deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts, the new growing season starts now! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This fall/winter 2025 season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. I love sativas and I really prefer them to be landrace, with no crosses with other strains; they are generally plants that need to be tamed so they don't take over the grow tent with their size, but in the end, I can smoke them all day and be at 101%. 😋 In the last two seasons, I tried to germinate some old Panama Red seeds and they didn't thrive, today, with this grow already underway, I'm fulfilling an old desire; this is a unique strain that resonates in my ears with old school vibes, with memories of the past, and good times! Now, thanks to Zamnesia, I will be able to grow this genuine landrace sativa: Panama Red is one of the most legendary landrace varieties on the market. This Central American classic offers a stimulating high and delicious grapefruit and spice flavors. Panama Red hit the scene in the 1960s. Military personnel, travelers, and strain hunters were the first Westerners to try these buds during the hippie era, and its genetics were established very early on in the U.S. and elsewhere. Being a pure landrace sativa, it features thin leaflets, a wide internodal distance, and impressive heights both indoors and outdoors... let’s play! 😍 - I started by diluting about 15ml of hydrogen peroxide in mountain spring water, let it sit for 2 hours, and then tossed in the seeds, which were in the water for about 30 minutes. - Then I placed the seeds between damp paper towels with a mix of spring water, Ormus, Bio Fruits, and gibberellic acid. - All the seeds, except for two, germinated within 24 hours. Yesterday I put in two more seeds from the strains that failed to germinate, one of them is already sprouting! - At 48 hours, I placed the germinated seeds in a light substrate made of peat, coconut fiber, homemade bokashi, and rice husk, added homemade auxins to the hole, and covered them with a dome to keep humidity high. - After 4 days, the seedlings that had been in darkness saw the light, at night electric light with a classic 6400K CFL, during the day by a window light, totaling now 22 hours of light and 2 hours of sleep. - 7 days after putting the seeds to germinate, I took all the seedlings out of the "incubator," removed the dome from all the pots, the seedlings are already starting to form their first leaves and they look eager to live... we continue the game. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! ========================= "If you like euphoric, social, and creative effects, you have to try Panama Red. deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. My grows are mostly experimental, and sometimes the experiments go wrong. This is the case with my first 6 seedlings this week; I did a foliar application with auxins and caused all the seedlings to wrinkle, they looked horrible, I thought I was going to lose all the seedlings, but it seems they are slowly evolving. What I intended was to give a hormonal boost for root creation; first, I prepared a mix of spring water and auxins (100 ppm) and watered, then after a few hours, I had the disastrous idea of applying the mix foliarly, which was also an illogical idea since the intention was to promote growth in the roots, right next to the opposite of the leaves. I like to define my growing style as ruthless because sometimes I take risks with new techniques without too much caution, but in the end, marijuana plants always prove to be very resilient, and I tend to be overly confident, but the grows continue, and I just hope this hormonal overdose doesn’t affect my dear seedlings for the rest of their lives; I will take care of them! I can't go back now because life pushes me, like an endless howl. 😈 UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. One survivor, this seedling has withstood the hormonal stress that killed 3 of its growing companions, now it quietly evolves while waiting for its final pot. During the day, filtered sunlight, and at night, artificial light, to drink pure spring water... let’s play! UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. It's been four weeks since the germination of this legendary Central American sativa, and so far it's the seedling with the best development; this grow promises a lot, and I'm not surprised! 😍 I have one of the final pots selected, a 12L with great elevation at the base and lateral aeration. This pot is the largest of the season and will be awarded to the seedling that shows the best development; this Panama Red has all the chances to achieve it! 🌲 This week I've been taking extra care of all my seedlings, pampering them. I prepared a brew with spring water, my Bio fertilizer made from 3 types of seaweed, natural heather honey, and a bit of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea. In short, a multitude of micronutrients, vitamins, carbohydrates, etc. Additionally, I've added 15ppm of auxins in each watering; I'm committed to enhancing root development. The hormones, seaweed, and honey will be my allies in achieving this... let’s play! 👨‍🌾✋ During the day, I take advantage of the fantastic spectrum of sunlight, filtered through a window, and at night in the grow tent surrounded by white and blue lights, which mainly promote compactness and strength in branches and roots... the game continues! 😎 UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. Fifth week of growth and transplant week to the final pot, an old-school 10L pot with large aeration holes. For the 3 plants I transplanted this week, I prepared a very light and mineralized substrate; my intention is to maximize root expansion while creating the best conditions for the absorption of soluble bio-nutrients and the proliferation of microbiology. I used a base of light substrate, homemade bokashi, and coco fiber (inoculated with MM) in equal parts with a bit of worm humus; perlite, river gravel, and rice husk to improve drainage, vermiculite and zeolite to promote moisture and nutrient retention, and finally a mix of over 12 types of micronized minerals at a rate of 1 gram per liter of substrate (various types of clays, pumice, azomite, basalt, leonardite, diatomite, dolomite, phosphorite, wood ash...), these minerals, for me, are indispensable as they play crucial roles in enzymatic and biological processes and also ensure the complete presence of all minerals from the periodic table. This mineral richness greatly guarantees a complete and complex evolution of the plants, as after all, plants are animated minerals. 24 hours after transplanting, I did a watering with 1.5L of Bio Algae with natural honey and a bit of Ormus. The truth is I'm worried about the 3 seedlings I transplanted this week; they all survived an overdose of auxins, but I'm afraid that will influence the entire grow. The three seedlings are struggling to establish themselves and even show some strange symptoms on the leaves. I hope they react this coming week; I will continue to keep an eye on and pamper these little ones. UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. It's the sixth week of life for this legendary Panamanian sativa. The potting is secured, now the plant grows day by day, showing good compactness, and in a couple of days, I'll do an apical cut. On sunny autumn days, I take the plants out for a few hours to expose them to the fantastic solar spectrum; the plants appreciate it. I continue with all the plants using vegan brews made from seaweed and fruits, in an attempt to boost root expansion. Today I'm going to transplant the little seedlings into their final pots; tomorrow the playing field will have all the players ready to start, really, the autumn/winter 2024 games!... no mercy! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Nine weeks of growing, the last two weeks the plant has been somewhat stalled, we had two weeks of too much heat and low humidity, which combined with the high light intensity caused some leaf burn to appear. The plant was doing really well, but these are the things that happen in growing. Anyway, I declare my total confidence in the strain, the nutrients I give it, and the care as well. Yesterday, after a foliar application with stimulants, amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, minerals, etc., the plant is showing activity again. For now, it consumes little water, but I hope that with the next watering, I can put it on the path to success 😅 UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Ten weeks of growing and despite my care and attention with the watering, the plant looked like it was going to collapse two days ago, the upper leaves burning at a rapid pace, and I'm sure there's no over-fertilization; I'm afraid there are root issues and problems related to nutrient absorption. The symptoms on the leaves could mainly be interpreted as a severe calcium deficiency, but also mixed with symptoms of magnesium and potassium deficiency. On the same day, water consumption dropped to a third. Well, just yesterday I called the doctor, he did an emergency foliar application with my CalMg Bio Fertilizer, he applied it to the entire garden, and although it's still early to assess the effect on this plant, the rest of the garden is thriving without issues. Now this morning, I took the pot out into the November sun, to warm up the substrate a bit because the temperatures have dropped significantly. I also intend for the plant to take advantage of the solar light spectrum for its recovery. I am very, very upset, but I'm not going to give up; I've wanted to grow this strain for several seasons and I plan to do everything possible to bring it through, even if I have to extend the vegetative growth time as necessary. For now, I'm going to let it use up the moisture in the substrate and give it a couple of days to see if it shows recovery. I am hopeful, but I won't let my optimism deceive me. For now, the plant has radically stopped the degradation of the leaves because at the speed they burned (24H), today it would be a dying plant. But still, I called the guardian of my last frontier, "The purifier," a ruthless man with a large mountain spring water reservoir to purify the entire substrate, in which I have complete trust... Hallelujah! And if everything were to fail, I’ll repeat the seed even if it costs me my life 🤣... all for the cause! UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND HEALTH TO ALL! This season playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. ========================= Zamnesia: "If you like euphoric, social, and creative effects, you have to try Panama Red. deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! After weeks of tough cultivation, the plant is struggling to survive... A week ago, faced with accelerated degradation that was progressing by the hour, I decided to do a root flush in extremis, as I had no options left, even though initially I didn't associate the symptoms with over-fertilization, since I had been very careful with the watering components and other plants with similar watering were doing better. I prepared a mix of mountain spring water (pH: 7.9, EC: 0.22), acidified with a bit of one of my Bio Fertilizers, and in the end, the mix had a pH of 6 and an EC of 0.43. I started watering the pot, and when water began to drain from the bottom, I measured the EC and pH values of the runoff; I almost fell over backwards, the EC meter went blank, and when I measured the values in PPM, they hit the maximum of the meter: PPM: 12000... holy shit! I grabbed the pH meter and another nasty surprise, pH: 7.85, and I have no explanation for either of the two measurements. 🤦‍♂️ Immediately, I decided to flush all the plants in the garden with the same watering mix, aiming to lower the pH of the substrate and the excessive EC load. I used 1.5 liters per pot, I have 8 pots = 12 liters of water, and I ended up collecting 4 liters of runoff from all the pots, measured the EC: 7.5, measured the pH: 7.7, it was clear that all the substrates were too "hot." This plant stopped, after the flush, the accelerated degradation it was showing on the leaves, the water consumption level has recovered, but it was still showing burns on the leaves, so three days ago I did another flush and collected runoff of EC: 5.5 and pH: 7.55, still very high levels. I will keep taking care of the crop, let's see if the roots renew and the nutrients in the substrate mobilize; I will likely extend the vegetative growth until I'm sure the plant has established itself. Since I've done a lot of defoliation of burned leaves, the plant doesn't look attractive, but I hope this ugly duckling soon turns into a sativa swan... let's play! UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! After twelve weeks of torturous cultivation, the plant is recovering, and I'm going to give it one more week of vegetative growth. Despite all the ups and downs this desired strain has gone through, I trust it will give me a good yield. The fact is that the little plant shows extraordinary compactness, which will allow me to manage it well. After heavily defoliating last week, the plant has regained its leaf mass, and I'm just waiting for the metabolism and nutrient response to increase. For now, I'm watering with acidic mixes at low concentration and just the right amount to keep the substrate oxygenated. This week, I’m also doing a foliar application to give it energy... all for the cause! 😋 For the moment, since I have one plant in the flowering stage and it's quite large, I have this plant and its Thai landrace companion spending some hours in the home grow cabinet and other hours in the main tent. After 12 hours, I take the flowering plant out, move this plant to the main tent, turn off the home grow cabinet, and keep the game going. The lack of synchronization of the whole garden to the same schedule leads me to these pot movements, but I do it with enthusiasm. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! This season I'm playing in my main tent, with 8 strains/plants, in old-school pots of 7 and 11L. ========================= Zamnesia: "If you enjoy euphoric, social, and creative effects, you have to try Panama Red. deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! Thirteen weeks of cultivation, this Panama Red is progressing steadily, although it still shows some signs of distress. I've changed the light schedule to 12/12H for the entire garden, except for this plant and another (Blueberry Super Silver Haze), to give them time to recover. Next Monday, I'll switch the Blueberry to 12/12H as well, and since it’s the youngest in the garden, I’ll keep it in the vegetative stage for another week. I'm finally going to grow this plant and its companion Thai Landrace in my super bright homemade grow cabinet! 🤪 UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, clandestine, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 14 weeks of cultivation, and up until today in the vegetative stage, I think the plant is ready to switch to flowering schedule. This week it has grown 5cm and has strengthened, showing large and beautiful leaves, although it still shows signs of burn on the tips and edges of some upper leaves, this pisses me off because I have no explanation for it, but overall the plant is progressing with moderate but stable water consumption... let the game continue! This week two deep waterings with varied components, an acidic pH (6) and an EC of 1.1. Also, yesterday I did a foliar application to the whole garden with vitamins, micronutrients, and fulvic acids, to give it a boost, and at the same time, I added a mix for flowering, with dry amendments, so that nothing is lacking! 🤪 Happy and prosperous year 2025! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! One week into flowering, the plant is completely grateful for my care and fully recovered from blockages and complexities, now it’s unstoppable, fattening branches and trunk, also expanding huge leaves to capture all the light I give it... trust and patience have been the essential nutrients to bring this strain I've always wanted to cultivate to life! The plant shares a grow cabinet with another Thai landrace, and they understand each other very well, living and growing in harmony. While the Panama Red is in the transition period to flowers, and in order to curb vertical stretching and promote compactness, I have a blue COB (450nm) right above it along with the other lamps. As soon as the plant stops stretching and enters pre-flower, I will replace this COB with another one that has a very orange spectrum of 1800K, and the side panel, currently with white light of 7700K that complements the blue COB very well, I will change for another with warmer spectrums of 3000K with 660nm LEDs... all for the cause! 😜 Happy and prosperous year 2025! UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND HEALTH TO ALL! ========================= Zamnesia: "If you like euphoric, social, and creative effects, you have to try Panama Red. deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Two weeks into the flowering schedule, pre-flowering has begun! This week I've continued with the intense blue light to curb vertical stretching and keep this mythical sativa in check. Despite how torturous this grow has been from the start, with serious and varied issues, patience, faith in the strain, and a bit more vegetative growth time have paid off; the plant is thriving, big leaves are capturing all the light I give it, thick branches are holding the budding floral shoots, it's going to be an epic grow. deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Three weeks into flowering, the plant is living happily! This week I swapped the blue COB (450nm) I had over this plant for a more appropriate 1800K one for flowering. The plant is wonderful, with a great leaf mass, strong branches, and floral buds popping up everywhere. The plant has increased its water and nutrient consumption, now working hard to make up for lost time. UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Fourth week of flowering and there's still plenty of play left! 😋🌼 Determined to make up for lost time and focused on returning the care and trust I placed in her during tough times, today, the plant with a spectacular stature proudly displays its immaculate and thick floral buds, and I suspect this strain is going to show unforgettable moments that I won't miss. The metabolism, water, and nutrient consumption is high and stable, the plant looks happy in its old-school pot... nothing can go wrong! I'm growing this plant in a homemade cabinet with plenty of light and ventilation, this is an open-door garden! 😃🌲 UNTIL NEXT TIME... deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! Sixth week of flowering! 😋🌼, we're halfway through the big flower game! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! Seventh week of flowering! 😋🌼 I confess, I am at the feet of this beautiful plant that migrated from Central America to grow in my clandestine garden. Now I know I will love you for all my life! 💚👨‍🌾 My effort and whim to cultivate this mythical variety is now rewarded, as I tried to grow this strain for two seasons without success, but right now the fury of this tropical sativa is evident in the enormous buds in full growth, sticky and fragrant, the thick flowers are tinged with reddish colors as their genetics dictate... let’s play! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! Ninth week of flowering! 😋🌼 Wonderful moments tinged with autumn colors, the buds, until now hidden behind the large foliage, are starting to take center stage, the plant is shedding the older leaves while simultaneously fattening up those colas! This is going to be an epic grow! Yesterday I moved this plant from its home grow closet to the main tent, as with the harvest this week of two plants, there was space to gather all my plants in one grow tent, and as a bonus, I added two more lights, no mercy!... trading photons for marijuana buds! deFharo 🖐️👨‍🌾 Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic cannabis enthusiasts! Twelve weeks of flowering, and I harvested it after letting the substrate dry and a final day with 24 hours of light! 😋🌼 The buds are dense, sticky, and very aromatic, with a somewhat poor leaf-to-flower ratio, but after a good manicure, they'll be buds worthy of any special occasion. It's now drying, and in two weeks I'll start smoking it 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME... How do you manage to keep a plant with such a long vegetative period and, at the same time, not let it grow too much? Thanks.
deFharo
deFharo commented1y ago
Good question! 😁 I call my compaction key: Illuminate without mercy! But during the vegetative period, I don't use just any light; besides the proximity of the lights to the plants and good ventilation, I mainly use blue lamps (450nm) along with others of white spectrums (7700K, 6500K). In flowering, I switch the blues and whites for oranges, yellows, or reds. If you want to modify the shape of a plant, try the blue lights. I also do a bit of LST to shape the plants according to the available space in the closet. This plant had some issues at the beginning, and I extended the vegetative growth period to enter flowering with the plant well established in the pot. 👊

I'm a big fan of your grow. You’re doing exactly what I hope to do someday. I'm in the seventh week of flowering in my first grow, but my plants don’t look anything like yours. Your plants are lovely; I see them and come here just to look at them and imagine that one day I can have plants like that. My grow is also organic, but I still need to study a lot and gain more experience, especially in pruning and defoliation. Thank you very much for your response. And if you ever feel discouraged, remember that there are people who really admire your work. Hugs!
the end.
