First grow: Pineapple Chunk & G13 Haze

nycrotix Transplanted from tiny soil germination cups to coco coir on day 7. Rinsed all the soil off the roots carefully before transplanting. They grew pretty slowly while in soil. It was normal potting soil and had some wood chips in it which isn't great. Bottom plant: Pineapple chunk Top plant: G13 haze

nycrotix They took a few days to recover from the transplant, but then starting day 12 they really picked up growth. Slowly increasing nutrient concentration and light intensity. PPFD is about 300 at the plant. Set the automatic fan to turn on at 68% humidity and 28 degrees (though it will probably not get that warm for a while) to keep it around those levels. nycrotix They're both growing really well! I increased the nutrient concentration a bit because the plants were more of a lime green, now they are a very pretty kelly green and seem to be very happy. The runoff EC is always about 0.9 which is a puzzle i cannot solve but they look happy. The plants now have a subtle smell. The pineapple chunk smells sweet and fresh, and the G13 haze smells a bit more earthy, like grass. I topped both of them on day 20, right above the 4th node when the 5th pair of leaves were about 2cm long. I made my cut right above the axillary buds (growth tips) in the joint of the 4th node. I nicked the very end off one of the growth tips there on the pineapple chunk but I hope it's okay. My plan is to ScrOG, maybe starting next week or the week after. nycrotix After topping, 4 pairs of axial branches grew quickly from the main stem. I used LST to grow them a bit more horizontal for a few days before removing the ties to let them grow up to reach the net. I tucked the larger fan leaves under the branches as they came up. I also removed the cotyledons and first 1-finger leaves since they weren't doing much and were touching the ground. I will switch over to 12/12 lighting in a few days and then train them under the ScrOG net. They seem happy :-) Bottom plant: Pineapple chunk Top plant: G13 haze

nycrotix I just keep bending the stems under the net every day when I water them and take off 2-4 leaves that are under the net doing nothing so it's easier for me to see down there and water. I switched to watering with a syringe because the watering can didn't fit under the net :-D Also I just tore one of the main branches on the G13 haze while bending it on accident 😭 I put it back above the net and taped the tear with clear + masking tape. The leaves started to wilt a bit and I really hope it recovers. At least good news, I can see some of the pre flowers!

nycrotix Growing slowed down after about 12 days after starting 12/12. I lollipopped the plants at that point and removed any larger fan leaves covering growth sites in the canopy. I also removed wimpy branches. Otherwise I've just been bending the branches under the net. Where the net was too widely spread to bend it down where I wanted, I super cropped the branch. The torn branch from last week healed just fine and the leaves were back to normal the next day. Thanks masking tape. Today the first pistils appeared! Very excited!

nycrotix Really starting to look like flowering now :-) I defoliated again to try to also get the humidity down but also so I could tell what was going on because there were way too many leaves in the way. I also put a dehumidifier in the lung room because it was like 70% all the time even with the fan on pretty high.

nycrotix I put them on the spider farmer auto watering system since I'm going on vacation. Hope it goes well!

nycrotix They survived the vacation though the pH was pretty high by the time I got back. But I adjusted it and they'll be fine now. Very sticky, maybe this will be the last time I defoliate because it's really hard to get the residue off my hands lol.

nycrotix Pistils are darkening and curling in. :) Pineapple chunk looks about 1-2 weeks ahead of the G13 haze which matches the strain descriptions.
