered by it at all(a blueberry breath from Dream Beans). Even with the ph issues, the gelato still yielded twice what the blueberry did since it was so big, so I can’t complain!
