Placed seed in a damp/wet (not soaking) paper towel in a plastic bag (unzipped) and placed on top of my router (just warm enough). It sprung out just 3 days later. Planted her stem down, about a 1/2" to 1" into the dirt in a small pot using FFHF (Fox Farm Happy Frog). Boom, this popped out of the ground just a few days later!
Transplant went well. This is FFOF (Fox Farm Ocean Forest), and I kept much of the FFHF with it to insulate a bit from the nutrients of the FFOF. Don't want it to be too hot, which is why I won't be doing nutrients for a while.
I don't think I've done a good enough job keeping up with watering. If the plant looks thirsty, you waited too long. The nice thing is all-in-all, when if you're able to correct, the plant bounces right back. I've done some light defoliation/HST just to clear out a little space. Runoff is at about 6.1-6.2 pH. I'm preparing for flip in the coming week or two.
I flipped and then I was out of town, so sorry for no new pictures. This was the plan upon my return AFTER I flipped. But this week is all about preparing FOR flip. Again, I was not diligent about watering. At this stage, the plant could use 1 gal (with nutrients) every 2-3 days. She was really sucking up water. At the end of this week, I flipped to Flower. I was worried about space in the tent since I didn't know how much the stretch would be.
*Note on the water 1 full gallon of water each watering. I have never had issues, you just need to make sure you let the soil dry in between to avoid root rot.
I did end up getting a dehumidifier for my lung room at this point because the plant was creating so much humidity. My humidifier basically never ran after this point. Maybe I should have waited to defoliate but it was fine. She stretched pretty good even already after flip.
Added a trellis mostly because of how tall she got and I don't want her tipping over. The bud sites are developing really nice as you can see in the pictures. I'm not 100% sure if I did the trellis completely correct but it worked out fine. I've continued to trim leaves as necessary.
Bud sites continue to burst, it's really cool to watch. She's starting to get funky for sure. Again, continuing to defoliate as needed. I also added a second fan that I got from AC Infinity (they sent the newer model fan for free after I purchased their grow system!) We are entering what I would consider mid/late flower.
I had noted in my personal logs that at this point, the maximum is 3 days between waterings. If you don't keep up with watering and feeding, there are noticeable signs, namely drooping. I use nutes every single watering and havn't had issues as long as you use the proper amount. Don't over do it and you won't have issues. You'll have urges to up the nutes but just be patient.
Getting ready to go out of town so making sure I'm feeding RIGHT before so I can minimize time between waterings. Remember, maximum of 3 days in between waterings and I will be gone for...3 days. We'll see how she looks upon return. Otherwise, she is bursting! Buds are filling in and the pistils are turning red which is exciting!
When I came back from my trip, she was REALLY thirsty, AND she showed signs of deficiencies. There were only 3 days in between, however I did end up having to water in the afternoon rather than the morning. Just goes to show how much you have to make sure you water and feed regularly. After I watered, fed, and let her go for a few days she looks great again. I'm topping out at the nutes and we're getting closer to harvest! Looking for pistils to all turn red and trichomes develop, turn cloudy and maybe even a little amber.
I will continue the same cycles for next week as well. Nothing too crazy to report for week 14.
I started to taper back nutrients at this point. In hindsight, I don't think I wanted to do that. I think the plant would have benefited from continuing to get nutrients but who knows. It also could be fade. She still gets real thirsty though so need to continue to water regularly. I still water a full gallon at a time.
Last week before harvest! I removed nutrients but in the future, I don't know if I would or not. There's a lot of opinions about it. Either way, she's looking really good. I'm watching for mostly cloudy and amber trichomes and pistils all red before shop. (Diaries wouldn't let me have 0 or no nutrients so it all says "1" but I didn't use any, just water).
Overall, this was my first grow but wildly successful. I am VERY happy with the product, it was very easy to grow, very resilient, and I didn't run into any issues I couldn't easily fix. The AC Infinity system makes this such a great set it and forget it process. I only had to worry about watering and making slight tweaks to the tent (VPD, light settings, fan settings, etc.). Such an easy process when you invest in the time to learn.
