Chemdawg Summer 2025

Naturalist 4 potted by day 10, 2 broke ground, I thought one would die so I started another 3rd but both ended up surviving.

Naturalist All 4 going, #3 is growing really mutated but otherwise looks ok, I hope to have these outside by the end of April, I'm in Ohio.

Naturalist Taking out of tent today, getting used to natural sun before I harden off outside which looks to be quite a few weeks off as its been cool to cold in Ohio.

Naturalist Still too cold to harden off outside so on the table they wait.

Naturalist Started off hardening off, hope to transplant out side in the next week or two, weather dependent.

Naturalist Transplanted outside on day 48 after hardening off all week, these should start to take off as they have been in growth stasis since I took them out of the tent to adjust to natural light.

Naturalist Slowly coming along its been a cool midwestern early May week here.

Naturalist Topped Chemdawg #3 on day 57, #1 got berried by rats digging around, I dug out & propped up, not being sure if it would survive, its still kinda in ICU, the rest seem to be moving along ok, its been 60-70s days 40-50s nights & looking to warm up soon.

Naturalist Topped Chemdawg #4 on day 68, I might do #2 this week, weather has been warm here but the next week looks kinda cool, these are doing pretty good compared to my garden vegetables so far. 😏

Naturalist Topped Chemdawg #2 & LST on Chemdawg #3 on day 75, Chemdawg #3 has been taking off, still pretty cool here.

Naturalist These are starting to take off as weather improves though its been cool & dry here, #3 excels as usual.

Naturalist Started more LST on Chemdawg #3 & it ended up a full break/bend so I'm considering it HST, regular LST bends on #4. #3 is blowing up 18" now & getting wide, hope the space given is enough.

Naturalist Topped Chemdawg #1 on day 93 as well as LST/HST on Chemdawg #4 Chemdawg #3 has grown 5" at 23" I hope I provided enough room for growth at this rate!

Naturalist Started LST on Chemdawg #1 on day 103, storm on day 102 broke off the right main stem on Chemdawg #4 unfortunately. Chemdawg #3 is now up to 27" 4" up from last week. Added poles for support on all plants but #1.

Naturalist Not a lot to report this week, 6.25" average growth, 5" on Chemdawg #3 up to 36".

Naturalist It's really hot in Ohio week +90 all week but these are still growing like crazy, #3 is up another 5" at 41", at this rate it will be tall than me soon, defintly taller than knee high on the 4th of July. 😏

Naturalist Not a lot to report this week its been a bit cooler in the mid 80's, #3 gained its weekly 5" up to 46".

Naturalist I added a support pole to #1 today, these are still growing like crazy & I don't think they are stretching into flower yet #3 is up 10" from last week up to 56" now.

Naturalist Stormy week, #3 & #4 split at the trunk, I tied up & they seem to be doing ok so I'm taking it as some unofficial HST. 😁 #3 is up to 62", 6" more than last week, should be as tall as me if not taller by next week at this rate.

Naturalist These may be in early flower as sun is down to 14.20 hours here & they have a scent, no hairs showing yet though, #3 is up "5 at 67" so 2" shy of 6'

Naturalist I'm considering this the first week of flowering, sun is down to almost 14 flat hours, hairs are starting to show & there is a definite scent present. Plant #3 is up to 76" or 6'3".

Naturalist Slowly flowering along, stretching still, #3 is up to 80"/6'.7".
