TheGreenMagazine Day 4 - Seedling Progress
The seedling is now 4 days old. After germination, I planted it directly into a 22L pot. Prior to this, the seed was placed in an EasyPlug, which I soaked in water once and then gently squeezed out so that it was only lightly moistened.
After transferring it into the 22L pot, I watered it with approximately 50ml of water and repeated the process two days later.
On Day 4, I used Biobizz Root Juice for the first time. I mixed 1 ml of Root Juice with 250ml of water.
On Day 7, I watered again with 250ml water (1ml Root Juice + Calmag because of soft water) I lowered my LED to get about 500 PPFD. The VPD is around 0.8 kPa.

TheGreenMagazine Day 10 - Lessons Learned
During the last watering, I wasn’t patient enough and likely overwatered the plants. As a result, I believe I lost around 3-4 days of growth.
Before watering again on Day 10 of the vegetative phase, I made sure the soil was dry to a depth of about 3-4 cm. Throughout this time, I maintained a steady VPD of approximately 1 kPa.
By Day 10, my babies looked healthy and thirsty again, so I confidently watered them with 500ml of water.
Over the next 3-4 days, I’ll carefully monitor their growth and observe how quickly the roots absorb water while maintaining a consistent VPD. This will help me better understand their needs and adjust their care accordingly in the future.
Day 15 - Steady Progress
The plants look healthy and are quickly absorbing the current watering amount of 500ml. At the moment, I need to water them every 2 days and have noticed that they could handle a bit more.
To improve my watering technique, I’ve purchased a moisture meter that gives me a rough indication of whether the soil is wet, moist, or dry at deeper levels. This will help me develop a better sense of when to water and reduce the risk of overwatering.
On Day 16, I decided to start LST (Low-Stress Training). I used rubber-coated wire and carefully tested the flexibility of the stem to see how far I could bend it without causing damage.
Today, on Day 17, I plan to increase the watering amount to 750ml and observe how quickly the plants absorb it.
