purpleme 🌱 Week 2: VPD Chaos, Light Optimization & Nutrient Update Goal: Stable Veg Conditions for the #CannabisCup Candidates! ⚡ Highlight of the Week ✅ Light Perfection Achieved! PPFD: 450–550 μmol/m²/s (middle 550, outside 450) due to the tilt of the LED panels → even lighting (see picture). Lamp: 55% power – ideal for the Veg phase. 💥 Drama & Solutions 1. VPD Crash (0.27 kPa): Cause: Humidifier malfunction → too high humidity (RH 90%). Consequence: Lemon Cherry Salts laid down (KO Counter: 2), Radical Juice remained stoic. Fix: Humidifier reset + ventilation increased → VPD stable at 0.8–1.0 kPa. 2. pH & EC Management: Autopots: EC 2.0 | Handwatering: EC 1.6 pH rise in reservoir (6.4 → 5.7): Manually corrected – check every 2 days now! 🔬 Technical Data Parameter→→→→→→→→→Value→→→→→→→→→→→→→→Target Range PPFD→→→→→→→→→→450–550 μmol/m²/s→→→→→→→→300–600 (Veg) EC (Autopots)→→→→→→2.0 mS/cm→→→→→→→→→→→→1.8–2.2 pH (Reservoir)→→→→→→→5.7 (stable)→→→→→→→→→→→→5.5–6.0 📈 Conclusion After 2 Weeks: Autopots deliver the purest "Set-and-Forget" Veg growth thanks to consistent nutrient supply and no pH/EC stress. The handwatering group is still struggling with the aftermath of early Nutriburn (RIP Week 1 😅), but is slowly catching up.

purplemestarted grow question 2y ago
Spotted on 2 Plants Yellow Spots on the leaves. Not a major issue but i want to try my best that they recover before i send them into Flower.(+2Weeks) Had some VPD (leaf Temp 23°C, 61% Humidity - now 53%) issues the last couple of days and ramped up my light to 600-800 PPFD.

Everything is looking good to me. The yellow spots could be due to the light increase. The plant is only a couple of weeks old. Continue to observe and watch. It doesn’t need continuous tweaking.

purpleme 🌿 Week 3: Canopy Control Motto: "Airflow makes it possible!" 💨 🚀 Highlights of the Week ✅ Double Fan Power: New fan installed on the opposite side → larger internode length on all plants (previously only Chimera & Gary's Inferno - noticeable in photos from week 2). "The height artists in the back now have competition!" ✅ PPFD Perfection: Light dimmed to 55% → 450–600 µmol/m²/s. "Chimera #2 is now praying like a yoga master!" 🙏 ✅ Topping Time: ✂️🌱 All plants were topped Goal: More side shoots, even canopy & uniform buds! 💥 Drama & Solutions 1. Signs of an uneven canopy: Fix: Second fan → even airflow 2. EC Fine-Tuning: Autopots: 1.76 mS/cm (↓ 0.24 for stress-free growth). Handwatering: 1.4 mS/cm (↓ 0.2 for a gentle boost).

purpleme 🌿 Week X: CO2 Revolution, Light Lessons & LST Kickoff Motto: "More light ≠ more yield… but more CO2? 🤔" 🚀 Highlights of the Week ✅ CO2 Meter in Action! 600–800 ppm in half-day test → Confirmed: Light can now be controlled more precisely! "Finally data instead of guessing!" 📊 ✅ LST Kickoff with Autopots: First gentle bends → bushy side branches on the way. "Radical Juice is already dancing the limbo!" 💃 💥 Drama & Solutions Light Overkill (700–900 PPFD): Symptoms: Small brown spot on the Chimera, slight curling on Jack Murphy. Fix: Light set to 70% (600–800 PPFD) → Immediate stop of stress. Lights hung higher → More even lighting + slight reduction in PPFD. Grew about 20cm this week, but just adjusted the lights today. 😵 Otherwise, they're doing great and drinking plenty. With a bit of luck, under canopy light will reach the bloom stage as well. We are chilling.

purpleme 🌿 Week 5: CO₂ Leak, LST Marathon & Flowering Countdown Motto: "When the door is leaky, CO₂ escapes – but not our patience!" 🚪💨 🚀 Highlights ✅ LST for everyone! Every plant bent & secured → Bushy side shoots on the way. ✅ CO₂ leak sealed: Sealing all gaps + door barrier “Bye-bye, 400-ppm fresh air flirt!” 💥 Drama & Solutions 1. CO₂ exodus through door gap: Symptom: CO₂ levels dropped to 400 ppm (despite plant respiration). Cause: Draft through lower door gap → CO₂-blown air. Fix: Seal tape on door frame + sack in front of the door as a barrier. Room pressure test with incense sticks (no draft visible anymore!). 2. VPD chaos & wind stress: Heater off → VPD 0.4 kPa + fan overkill → Mini leaves on 2 plants. Solution: Heater on → VPD 0.8–1.1 kPa. Fan speed reduced + plants turned out of the airflow. 🔬 Experiments & Learnings LST intensive course: Autopots reacted faster to bends (stable root zone). Handwater plants took 2 days longer for recovery. CO₂ management: Rule of thumb: “The tighter the space, the higher the CO₂ without additional equipment!” 🔮 Next Steps Flowering start: As soon as 5/6 plants reach target size → switch to 12/12. CO₂ monitoring: Daily checks with new measuring device. Hashtags: #CO2Houdini #LSTMasterclass #SealedForSuccess Summary Despite draft chaos, a solid 7/10 week – thanks to quick countermeasures and LST finesse! 🌟 PS: The door is now closed, but the learning curve remains open… 😉

purpleme Too fast growth, as I couldn't control the water supply with the Autopots and didn't get into the generative stage. As a result, the canopy is now a bit uneven, and I have to hang the lamp higher more often because the Jack Murphy felt too comfortable.

purpleme Radical Juice had a few spider webs at the beginning of the week. I isolated them right away and I'm watching to see if they can still make it across the finish line. It's a very light infestation that's hardly noticeable, which is why I still have hope of being able to process it further.

purpleme The Isolated Radical Juice has shaken off the spider mites well due to the cooler ambient temperature and higher humidity. However, I find it too risky to put it back with the others. Otherwise, everyone is doing well. Lemon Cherry Salts is quite leafy and lags a bit in smell and frost. Chimera#2 is more like its parent white truffle with a slight red wine note. Radical Juice (Autopot) smells fruity and delicious. In the last grow, it had wonderful grapefruit terps. This time, however, it’s more sweet and not as fruity. The isolated one, on the other hand, is a bit louder and therefore also more dominant in the fruity direction, but still not grapefruit. Jack Murphy smells like garlic that isn't ripe yet, with a hint of skunk.

purpleme Lemon Cherry Salts is thick, but leafy and not particularly frosty. Additionally, its smell is still quite subtle. But it could still turn into something great. The Radical Juice in the Autopots is slowly leaning, as the buds are becoming too heavy for the stems. Here too, the smell still has room for improvement. The other RJ, on the other hand, has a sweet scent with some fruity and minty undertones. It is also more intense in smell than its sister. Now onto the two stinkers. Jack Murphy was already very loud last week. However, it has since stepped it up a bit, and the garlic and onion smell is not for the faint of heart anymore. It has consistently performed well, and now this smell is crazy. And then there's Chimera #2. Always a bit weak in growth and flowering. However, it is always stable, covered in trichomes, and also has a good smell. If it maintains its performance and adds a bit more smell + frost, I will be really satisfied. Unique terps as described last week. Next week, I’ll take pictures of the lower buds (near the undercanopy lights), as some interesting effects have shown up here.

purpleme Temperatures are currently hard to regulate. That's why I will gradually lower the light. A Radical Juice is ready with about 10% amber-colored trichomes. The other one is still at 0%. Chimera and Jack Murphy are doing great. I'm already satisfied with both and they should be able to continue maturing for another 1-2 weeks according to the information.

purpleme Temperatures & humidity are back to normal. Lemon Cherry Salts continues to improve, but visually it's clearly inferior to the others. The terps are coming out a bit more noticeable. I have hope that it will surprise me at the end. The last Radical Juice already has some amber-colored trichomes and will be drying in the next few days. I've added a further zoomed-in shot because I always thought they looked much better in real life.

Geruch: Sie riecht sehr interessant.

Hash plant

Grow: Yield has become relatively good. I had long thought that it would bring the least weight to the scale. However, this turned out to be false as it has grown very dense. This made it somewhat susceptible to mold and it also had a brief minimal pest infestation, which was very easily remedied with suitable environmental influences. Appearance: Calyx to leaf ratio is okay. It didn't require too much work, but was very hard. It was very sporadically covered with trichomes and I was really worried about the bag appeal. However, the drying did her quite well and she didn't come out looking too bad. Smell: A lot of lemon, slight cherry, and somewhat mineral actually. So the name is very well chosen. The lemon is rather artificial. Smell strength 7/10 Aroma and effect to follow There are certainly better LSG crosses

purpleme Here’s the summary of this grow Half coconut and soil I can only recommend well mixed. It was a bit labor-intensive until the end, as these layers have such different properties. Autopot vs manual watering It may be that the issues mentioned above distort the results, but the yields are so different that the point clearly goes to the Autopots (+30%). My opinion on undercanopy lights: They increase the yield and quality of the lower buds with certain genetics. The yield increases only because the lower buds gain in quality. If the leaf canopy is so dense that no light reaches the lower buds and they are not lollipopped, these lights are worth it. I assume that with the addition of CO2, any PAR values of the lower buds are inadequate anyway, which makes it even more sensible.
