After seed germination using 18 hour water soak and the paper towel method, I planted germinated seeds into General Hydroponic Root Starter Plugs. I placed the plugs into my AC Infinity Humidity Dome using Level 1 lighting (low light) and heating mat at 78F. I let the seeds stretch 2 inches out of the plugs and then increased lighting intensity to 10 (highest light level). I let plants root in humidity dome for 5 days to root and then transplanted into 3” containers and then transferred small plants into my Covert 4x4 Grow Tent.
The 4x4 Grow Tent is equipped with a small humidifier keeping humidity levels at 65%, a fan that is circulating the air and humidifier, and the Growers Choice E200 LED Light. A digital hygrometer and thermometer is also placed level with plants that gives temperature and humidity levels.
Timetable:
18hr Seed Water Soak
- MAR 2 (11AM) to MAR 3 (5PM)
Paper Towel Method
- MAR 3 (11AM) to MAR 4 (10:30AM)
Humidity Dome Plugs
- MAR 4 (10:30AM)
3” Pots Transplant (Tent) - MAR 10 (2PM)
Water/Nutrient Timetable: (10 Drop Pipette Drop into 1L pH’d Water)
MAR 10 - 6.5 pH - 0.001 ml/g Fox Farm Root , 0.001 ml/g Humboldt Sweet & Sticky
MAR 13 - 6.0 pH - 0.005 ml/g Fox Farm Root, 0.005 GH Diamond Black, 0.005 ml/g GH Weed, 0.005 Fox Farm Wholly Mackerel, 0.005
Humboldt Sweet & Sticky
Week 2 saw normal growth except for Gush Mints S1 (2). Gush Mints S1 (2) has shown minimal growth. No height or girth increase is reported. All the other plants seem to be growing normal. The plants are still very immature and have initiated their 1st node. Root growth seems to be normal. There is no sign that transplanting needs to take place as of 3-18.
The only noted change was I dropped my Growers Choice E200 LED Light from 18 inches to 15 inches. After visually inspecting the plants today (MAR 18), I notice that there is slight rigidity and very minimal inward curve with the look & feel of the leaves. Hopefully this is because the light is a little too close and not nutrient burn. I raised the LED light back to 18 inches to see if that helps with the rigidity and curl problem.
Everyday, the plants receive regular water misting 4 to 5 hours before the light turns on. The humidity is around 60 to 70% due to a humidifier running 24/7 as well as a fan that circulates the air and is directed towards the plants.
Here is the updated Water/Nutrient Feeding Schedule
