Seeds were great. All four seeds sprouted within a couple of days. Growing was easy, just added water and nutrients, was not a complex process. I PH'd the water about half the time. strain grew vibrantly and consistently. No real issues to speak of, just add water.
I grew four plants and they all were very similar, all had nice height, one was a bit taller, two were the same and one just a bit shorter. All had the same structure. Plants took well to re-potting, topping and LST, never suffered from shock.
Lots of buds, they were medium size and frosty. Liked the fact the flower was quick, this finished in 42 days of flower, amazing.
Great to smoke, nice smooth taste, relaxing and great high.
All in all a great grow and I would recommend this strain to others. I will grow it again. A 10 out of 10!!
I will update later with a smoke report.
Update Smoke Report:
Cured for three weeks and tried it. High comes on first as a head high and moves to relaxation then a body stone. Great for sleeping. Tastes smooth with hints of citrus and high school, haha. A great evening smoke, just what I wanted.
The Grotek nutrients worked great and were fairly simple to use. Directions were accurate and easy to follow. I like the fact I did not have to mix a bunch of nutrients like a mad scientist. haha. I will keep using them. Gave them four starts as five starts is perfect and I do not know what that is yet. haha.
I would recommend Grotek to others and will continue to use their products.
Loved growing the Quick Critical, it was vibrant and not demanding. Took well to topping and did not suffer any transplant shock when potting up. Plants grew nicely and fairly open did not need to stretch them out.
I originally bought the seeds as an impulse thinking they were auto flowers. I ended up having too many plants all flowering at the same time. The flower room was crammed and these were on the edge of the lights until the last three weeks. Looking at all the trics, this did not seem to make a difference.
I did stop using the nutrients too early, four weeks before harvest. The leaves started yellowing a fews weeks before harvest. I think this limited the overall yield. Loved the quick flowering, finished in 42 days.
Put the plants in darkness for 24 hours then chopped them. Hung the whole plant upside down in a dark room. Room was 70 degrees during the day and 64 at night with 51% humidity. Hung two for 7 days then wet trimmed, let them dry a but more then jarred them. Hung the other two for 14 days and some of the small snapped however tje rest just bent. The buds looked dry to me so I went ahead and trimmed then jarred them. I have to say I prefer dry trimming as it is not as messy.
Got lots of great frosty medium sized buds dripping in tric's. Very happy with that.
Got a bunch of scruff on the bottom that did not amount to much. Good to know as I will cut all that off on future grows.
Going to make tincture or hash with all the trim.
All through flower they gave off a strong lemony smell. Loved it and found myself always smelling my fingers for an hour later. Haha.
I have to tell you I hardly every smoke and have a low tolerance. Tried a tester bud sitting in the backyard and was blasted. Sat on the couch so stoned and felt paralyzed, too funny.
I slept good that night.
All in all the grow went well and I'll tell you I really loved the smell of the buds. I would definitely recommend this and would grow again.
I will store most of the jars for two weeks to a month for final cure. Some will be for preliminary testing and cure comparison, haha.
I will follow up later with a proper smoke report.
I was rotating the plants, a little ocd action and accidentally supper cropped a cola. Seems to be doing ok and not worried about it.
My question is this ok to do deliberately in flower and increase yeild or should it be avoided after a certain amount of weeks into flower?
I tend to cut off the smaller ones at the bottom as she goes through the flower mode. the ones that don't get much light. Now I have accidentally cut the main colas. she was left with just a thread of skin, I used masking tape and wrapped it up. She survived and that one Colas ended up being the largest of the lot. lol Don't go crazy cutting off colas, you just might shock her and slow down production.😎
Hey there!
How did the trichs looks at 42 days before chop?
I am just finishing my QC+ and I will chop tomorrow at 49 days of flowering total.
I have mostly milky trichs with some still clear.
Hi,
looking good. I wouldn't worry about height. If you look at my diary last week I said I could do with some height and she's grown 5 inches in a week!!!!!
I will be following you as we are at the same stage and I can learn from you so please post pics👍
All the best Kitkat
@GreasyLuigi, thank you for the support!!
A real enjoyment to grow and I really hope so.
I hope the buds fatten up even more in these last couple of week(s).
By the look of things the stretch phase is slowing down and focus has shifted to beautiful bud production and trichome development looks to have kicked in 👌
Looking good from this end my friend 👍
Until next time ✌️
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, thank you.
Really impressed with the genetics!
Looking at then today one in particular seems to be farther along. The hairs are really changing color to amber.
I'm thinking it will probally a stagered harvest.
Trust me mate these buds dense up...they'll turn into beautiful nugs...the flavour is sublime if you let dry and cure over 7-10 days . You wont be disappointed
Check out the last weeks of my quick critical+ diary to see what this plant turns into 😍😍👏👏👏
Your☝️☝️☝️☝️ plants look 😍😍 by the way 👏👏....good work
@@hydrohippy, good to know thank you for the insight. I feel like a first time dad, haha.
Your grows look great!, hope to get close to those results. Hydo has me intrigued, I was advised to stay away for the first time grow. Looks like it produces good results.
I still remember back in the '70's, in Santa Cruz and seeing someone growing Hydro outside in a old claw foot tub. I was amazed by the size and results. They were big beautiful sensi buds. This was when most weed was from mexico and had seeds in it. Most "home grown" was garbage. Times have changed, certainly for the better.
Of all the strains I have on the go right now (3) Quick Critical + is my current favorite.
Have you considered knocking the nutrient feed back that will help reduce and leaf tip burn 👍
Very nice growth over the last week, nice training work and undercarriage removal 👌
Looking good from here my friend✌️
Until next time buddy ✌️
All the best
Mark..
Another Quick Critical grow up and running on the grow diary platform 👍
Good luck with this Quick version of our legendary Critical+ . I know you are going to love this strain👌. We will be watching with interest my friend 👍
Let's see what you can do with this "Quick" lady 👊
All the best ✌️
Mark..
By the look of things it's harvest time for our Quick Critical 👌
Some huge flowers produced my friend and trichome production looks amazing 👍
How did the harvest go mate @BarrieGrower ?
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@BarrieGrower, That's what we like to hear and we are so happy our Quick Critical performed well in your garden 👍
Time to enjoy your hard earned harvest 👌
All the best ✌️
Mark .
@DinafemSeeds, the harvest went beyond my expectations, very well. I'm going to miss that smell in the flower room. The buds are sticky. Going to post the harvest report soon.
Taking of those lower branches will help a lot my friend. As you said they get very little light and will not be very productive on the plant.
You did the right thing now the remaining plant has more energy for the remaing branches 👌
They all look in great shape, nice dark green colour and zero signs of any deficiency or overfeeding 👊
Looking good from here mate 👌
All the best ✌️
Mark..
