Ayahuasca Purple Grow (2019)

My choice to use soft touch stainless steel picture hanging wire as my LST ties is seeming to be a poor choice. the wire is not rigid enough making it make difficult to achieve the results I was looking for. Overall.. not super disappointed but I am working harder than I should be :p

First things first.. wow did i bite off more than i thought... this is my first grow I've been a stoner all my life but finally bought a house a while back and was able to start this safely in my own secret spot :) i am legal on 25 plants (i only have 20 total) original plan was to pull these baby's into four mainlines and see how i feel after that :) but holy much more work involved than i expected, "mainlining" i think is the proper term for my grow technique ? maaye with a bit of LST thrown in the mix. Any tips and tricks send em my way ! I'm new ! i also set up two big DIY CO2 bottles to see if i get much of a difference. my guess is i won't see much until i move these babies into their big pots and out into the "bigger" grow space to finish their life. thats a couple weeks away though. cheers everyone happy growing !

But first ! lets give the first time viewers an idea of what my goal here is, other than the obvious (some dank weed of course). The idea here is "mainlining" this plant to create as even a canopy as possible come flower time. Now that everyones on the same page ! We can all see were getting closer and closer the inevitable day where we split these ladies again (into four mains each) I couldn't be more excited about the fact that were growing upwards now ! amazon pulled up with my drip trays ! trellis netting ! and some measuring tools i required for making up solution. But the all time coolest thing happened this week ! something thats never happened to me before ! and it'll probably kill me to try and keep it a secret ! i got a mysterious email from someone very cool ! This was a Mentally challenging week, so many decisions to be made in the coming days with spring knocking on the door. But first ! lets give the first time viewers an idea of what my goal here is, other than the obvious (some dank weed of course). Tons and i mean tons of growth this week, I got ahold of a heater to bring my rooms temp up just the smallest amount (1-3degrees max/ 19c-21ish) But this is where I was leading on about how it was a challenging week.. heres the juice, I'm new and.. This is my first grow lol and having this many plants on the go and having to decide when is a good time to "top" ALL of the plants to start the next stage of the "mainline" is stressful to say the least. BUT we will power through and i guess just take and average on everyones new growth and take it from there (!drop a comment! Help a brother out if you have some knowledge here) Best guess is sometime this week i will knock these girls down again, look for big changes next week ! Week 8 or (Training Day) If you've been following along welcome back, if this is your first time viewing my diary welcome to my garden. Well its training day number 2 today ! tons of growth this week. When we get down to the brass tacks thats what made today possible... tons of growth. nothing else. It was a headache trying to decide when to train again.. making sure that each plant not only had enough branches to be pulled out in symmetry but were also long enough that the plant wouldn't feel to much stress. as we all know i stunted these plants pretty hard on my first train, so hopefully this week they won't miss a beat. Week 9 If you've been following along welcome back, if this is your first time viewing my diary welcome to my garden. First week of stage two training has been great. Im glad we waited that extra week to ensure all the plants had sufficient growth before the chop, because now even the plants that seemed to be lacking in the week prior have caught back up. Now my only worry is my new grow space not being finished soon enough... the tables getting cramped. Especially when one factors in that these girls are coming to the end of their life in the 1 Gallon airpots, and there certainly isn't enough room on the table for 18, 3 Gallon airpots... This week the plants certainly look like they're preparing to stretch again.. not much growth in the way of height.. but everyones stalks seem to be thickening up. I know this weeks photos are kind of weak as and I'm sorry haha Running out of room in my basement quick though holy. I hope the weather around here warms up for these girls to move into the barn. Week 11 If you've been following along welcome back, if this is your first time welcome to my garden. "What Have I Gotten Myself Into" should be the title on this diary. As you can see we've finally made it into the new grow space ! I know lots of you were probably starting to wonder if this new space really existed at all. First things first lets try not to be harsh..But I do welcome constructive criticism! either way this is my first attempt at using a full room rather that my 2x2 tent. This space is also in its Prototype stage. once this grow completes the barn will be under construction all summer while I utilize my outdoor green house. But either way let me know what you think ! the room is 11'x9' with a 9' ceiling. My estimates about water consumption after Transplanting to the 3 Gal pots was way past what i imagined. First feeding in the new space I fed almost 15 Gallons (and it definitely wasn't enough but i ran out of nutrients lol) This whole grow came about as an accident when I took some cutting thinking maybe id get a couple to survive and put them in the garden for the summer well as it happened ALL the cutting took root and here I am months later. what crazy endeavour this has become. Week 12 If you've been following along welcome back, and if this is your first time welcome to my garden. This weeks photos are weak (happens to every once in a while 😂) Alright, so these girls didn't miss a beat this week the room is really starting to fill up. Glad to see they really flourishing now that they've been able to stretch out and drink basically as much as they want. Compared to them being crammed on my desk. Also gave these ladies a bit of a haircut this week.. Not that any of us men noticed right ? 😂 The temperature in the barn is slightly lower than it was in my basement and I've decided to keep the lower temp because the Ayahuasca doesn't seem to be affect as far as growth is concerned (2"average per week like clock work) So my thought process is that if the temp isn't effecting growth why not test to see if I get a colour change? Im already flowering two mother plants of this strain and they've given me insight into answering that above question lol. I slowed my fans down slightly to bring the Humidity up which definitely helped with the growth this week. Other than that and pretty calm week in garden, which is nice everything seems to be running smoothly. Canopy coverage on the first table is basically the only thing holding this operation back.. i set the frog a little to high on that end of the room. But like I've always said this room is in its prototype stages. lots of equipment to add.. just to broke to pull it off just yet. Couldn't be more excited to say I have been back at work this week so I should be able to pick up my dehumidifier hopefully soon. My ability to manage the humidity to a finer degree has been hampered the room slightly so far but nothing to extreme, but I will certainly be needing it in the coming month. First things up this week I'm going to start changing up my "Diaries Structure" I feel like these days theres so much going on with the breeding of cannabis plants / the hybridization of the cannabis industry that from now on ill be adding in any information i can find about the lineage of the plants in these diaries. So the story goes "The Farm" received a gift of these Red River Delta seeds some years ago. When grown out these incredibly beautiful purple and ruby red plants were a revelation. We then crossed it with their Master Kush and created the perfect strain. I'm sure some would argue its prefect indica lineage but I'm not hear to debate that. Im simply here to say its an INCREDIBLE plant, and I would highly recommend it to any grower! This week we had some warmer weather, which brings up concerns about my summer run and A/C but shouldn't have to worry to much about this crop should still fall in mother natures sweet spot for me. But an A/C has certainly made its way onto the "shopping list" when i can afford to pick one up. Starting to get pretty hairy in here these days, the girls seem very happy. I lollipopped these girls right down the other day, the loved it.. as soon as I pulled the water leaves the hairs started doubling in length. In other grow room news if you follow me on instagram (^ The Link in up There ^) I purchased two Exhale XL home grown CO2 bags to try out before I decide if a tank is a more adequate option. All the paper work on them says the XL bags will do a 6x6 space so hopefully by using two in my space I hopefully will get a decent response from the plants. Colours should start to really deepen soon.. if these plants react similarly to the two i flowered earlier this year. which I'm curious to see.. because of the heat difference between the two grows. other than that things are running smoothly. As you can obviously seen in these photos.. these plants exploded over the last few weeks of flowering.. the colas may not be the tallest.. but they're fat and juicy nun the less. as well as all the lower bud sites are large and in charge.. they may not have stacked at the ends of the branches but i do believe ill get a great yield from this room. Next thing I'm sure everyone has noticed is how my scog didn't completely fail...BUT it did kind of suck LOL. just wasn't enough to keep everyone up...BUT we haven't broken any branches yet they're just laying down on one of the tables. oh well lesson learned, and I'm new so what can I expect from my third grow ever.. and my first attempt in a room I built. Next round Should be way better.. two levels of Trellis net and get rid of my homebuilt table and transition into a Bucket System ! hopefully... as long as funding holds up lol. Next topic id like to mention is how this room Differed from my tent grow with this strain earlier this year that I never posted on GrowDiaries only on my instagram (@Cariboo_OG). The Difference being the Temperature ! I definitely need to pick up an A/C unit for the barn if I ever want to grow in here in the summer... The temps in the tent got no higher than 23 degrees celsius and no lower than 16 which produced an incredibly darker plant & flower ! and the barn has almost gotten to the point of serious problem.. running up in the 38celcius one day.. lucky i caught it in time but the plants definitely didn't enjoy it. and the flowers on the barn plants are much greener.. but much bigger. as well i noticed the stalks on the barn plants are starting to turn red now.. so hopefully in this last week i can keep the Temps as low as possible and they'll darken up a bit more for me 🙏 The Last 2 weeks have been nothing but Water.. flush almost complete..starting to get crispy..she is a little temperamental about overfeeding..but who am i to judge there were a lot of things to change after this run is complete. Hand watered these on a stool with a hand pump and a SOLO cup..feeding them every second day usually around ten gallons if anyone want to give me their thoughts on this paragraph..leave a comment. safe to say this round was labor intensive LOL Have a question drop me a comment. Still having a hard time understanding how crispy these girls got when I haven't feed them a drop of nutrient in over 4 weeks. I knew it was a temperamental stress so i stopped early in my feed regiment but still ended up with a crispy garden. oh well I'm still happy. We got a few colder days this week which was nice and I do believe it shows.. the flowers really started to darken up as well as the remaining leaves. 72 hours of darkness, then the chop.. and ill start the dry and cure. Wrapping up the Ayahuasca run has been bitter sweet.. for all my screw ups, miscalculations, and plain old lack of experience id like to think this room turned out pretty good. For a room with zero temperature control.... and a few days of +38degreeC weather these plant handled it like a champs.. I won't be running anything in this room again until i have complete control over the environment which might take a while. These plants were harvested 70 days into flower. They were chopped and hung for 12 days when i snapped a branch and decided it was time to trim them up and started curing in the jars.. burping daily for a week so far. This Plant harvested in the photos was one of the larger plants in the room.. obviously a lot came out of this room... more than i was expecting but not all the plants were equal. The cardboard tray i used to weigh everything weighs 1.5 OZ' Lots of Learning to do, but this is only the second time I've ever grown a cannabis plant ! so I'm just going to come out and say it...
