I use a full AC Infinity system with 2 x 150W LED, active carbon filter with extraction, fan and humidifier, and I'll probably install an automatic watering system later on.This is my 3rd grow, but the first time I decided to create a report on growdiaries for documentation and sharing.I've already got a little experience with "low stress techniques like topping and mainlining. I want to go for a photoperiodic strain and do some really nice mainlining on those plants.
The seeds were placed in a glass with water for 24 hours and then planted in “BioBizz All Mix” soil with the opening facing downwards.
The values for the ambient conditions are the averages from the weekly evaluation of the AC Infinity app.
I water every 1-2 days with a glass of water and BioBizz fertiliser according to the fertilisation schedule.
The plants were topped and the lowest “branches” were cut off as they were very small. The aim is also to start mainlining in the coming week.
I use Soap Dispenser for clean dosing of the nutrients and would clearly recommend. By surprise each pump is exactly 1ml. This will also prevent getting mold into the biobizz, unfortunatly ive had previous experience with mold within the nutrients.
I topped again on the side branches and started with some soft strapping/mainlining. In one of the pictures you can see, how iam planning the structure of the plant.
I think i fucked up my mainlining and should have worked that out differently. But in the end i think i will have a nice strong Base for at least 8x Main Cola per plant.
I was informed in the comments that the fertilizer dosage was incorrect. Thank you very much for that! I actually came to the same conclusion a few days earlier because the bottle sizes didn't match the dosage :-) Fortunately, I don't see any signs of over-fertilization (no burns). I haven't flushed the soil yet and will probably leave it at that.
My pH meter measured a value between 5.8 - 6.1, which I think is perfectly fine. The value should rise later in the flowering phase.
VPD controller was set to about 0.9, which kept it quite good. I was increasing that value over the past few weeks.
From today, Friday, February 7th, I will change the clock to 12/12 and initiate the flowering phase.
From cutting the plants, I now have eight large shoots that will later produce the colas. So far I have removed all the other smaller lower shoots, as these would be cut away later anyway. So why waste the energy.
Further up I will probably leave smaller shoots for some “by-catch” ;-)
It's been exactly one week since the switch to 12/12 and so the flowering phase has begun. The plants have grown massively in the last week. During this time, I have removed other smaller shoots further down and tried to distribute the large shoots as evenly as possible with a wire. I think I succeeded relatively well. I increased the VPD Control to 1.0.
Iam watering my plants every 2 days with about 2-3L per plant. Also still using a humidifier with a vpd controller set to 1.1 this week. On friday i took the pictures before and after cutting a few leaves to support flowering. With bare eyes you are able to see the firste flower pistil on all plants, so iam sure that all plants are feminine.
On the plant iteself, I didnt really do much this week, except defoiliating a little bit.
But I installed a 20L Tank with an automatic pump which is dripwatering the roots of my plants every 2 hours. I will take some pictures next week.
Also i have rescued some sunflower which will be planted in our garden later.
Sorry for commenting again so soon, but I think you fell for the same mistake I did at the beginning of my first grow.
If you look at the most recent Nutrient-Schedule 2024 from Bio Bizz, the red "Week-Indicators" (WK 1, WK 2, etc.) are for the flowering-phase! Not the veg-phase!
The whole vegetation-nutrient-schedule is compacted into one column on the left of the big green vertical bar (under the A of ALL-MIX and under the I of LIGHT-MIX).
You're giving your plants WAY too much nutrients rn. Your plants are hardly/not really in flower and their receiving the nutrient-amount of Week 4 flower. Flush that soil or your plants get nutrient-burn!!
Yeah right. Ive figured that out last week, when i was wondering why the bottle sizes doesnt really fit the schedule.
Anyways thanks for pointing out!
Plants are looking awesome right now, no deficiencies and growing really fast. I think im going into flower in the next few days. Update again at this weekend.
