Week two had been a generally busy week for me. I was unable to give the girls the love they deserved and we got off to a slow start. I had my light a good distance to be on the safe side and in the midst of all the stuff I had going on it took me a couple extra days to drop it down one they were hardened off. None the less we are going strong transplanted and in the 4x4 tent.
One of these babes isn't keeping up. I've checked all the essentials. pH is good, atmosphere is right, flushed and Fed. She's just a no go and there's no room in my tent for that. I'll gently pick her and lay her to rest in the green bin compost. Hahaha anyways....I've noticed very broad leaf for sativa.....we will see. A quick google of the strain grow shows really bad results. Maybe I'll be the guy to break the trend.
Things have finally started to take off. I've given the girls the attention and love they need lately. At the beginning of the week I topped and fimmed em and they've really taken well. Taking advantage of the feed schedule I find it can help with a plants recovery. I need to get another girl in there. 3's company but 4's a Jam! I've got a Durban Poison clone from a buddy and I think this is now gonna be the mother tent with some good genetics going into summer. Two Barneys LSD, 1 Paradise seeds Jacky White and a Durban Poison. 😁😁😁 Happy growing guys and remember spring is here and it's time to think of your outdoor gardens. This journal will only follow the Jacky White in the coming weeks when she gets into her own 1000watt tent after topping and cloning.
I fuckin mislabeled. No more blunts and starting seeds. FFS. Either way the leaves of a sativa don't lie and the shape is undeniable. So I take back any bad thoughts on paradise. It was a Barneys seed that went funky on me.
I love the smell of this plant. Every time I open the tent it reminds me of some old school dank ass weed. The genetics are to thank for this. I can recognize the white widow odor any day of the week. I'm planning on taking clones from this girl next week and perhaps flowering two of the mother's. I just got a new 1000w 5x5 setup and I can't wait to see the buds she produces. Stay tuned mafcks.
I guess I should touch upon technique here. I've used a mix of spreading and topping to bush out these two sativas. I mainlined her to start and pushed her over everytime I could allowing light to weaker internodes. Persistence pays. I've taken my max clones and topped along the way. Sporadically I decided to flower these two so I haven't changed nutes yet. I have a full lineup of Advanced Nutrients I'm very excited to try. Now for my favorite part. The stretch is coming.
These plants are showing the sativa lineage in full force now. Tight stacked internodes are piling up quickly. The growth this week alone has been pretty close to a third of the over all hight. My space for these is 5x5x7 so hopefully I don't run out of room. Full week two bloom nutrients were fed on the last couple days of this week and the results were more or less instant. Within twelve hours of the feed it was pretty much like Viagra for plants. Excited to see how this goes.
It was a good week. Outdoor temps on the rise is posing a challenge for me. I've been using the evening cool air to help restrict temperatures in my tents. The 600w setup runs at 24 degrees Celsius on a hot day. Even with my mid lights on cool down I'm pushing 27.5 in my 1000w tents. I will be running a direct line in from my house A/C when it gets turned on and I'm confident that will help. I guess this is just the tricky inbetween time. As for growth I think most of the stretch is done. These babies are 5 feet in their pots and about 4 feet of actual plant. A very nice change from my typical indica grows. Bud sites have definitely formed up and I'm really hoping to see some long tight stacked up buds here. My topping method has definitely created a wide spread foliage but it's not the same as your typical kush plant. Next time I do a sativa I will try to train the plants a bit more to open them up and allow max light in. Stay tuned.
What a week! She is packin it on like a mofo.. I'm becoming very excited and hopeful this growth rate will continue. Very common amongst grow journals and reviews of this strain is a lack of yield. I'm hoping to differ. Long colas have formed on both plants. With just two spanning across my 5x5 space I'm happy with the shape and size of these girls. I have nothing but good things to day about advanced nutrients, The girls are really loving it up. Hoping to get a better idea about bloom time in the next week or two. The package says 8 weeks but I kinda don't believe it, we'll see.
"Regardless of experience, all growers aim to achieve the same results"... I read that in a grow magazine recently. At first I thought yeah a big huge yield, right? Well ya, and no. The best quality? Of course but I think there is more. Always learning something new. Doing just a bit better than the last time. It's been a good week and I hope the progress continues. I'm guessing an 10-11 week flower...keep on rockin.
Jacky White is gonna treat me right! She's looking delicious and just packin on the buds. Trichromes are poppin up at a good rate and buds have almost stopped vertical growth...I think. I've seen strains start to appear to finish and then just start forming new calyx right on top. She's looking like a promising strain. She's starting to have a beauty fragrance that's kinda reminding me of a pine/kush/grapefruit aroma. I love opening this tent. Keep your stick on the ice and if she's nice take er twice.
