I topped all the girls this week. Just a quick snip, leaving behind a small stump. They did not appear to go into any shock afterwards, and vigourously grew all week. No more new leaf damage on the one plant that was having issues last week. I think diffusing the air from the fan stopped windburn. And the droopy plant has picked it self up and is looking great! I’ve renamed it from Bertha(back right) to “The Beast”. From this point through till where I’m at now(6 weeks) this plant is considerably more developed then all others. I’ve also noticed that my front left plant, Is not growing as quickly as the others. All others seem to accelerate In growth aside from this one. It still looks nice and healthy and has super tight nodes, but is not growing as quickly as the others. All others seem to accelerate their growth beyond this one. It still looks nice and healthy and has super tight nodes.

Grow Questions

Two of my plants are showing some kind of deficiency or lockout. I’ve checked for pests extensively. I think it’s calcium or nutrient lockout. I’ve had issues with them having high PPM on the runoff. I’ll attach pictures to my week 10. Can someone help identify this?

Looks like a bit of over feeding (2.2 EC is a bit on the strong side) and lack of calcium. I noticed that you are using coco and not giving any kind of cal / mag, which in coco is a must. Do try to lower the feed strength a little and get some cal mag.

I enjoy watching yours grow as your only a few weeks ahead of me, vicariously i see the future lol. some what. curious difference's I noticed are: mine has almost no odor at all, I'm seeing amber's already and it's too early i feel for me in my opinion, but its only a couple here and there. And im wondering how fat my cola's could get by looking at yours. : ) which look nice btw. keep on keepin on kickn wing!

@ZoddtheDestroyer, Thanks! Much appreciated. I’ve now harvested. Biggest plant had 156 grams. So I’m quite happy. I’ll be posting updates tonight to close up the grow. I definitely had ultra strong smell early on. I atrritibute this to using the bud candy product, which is a terpene enhancer. I never seemed to get much more amber trichomes. That being said, I’m very happy with the finished product. Hits like a truck and after 2 days is taking on a prominent fruity smell!

so strange im growing Cali OG/haze rn and experiencing very similar issue. yellowing and spots on them and dying off all of the sudden. I did soil test and found my soil way more alkaline than i expected and only potash showing up in the tests, as in not N or P, Just K. for me it seems like my water just wont hold its ph and goes alkaline fast. so i changed to spring water instead of tap and added mild amount of N and P. with a solid PH of 6.6 now in my run off. however, i think it's too late to see any real greening up again. loving your results. looking mint.

@ZoddtheDestroyer, Thanks! I’ve definitely been battling the deficiency for a while. It appears to have not affected my outcomes. I also had one spontaneously throw out tons of nanners. So keep an eye out!

Looks great dude keep it up and hopefully you are rewarded with some beautiful budz! I would trust your gut with the defoliation. Should be fine. As for the humidity, do you have access to a humidifier or how come this is such an issue, how can we fix this? I would reccomend a humidity closer to 60ish at that size with a temp around 22-23C. I think 800+ ppm for nutes is on the high end for that size but I could be wrong, so I wouldnt worry about going to full strenthg yet if you feel its too soon. I'm on my first grow but tons of research and a green thumb, combined with trusting my gut has seemed to be paying off well so trust your gut too if its working.

Hey looking great man. I would advise to find a way to water to runoff anyway, my EC was off the charts when I didn't. Removing fan leaves to expose tops to light is a good idea especially in veg. 👍

Thanks man! I did in fact add a humidifier. A warm mist one. Back in week one. It has been pretty cold where I am, so the humidity drops substantially. 30% is as low as I have gotten. And then adding the humidifier got me up to about 36 or 37%. I’m now hovering around 44% without the humidifier. As for nutrient strength, I am still only at 3/4 strength of feed schedule. During this time I’ve seen vigorous growth and only a little windburn early on. And some yellowing tips, which was corrected by dropping my PPM on runoff to 1/3 its value. This was caused by me not watering to run off for the entire veg phase:( I didnt even do it in the solo cups. I was so worried about overwatering and then damping off, haha. I’m going to add some more pics tonight for week 7 as they have grown quite a bite in the last few days! I am going to do a 25 hour dark period(day 47) tomorrow to kick off flowering!

I wanted to add for those who might wonder. Using a 5 gallon smart pot with promix HP medium. It takes about 6.5-7L of water from dry until runoff starts for me. 5G of dry unpacked promix HP weighs around 6lbs. I consider my medium dry around 6.6lbs. I find I get 3, maybe 4 days from saturation to dry.

So I did a runoff check. And the runoff PH was 5.9. However, ppm was at 2800!!!! It seems as if every 1.5L of runoff would reduce ppm by around 1000. I got it down to 800ppm and now I’m dumping 2 litres of 3/4 strength nutrients!

I’m going to run several litres of ph 6 R/O water through with a few litres on the back end with nutrients. I now have a TDS meter. So I’ll have an idea of my runoff. I was watering in smaller amounts, cause I went from solo cup to 5 gallon. So I didn’t feel like saturating it! My gut says to get those fans outta there to expose the growth tips. If they were gone I’d have many new prominent growth points in just a few days. Just in time for flower. Thanks Bill! I appreciate your comment and advice!
