Hi everyone...
I am Gringo, an old Swiss "cultivator" of 51 years... I put a cultivator in quotation marks, because in fact, this is my very first crop, and I must admit that I know absolutely nothing about it.
So I bought a "Secret Jardin Lodge 100" tent. I suffer from a terrible lack of space, which convinced me to opt for this option, because the tent in question is composed of a "nursery" part of 40x60x160 cm (16x24x63 in) and a "flowering" part of 60x60x160 cm (24x24x63 in).
The flowering part is equipped with a 300W Mars Hydro TSW2000 LED, a "Secret Garden DF16 150/350 m3/h" air extractor, an "DF16 250 m3/h" activated carbon filter, an ultra-thin 250W heating, a small "Monkey Fan" and a small humidifier. Heating and moisture are controlled by a DIY probe that keeps environmental values more or less stable. Currently the temperature varies between 22° and 24° and the relative humidity varies between 65% and 80%.
It is important to note that for the reasons of space mentioned above, the grow tent is installed in my small garage, a healthy, clean but unheated room, hence the addition of a heater in the tent, because the winter temperatures in Switzerland can be very low.
As for the two plants:
germination was carried out with the "wet wipe" method, soaking the seeds for 18 hours and then for 1 hour in the X-Seed solution of B.A.C. . After 24 hours between the two wet wipes placed in a warm, dark place, the tip of the root has pierced the shell and is now visible. I left them for another 3 days in these conditions of heat and humidity for the root to grow more.
Once the desired root length was reached, I planted the sprouted sprouts in their final pot, namely "12.5 lt (3.3 gal) air-pots filled with "Juju Royal Coco Kaya" from Biobizz: a mix of White Peat, Coco and Perlite. I also added an amendment based on mycorrhizae, more specifically the fungus Rhizophagus irregularis.
In the pictures, the plants have been in the tent for a week. I'm pretty sure I've over-watered, so it's been 48 hours since any watering was done. According to a soil monitor measurement inside the pot, the average rate of the substrate is 52% for one of the pots and 54% for the second pot.
Do you think, farmer friends, is the humidity in my substrate too high? Too low? Correct?
I feel like the plants haven't grown much this week, and I'm afraid I've "stunned" them by over-watering...
I plan to start the fertilizer tomorrow, I opted for the "Juju Royal" range to make things easier for me, but only if the substrate is sufficiently dried, I really don't want to overwater.
So, thank you all for taking the time to read my first steps in this great adventure that is indoor culture.
I am eager for knowledge and really want to improve, so it is with pleasure and some impatience that I await your comments, positive or negative, as well as all the tips and all the excellent advice you can give me.
Thanks I
