I soaked the seed in Black Forest still water for about 36 hours. After that, a taproot appeared, so I planted the seed directly into the pot. The pot is a 20L fabric pot made by AC Infinity. Approximately 28 hours later, a seedling emerged. The soil is composed of: 20% Pumice: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0CQM61X8S/ About 10% of activated Biochar/Charcoal: https://www.amazon.de/DIMIKRO-Pflanzenkohle-fein-gemahlen-Liter/dp/B07PNPQSXR 20% Worm Castings: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07SQDRXGC 50% of soil (Torffreie Kräuter und Aussaaterde): https://www.raiffeisenmarkt.de/gaertnerglueck-torffreie-kraeuter-und-aussaaterde-p-73816145 Additionally, I added Green House Feeding BioGrow at a rate of 2.5g/L and Organic Nutrients CalMag Alga at 3.5g/L. I won’t be doing much during this grow, except for leaf tucking and a bit of LST (low-stress training). I want to minimize stress as much as possible. The Blumat drip irrigation system will be added sometime after day 10. At that point, I also plan to sow some clover seeds in the pot. I’m curious to see how she performs, what the harvest will be like, and how the 1:1 CBD-to-THC ratio affects me. Additional Note: This grow is also an opportunity to learn from my previous mistakes. I’ll avoid over- or underwatering, and I’ll exclusively use reverse osmosis water. (I’m also considering using one branch to produce pollen and pollinate a few flowers to generate seeds, but we’ll see.)

12/29/24 Short facts: - Watered in about 1,25l - 5cm high - Light is @60% but in a distance of 70cm - 350 ppfd - 2 real leavepairs are already developed - VPD @ 0.8 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I’m very happy with the growth so far. The plant already has two sets of leaves, and the third pair is developing. Since the plant is positioned in the middle of the grow tent, the light intensity is quite high at 350 PPFD, even though the distance to the light is currently 70 cm. The Blumat Digital Pro has been incredibly helpful in maintaining consistent soil moisture—neither too dry nor too wet. This should encourage healthy root development. I also added Dimikro Effective Microorganisms and a small amount of Green House Feeding Enhancer to the water I provided. These should help establish a robust and healthy microbial biome in the soil. Next week, I plan to install the Blumat drip irrigation system, likely around day 10. That means I’ll need to prepare all the water lines and connections over the next few days.

01/06/24 Short facts: - 11cm high - Light is @70% but in a distance of 70cm - 350 ppfd - VPD @ 0.8 - Blumat drip irrigation system installed --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The growth is looking good. The Blumats are doing their job, keeping the plant consistently watered, though I had to make some slight adjustments to keep the moisture level within my target range of 100 to 120 mbar. Right now, I’m debating whether to bend the branches down and spread them out or to top her and then spread everything out in a few days. Thanks to the Blumats, I’m only hand-feeding her once per week. During this feeding, I mix in additional fertilizers at a dosage suitable for a full week's worth of hand-watering. It’s gotten quite cold over the past few days, and I hope this won’t negatively impact the growth. We’ll see how it goes.

01/13/24 Short facts: - 17cm high - Light is @80% but in a distance of 68cm - 500-560 ppfd - VPD @ 0.8 - Topped - First LST done --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quite an interesting week! Last week, I mentioned that I was considering topping her. Well, one day later, I went ahead and did it. Fortunately, I didn’t notice any negative reactions or signs of stress in the following days. After waiting about a day, I started with LST. No issues there either, I’d say she’s quite easy to train. She looks really happy and healthy. Her deep green color shows no signs of over- or underfeeding, which is great. I’m hoping for at least one more week of solid vegetative growth!

01/20/24 Short facts: - 25cm high - Light is @80% but in a distance of 60cm - 500-560 ppfd - VPD @ 0.9 - Defoliatet a little bit - More LST done - Flooded the pot with water :-/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really messed up this week. I adjusted one of the Blumat carrots/sensors and must have accidentally opened it completely. This happened during my last check-up before going to bed. Since it was the weekend, my first check the following day wasn’t until the afternoon (usually, my first check is after I wake up, take a shower, and boot up my work notebook). It must have been around 14 hours without any check-ups. When I opened my tent, the first thing I noticed was an insane amount of humidity. Next, I saw that the floor tray was flooded with about 2cm of standing water. The tray under the pot of the 1:Walt was completely full and couldn’t contain any more water. I was happy to have an industrial vacuum that can also suck up water without problems. So, I used it to remove the water. I also placed a towel under the fabric pot to soak up more water from the pot itself. Thankfully, she’s not dead; she looks a bit droopy, but she has survived. I hope the shock wasn’t too stressful for her. It took two days for the moisture level to return to normal. Due to the flooding, I added some more nutrients and also applied Green House Feeding BioBloom fertilizer at about 4g per liter of substrate, as she already startet flowering. I also did some more LST this week and defoliated her a bit more to expose more branches to the light. What a week...

01/27/24 Short facts: - 43cm high - Light is @80% but in a distance of 50cm - 600+ ppfd - VPD increased to 1.0 but I only do get it up to 0.9 - Defoliatet quite much - More LST done --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see, she has grown significantly over the past week. Her structure is very bushy, with numerous side branches that are creating plenty of tops. I defoliated her quite a lot last week, but she’s already looking crowded again. I’ll need to do some additional defoliation this week to give her more space and light. She really wants to grow, especially outward to the sides, making her an excellent candidate for a SCROG net. What a great plant! She’s definitely my favorite in the tent right now! (In the small pots with the humidity domes, there are three different chili strains. I’m growing them for a friend and family. I'll probably keep one Habanero Orange for myself.)

I had to defoliate her once more, but she has already regrown some leaves, so I'll probably have to defoliate her again this week. I'm really impressed, she's doing so well!

02/10/25 Short facts: - 67cm high - Light is @80% but in a distance of 30 to 35cm - 800 to 1000 ppfd - VPD increased to 1.0 but I only do get it up to 0.9 - Defoliated again --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She has grown significantly again, becoming taller and producing more leaves. I really hope that her growth is coming to a halt. She is the biggest automatic plant I have grown in my tent to date. She is not just tall but also very wide. I had to defoliate her a little again, but she has already regrown some leaves. A problem appeared last week. Some leaves developed brown stains, and the green between the veins started to fade slightly. It looked like a sulfur and magnesium deficiency. The symptoms are probably connected to the mistake I made when the Blumats flooded this plant and the grow tent. I'm sure I lost a lot of nutrients that way. So I bought some Epsom salt, which contains both sulfur and magnesium, and watered her with a good portion. I also sprayed the leaves. That seemed to help because the symptoms improved, and the new leaves don’t show any problems.

02/17/25 - Short Facts: - Light is at 70%, decreased by 10% - VPD increased to 1.2, but I can only get it up to 1.0 - Pretty sure the plant got pollinated by the Lemon Cherry Cookies from Fast Buds --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, I bought a heater because it just got too cold this week. It was -10 degrees outside at night, which is quite cold. As a result, my cellar got chilly. I set the heater to 23 degrees, and it’s keeping the room at a stable temperature. It actually doesn’t need to be on that often. With this little device (Philips 3000 heater), everything is fine now. I was also able to decrease the temperature of the heat mats inside the grow tent. With the heater, the temperature in the grow tent now stays between 22 and 25 degrees. Growth has stopped, and she is stacking up really nice flowers. She smells a little bit like cheese, but also quite sweet and slightly floral—very interesting. Sadly, her leaves are not looking too good, and more of them are starting to look worse. I really don’t know why, but it seems that the automatics from Mephisto Genetics don’t like something after three weeks of flowering. Maybe it’s something in my soil or how it's mixed—I don’t know. Maybe something is accelerating senescence. Also, the leaves around the flowers—are they turning purple, or are they dying off? I really don’t know. Just to be sure I also decreased the light by 10%, maybe it was just too much to handle for her. One last thing: As you can see in my report called "Seed & Testrun Lemon Cherry Cookies," the Lemon Cherry Cookies from Fast Buds produced quite a lot of pollen. So I’m sure there will be quite a few seeds in the 1:Walt that are a cross between these two, since she was standing right next to the LCC.
