Second time doing a photo so hopefully should be fine, New strains, nutrients and medium,
Strain: Gelato Sorbet - DNA Genetics
Nutrients: Mills Nutrient’s
Medium: DNA x Mills Coco & cork
Just drop the seed into water so I’ll update this in 48hrs ✌️🏻
22/02/19 - All look good 100% germ rate from DNA so far so can’t complain, really good quality genetics the seeds sank into the water almost instantly and had a 1/4” tail within 24hrs so it’s looking like a great start other than two have the wax from the seed keeping the leaves together but I’ve sprayed them with some ph’ed water so hopefully they are able to break through it without my help.
27/02/19 - Cant wait for these to be done as I’ve never had gelato before so I feel like I’m missing out 😂 but yeah other than I let them stretch abit taller than I usually prefer it’s all going well, new genetics/nutrients/medium seem to be doing the job.
02/03/19 - Just transplanted all into their final pot, just in time I think as it looked like the roots were starting to circle at the bottoms of the pot, sprinkled half a tea spoon of Mykos on each hole prior to the transplant & fed them 2.5 litres each. I was going to saturate the whole pot but I’ll do that next feeding.
06/03/19 - These plants have grown so fast, normally at this stage my previous plants have been much smaller, only 14 days old and got a 8-9 wingspan on the fan leaves, I’m really happy I’ve turned to mills as I’ve had no faults with them yet, I did see a slight cal defiency on one of them but this was my own fault not the nutrients, I heard I dident have to add cal mag as their A&B had extra in it, but as I’m in coco I made a mistake but I’m hopeing that it’s gonna be a quick fix and they will be back to normal in the next few days 🤞🏻
09/03/19 - the gelatos seem like their doing fine, had a few brown specs but nothing progressed and it looks like their doing good.
12/03/19 - started to LST/leaf braid today as their already big enough for it and should be switching to flower at the end of next week
Everything is going to plan so far, at the end of week 4 I will be flipping the lights to 12/12 because the gelatos will be ready for it, but the Og is a little bit behind but I’m sure it will catch up with them in the stretch.
Day 26 - just switched the lights this morning 12/12 as it’s about time imo as the gelatos are getting big I don’t have the time or space to let them veg on so the Og could catch up, so I’m gonna hope that during the stretch it does.
Haven’t updated recently due to work/getting my forklift license, long story short I passed and now onto the plants.
The gelato are looking very well so far, switched the lights to 12/12 half way through week 4 so should be another week of stretch and then we will have the flower production (my favourite part) I’ve seen some weird marks on some leaves, not sure what they are or if their a problem but they don’t seem to be spreading etc so idk what it is but they seem healthy imo.
I think they have finished stretching as their starting to produce bud sites, so hopefully they stay around this size as it’s the sweet spot for me, not too small but not huge trees, their still just under 1m tall.
Flowering is starting well, starting to see trichs so I’ve gave them their first feed with bloom nutes (C4) which is also 95% organic which is always a bonus imo and I’ve not grown anything using organic products so I’m anticipating to see the end results. Their all 3ft tall or just under which is abit taller than usual but overall we’re looking fine, did some minor defoliation and lollipoping on the bottoms 1/4 of all 3.
It’s been a while since updating as of work and also a broken phone but so far their looking alright, only problem I have is abit high humidity but they seem fine. (Night humidity: 40-45%) and (Day Humidity 55-60%) . I even clipped a nugget last week and the ash was thick and white without a flush which is pretty impressive in my opinion but I think I will be starting to flush in the next week or two.
These genetics are major, where I come from we call this peng!🔥 but in all honesty they look sick and they smoke well also, after a nice cure these will be some gas af nugs 100% doing again not even joking!!!
@No_Clout, If the smell isn’t too strong because of genetics is 1st thought... but can be if there is a little too N available you’ll also have less smell.
Even when I’m not having problems I always tend to swing towards N def, it makes them smell and taste better than having green leaves all the way through flower IMO. You could use terpinator at a high dose now as you’re cutting down on the rest. If you do I’d advise you to give a flush of the coco with plain PHd water then apply the feed directly after following with the same everytime till they’re done.👍🏼
@PharmaZ, I will do mate, their even starting to get a purple hue on the buds. The mad thing is, theirs not a big smell either! If I open the tent in the spare room it used to stink out the hallway etc but these only stink out the room, I’ve had some people say they can’t even smell it 😂 but I’m sure after a nice cure they will have a mildly potent smell.
@No_Clout,guess they dont say “mill pays the bills” for nothing 😀
vitalize sure is expencive and its going in crazy small amount if i rember.. anyway im sure its worth
@@flowerboy,thanks pal & I’ve only heard positive reviews about mills so far, only negative I’ve seen people talking about is the price of the vitalize. ✌️🏻
How did yours take 12 weeks to flower?
The strain is a 8 weeker easily.
I have one at the mo literally sitting at 7 weeks an it could’ve been chopped at 6 if I was desperate or had to chop them without too much loss. It’s coming down at the end of 8 weeks an that will then be not over cooked but it certainly won’t want any longer, it could come down at 7 easily but I’m not done flushing an wanna give that lil bit extra.
I’m using coco 600w hps with growers ark nutes. Seems odd that yours at 7/8 weeks looked like mine did at 3/4 weeks. Jus wondered is all as it’s all of your plants an not just a one off phenotype. The strain should be done in 8 weeks easily if not 9.
Still your buds look nice at the end of the day so I spose that’s all that counts lol.
Either way tho you could and should be able to shave a whole month of your harvest time saving leccy costs an also time etc.
@PharmaZ,I’m hopeing I will, should be just under a week of more stretching, after that it should be sound, I’ve still got about 1m in height that they can go before their out of control 👌🏻
Let’s take this over here
“@PharmaZ,I’d love to get another smaller set up but I think I make enough noise in the flat atm lmao but I am planning on cutting them all at same time, when do u think I should start flush?”
I’ve got a little tent 40x40x140 it’s got a net just the right size, only use a exhaust with Cofilter and small dehumidifier works well enough. Thinking of upgrading tents soon and using my grow tent as the dry tent ;)
Anyway back to the flush... I’ve run nutrients in coco until the day I chopped and had fine tasting buds, but I did flush the coco a few times. Once before full flower and again close to the end... essentially the peak harvest time which is starting now for you on this strain you can tell because hardly any pistils are shooting straight out they all have that “curl” going thats when your buds will finish swelling and start to ripen. The period after this last 2 weeks shows 0 more growth only thc ripening
