Introducing,,, Hydi!!!!! Hey everyone, This is my first journal here on GrowDiaries, and I’m excited to finally dive in and share my journey with all of you. I’ve been following this community for a while, and now it’s time to contribute something of my own. I’ll be testing out a new system I’ve been working on called Hydi A.D.W.C—an automated deep water culture hydroponic system designed to make growing as simple and efficient as possible. It’s built to handle pH adjustments, nutrients, oxy levels, temps and many more, so the idea is to let the tech handle the hard stuff while I focus on the plants. This run isn’t just about showing off the system—it’s a genuine test. I’ll be sharing everything: the wins, the struggles, and whatever surprises come along the way. I know things don’t always go as planned (especially with a new setup), but that’s part of the fun, right? 🌿 The Plan: Strain: Unknown from legal farm over here. System: Hydi A.D.W.C - A for automated. Environment: This one was grown in a 4X4 tent inside a grow room at a legal R&D farm. it was far from being sterile environment. Goal: Test system functionality, dial in automation settings, and (hopefully) grow some healthy plants I’m here to learn as much as I can and share real results—good, bad, or somewhere in between. Nice to meet you all growers! Time to get it out of the closet because if it will stay in there it will all be for nothing. For the past 8 years, I’ve been working on my life project. and It’s finally time to bring it out and hear what you guys think. My story started 15 years ago in a small tent(2X2) with soil. Over time, I upgraded my setup, and as an apartment grower, I eventually found myself drawn to **DWC (Deep Water Culture).** What I didn’t realize was that this would kickstart a journey leading me to create my own product. After years of growing in DWC and constantly refining my setup, I became all too familiar with the **pain points** of the method—pH fluctuations, nutrient mixing, water chilling, oxygenation, and the endless tangle of wires, tubes, and timers that didn’t communicate with each other. I knew there had to be a better way. Around that time, a bunch of automated grow boxes started popping up, promising "set it and forget it" solutions. But personally, I didn’t like the idea of a closed box, and I **don’t believe in a true ‘set and forget’ approach**—because, let’s be real, part of the joy of growing is actually growing. So, I took on the challenge of building a system that **I, as a grower, would actually want to use.** And after years of development, **Hydi** was born—a true **automated DWC system** built from the ground up. "From the ground" up opened a world of possibilities to improve and opportunity to build something great. # What is Hydi? Hydi is an **A.D.W.C (A for automated) system**. It takes care of the heavy lifting— - - all the sensors you need. (pH, EC, water level, water temp, light sensor, external temp and humidity, and some power sensors to understand if everything is working right) - - 6 dosing pumps - 500ml, 4 for nutes, 2 for pH +- - - Build in chiller - - Oxygenation without moving parts. - - 10 gallon - 40 litters tank. with automated fill, drain, top off - - one power plug. - - practical as it can be with all the tie downs, and scrogging poles so you don't hang to your tent. - - controlled via an app (obviously...) - - come on wheels. The design process has been one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life. And now, I’m excited (and nervous) to finally share it with the world. Hi Guys from Hydi again! Week 5 - Just flipped to Flowering we are still using A/B Nutrients for grow phase we will have to change them when we will see flowering going on. See you at next week !!
