A little over week 3. The nutrients are severely burning my autos :( 100% my fault, add a little overwatering on top of my prior mistakes and here you have it. I’m not giving up on these babies though! Lights still not dimmed!

Grow Questions

These plants are starting to drink more. Should they be getting more than a litre of water each time I water? I’m not trying to have a lot of runoff and I make sure to pour half, wait a min then then pour the rest so that no water pockets form in the soil. Any insight?

Hey Jayou, you're absolutely right about avoiding runoff right now, but what I can see is you're actually overwatering slightly each time ! Since you're in such small pots (3L pots, really?) you should be watering something like 600ML max, but three times a week, preferably at "sun up". when "day breaks" the plant naturally sucks up more water, so it's better for the plant if you "follow the cycle" by feeding in the morning, rather than at night. Beyond that, to make sure you're watering enough and following the wet dry cycle correctly, i suggest you use the "lifting method" to assure you're not over or under doing it. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Keep watering like you have been and if you do the pot lifting method to feel the weight of it when dry and the weight after watered. even if they are drinking more you could either give them more at the one time you will most likely get runoff or give them the same amount but more often. Personally I will do both depending on what the plant is an how it is doing. Just make sure you do not over water it can cause a plethora of problems. and as for the yellowing on your leaves you have right now it is a little hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it may be a Phosphorous deficiency. That or a pH being slightly off So make sure to check runoff pH to ensure that it is good and if it is then you might want to try to add a little more of something with higher PK amounts. Hope this helps!!

You got the right method about it , essentially what you want is 25 % run off every time you water . If you find your plants are getting thirstier then give them more water at once but wait extra time in between feedings . Its important to have that wet/dry cycle when growing this way your roots can expand nice and evenly without risking the damages over watering brings (root rot , nutrient burns , nutrient lock outs ...) This will also ensure your plant uses up most of whats in the medium before you go pounding new nutrients in . Bigger the roots bigger the fruits , just a little something to remember . You also gotta remember that mature plants can store water really well so they can whist-and a good amount of time without being watered . As it stands now I can see that there is some light water damages to your roots , its being displayed through the yellowing on your leaves eventually they will curl up and fall off and if left soaking wet you will get sepsis and that is just no fun to deal with in a grow . My best advice to you when choosing a time to water is to do it when the leaves are drooping not too much but a good noticeable amount . For the time being how ever to prevent further damages to your roots and plant , I would water the plants lightly until your medium is dry enough for a good watering again , you can do this by placing fans around the pots so air circulates around them helping dry out the medium abit faster , you wanna ensure that the pots are elevated so that the bottom drain holes can get air too so it drys evenly . You will notice the yellowing come to a stop and your plant resume to grow :) I hope this information helps shed some light into your grow ! -Happy Growing!

Thanks for the good vibes and advice! Much respect from Canada! I severely burned the 3 plants pretty due to too much nitrogen and a bit of overwatering in 2nd week. I hoped I was past root issues. I’ve been waiting for things to get dry down to the second knuckle and by feeling how light it is. I also got to the opposite of the spectrum letting them get thirsty and start to droop. So far in the grow I haven’ ever watered to runoff. The Biotabs website recommends little run off to prevent leaching out the microbes etc water only etc organic etc. The plants are a few inches off the ground on elevators in air pots. I have 3 fans, two toward the light and one below the canopy. There is at least 40/50% perlite in my soil. Nugs have been getting bigger and bigger by the day it’s hard to contain my excitement. I’m far from perfect but so far it’s a noticeable improvement from my last grow. Peace again and hope you check in when I harvest!

@Jayou413, hey Jayou, you're being a bit hard on yourself brother ! you're doing really well according to me, just a slight overwatering , i would be watering less but more often if you're in 3L pots. Check this link for the bag lifting method : www.youtube.com/watch , hope i answered your question, let me know if theres anything else that comes up 👊

Beautiful buds man!! Great job👍👊 Just curious what are you using for nutes it looks like the 4 assed monkey could use a little more Phosphorous hard to tell exactly from the photo but that is what it kinda looks like. Anyways great grow man!! Good luck an Happy Growing👊
