Switched light to HPS for last week of veg. Also my LED's for my other tent (veg) came so until Friday I have 300w x2 led and 600w HPS (1000w@20"+LED's was to much light).
Additional supplements: (ml/g) .4 drip clean, .25 roots excelurator, .5 amino treatment, 2.6 multi zen, .4 nitrogen boost, 2.0 hydroguard. I added 1ml/g additional flakes over H&G week 4 schedule.
Additional supplements: (ml/g) .4 drip clean, .25 roots excelurator, .5 amino treatment, 3.0 multi zen, 2.0 hydroguard, 2.0 calmag plus.
Light intensity increased and now varies from 55 to 80k lux over the canopy.
Pruned and defoliated below canopy this week. Screen is pretty full lil worried and anxious what the next 2weeks brings in stretch.
7/23 now have 112/156 holes filled on the 4x4' net about 72% or 1.2 m2.
Additional supplements: (ml/g) .4 drip clean, .25 roots excelurator, .5 amino treatment, 3.0 multi zen, 2.0 hydroguard, I eliminated the calmag plus as it just has to much nitrogen. Shouldn't have any more calcium problems now that I am in flower.
7/26 I had an area running around 3" short rather than pulling down 3/4 of the grow I'm going to try opening up the area.
7/28 pulled and tucked today see photos.
I have sour diesel and blue dream in the scrog with the Acid Dough and they are 3.5 weeks older than the Acid Dough. Surprisingly the Blue Dream has been the easiest to control. Sour Diesel and Acid Dough are the hardest also Acid Dough represents 1/4 of the grow by # of plants but over 1/3 of the area. I will definitely be wary of Acid Dough's stretching next grow.
Additional supplements: (ml/g) .4 drip clean, .25 roots excelurator, .5 amino treatment, 3.0 multi zen, 2.0 hydroguard.
The tent smells good 😊.
8/2 The goal is to have 6-9" through the scrog at the end of week 3 flower I'm pretty close the taller ones are 6-7" through the scrog now.
8/3 took 7cuttings from Acid Dough "C" for clones.
8/5 could be more level but I'm happy.
8/6 another round of defoliating lots of branches just below the canopy opened them up.
Well my noob ass figured out how to add unlisted nutes so additional supplements are listed above.
8/8 Seeing lots of purple leaf stems added a touch of cal mag plus.
I will run Top Booster for 1 week then switch to Top Shooter for the remainder of flower.
I wasn't expecting the extra 10" this past week. The only thing that is keeping up with Acid Dough (out of 4 other varieties in the scrog) is the pure sativa I put in the back corner!
Acid Dough is a monster, even though the other 4 varieties were started 3.5w before the Acid Doughs they cover 6.5 sqft of the 16 sqft of the scrog. Oh btw the acid dough are 3/10 plants in the
Scrog.
8/16 added a second trellis for support. And some more Acid Dough bud shots.
8/18 💥 the Acid Dough's directly under the light are sprouting Trichs (small yet). They are up to drinking about 4gal a day water and eating nutes even faster.
8/21 nute change stopped House and Garden Top Booster and started their Top Shooter supplement. It must be super concentrated to only use.5ml/g next week I will increase it to 1ml/g where it will stay until flush.
8/25 I am experimenting again 😂 I am trying IR burst at dawn/dusk and increasing light hours during flower for larger flowers. And using monster cropping (flowering clones see other diary) method with super crop defoliation and scrog goal is 6-8 oz per plant.
I've lowered the humidity to below 40 for the remainder of flowering will also keep it below 75F during the day and between 60-65F at night for my purple phenos.
I am using a 250w IR lamp to signal dusk and dawn.
Room smells amazing. Will be updating with photos through the week.
8/31 Acid Dough is sporting Trichs even on the fan leaves!
9/1 one of the other strains in the tent is a sativa and has started growing again so I am going to abandon the 14h light experiment until the sativa finishes. Remnants of hurricane Harvey moving through temps ok but been fighting with humidity been running 45 in tent today (96% outside house).
9/2 still fighting to keep humidity at 45%.
9/3 still early (10 am) but the outdoor humidity has hopefully broken it reads 96% I know that is very high but it's not been below 98% in 2 days so hopefully as the day warms it will drop even more. I cycled the home furnace to burn off some humidity and am now back below 40% in the tent at 73F. Will update if I can't maintain it.
9/4 lowered ppm about 50 to 900 by reducing the bases 1ml/gal.
9/6 filling in this week!!!! There's one that is 24" had to do lower and upper photos.
9/8 sticky as well they are sticky! Lots of glitter!
9/10 tomorrow is day 56 of an advertised 65-70 day flower. I have filled the reservoir with pHd water and will harvest one cola tomorrow and then put the nutrients in. I am doing this to determine when my wife and I prefer to harvest. We will take 1 cola each week until the Trichs are mostly cloudy. When Trichs are mostly cloudy we will harvest all but 1 or 2 colas those we will harvest as over ripe say when 25% of Trichs have turned amber. We both suspect we will prefer the slightly early harvest for the energetic racey high when about 40% of Trichs are cloudy.
9/11 harvested 1 of the smaller branches will date, dry and cure for later comparisons.
9/12 buds starting to fatten.
9/14 few orange hairs still no purple.
9/15 cleared most of the other plants from the grow area. I left the sativa since she is bundled up and doesn't take much space I also left one of the short bagseed in a corner. With all the extra room I was able to lay Acid Dough over and crank the hps back to super lumens and lower some of the LED's.
9/16 The Trichs on 2-3 branches are at about 75% milky!
Not to much to say just watching Trichs.
9/19 added some photos with a tape for reference.
9/20 about a third to half of the buds have cloudy Trichs I've added flush water and will harvest what's ripe on Saturday the 23rd (my birthday 🎉).
"HARVEST NO BUD BEFORE ITS TIME" Good Book for beginning.
9/25 It appears that Acid Dough "C" is maturing faster than "A" or "B". Acid Dough "A" may need 2-3 more weeks I'm not sure but I will continue harvesting branch by branch as the Trichs approach 100% milky.
9/29 flushing for another harvest tomorrow. Added some pictures.
Plan on harvesting 10-12 more branches on Thursday. Will start flush on Tuesday or Wednesday. Buds dwarf a 2-liter!
I use only House and Garden (HG) fertilizer and additives in their DWC line and use the DWC feeding schedule provided on their website I have spoken with the HG representative several times including prior to using it. He took about an hour of his time for each of my three calls to understand my set-up and provide me recommendations. The most valuable was when I had a calcium deficiency (bronze spots on leaves) Alan, the HG DWC guru, explained that unless I was using unstabilized RO water (they recommend stabilizing RO water to 180ppm (2-3Ca-2 to 1Mg) to provide adequate pH buffering) that I wasn't having a Calcium deficiency but rather a Nitrogen deficiency that was causing a Calcium lockout. The same thing occurred on the clones I took from these and I immediately added a little extra nitrogen boost and only 6-8 leaves were affected! Anyway I'm rambling and what I wanted to do was explain how I flush.
I flush for 1-2 days before harvesting. I harvest by branch as they ripen so I flush multiple times during harvesting. For the first harvest I pump the DWC nutrient solution into a container with a lid (I will reuse this) then I fill my DWC about 1/3 with pH'd tap water and let it soak for an hour or so then I pump it out and dispose of it. I then refill my DWC with pH'd tap water and let the ladies drink all they can. During flush you want the humidity as close to 25% as you are able. This causes the plants to transpire faster thus making them uptake more water. I flush for 1-2 days before each harvest. For harvests beyond the first I skip the 1/3 fill up. After I have harvested what is ripe I pump the stored nutrient solution back into the DWC to await more ripe branches. This helps to ensure that they are all harvested at the peak of ripeness. Oh! I remember why my using HG was important 🤔. Alan explained that the HG line was mostly organic and therefore will not create a salt buildup. By the taste of the buds it is so much so that I probably could not flush at all.
So begins week 13 of flowering on a 10 week variety. as you can see the pistols are still white and nearly straight I've checked the trikes they are nice and cloudy so I checked the lower flowers and they were also Nice and cloudy however none were found that were Amber so I plan on letting them go until next Saturday. All of the remaining branches belong to one of the three original plants (acid dough "B"). You can see from the pictures these are getting huge and continuing to fatten I'm not about to Pull them now.
Still planning to take them out this Saturday. I will begin flushing this Wednesday.
10/18 added flush water. Added short video of my flower tent and some root photography
Uplifting, creative, energetic, euphoric daytime high with a sweet and sour pineapple candy flavor.
If you are looking for a more energetic strain than Sour Diesel but cannot grow a pure sativa I would suggest Acid Dough!
9/11 harvested 1 branch will dry and cure for sample. Cannot wait until she gets ripe!!!
9/14 5g from the 9/11 branch.
9/23 harvested 6 branches on Acid Dough "C" with 70% dark curled hairs and 90-100% milky Trichs (38.3g). Several more branches should be ready in the next few days.
9/25 harvested 3 more branches on Acid Dough "C" (12.6g) leaving 7 branches on "C" which are not ready.
9/30 harvested 6 more branches (94.2g). Probably have a few more midweek.
10/3 I know that it is customary to display the entire harvest together however as indicated this is my first grow and I have been smoking uncured weed as I have been harvesting as this saves me $17 a gram. The 6 jars displayed in the photos and identified by "10/3 what''s left" are about 125g the wife and I have smoked the rest.
10/6 harvested 18 more branches (114.7g).
10/21 harvested 11 more branches (290.2g) These last branches were left for the full life cycle (until dying) in an attempt to obtain naturally feminized seeds.
12/5 we’ve smoked about 100g of the 290 left for seed. We have 9 beautiful seeds with “belly buttons” so far!0
Every time I speak to House and garden it seems they save me money. They said that since their nutrients will not create the salt buildup the other nutrients do that I do not need to empty my reservoir and refill it once a week he said I am wasting precious nutrients I should instead change it every say 3 to 4 weeks or at the appropriate growth stages (end of: veg, stretch, mid flower) since at these times I am changing the supplements!!!!! Woohoo @housegarden.
@Fun_Growin, Yes the organics dying create an anaerobic environment where the bad bacteria thrive. I also use Hydroguard as insurance although with a 68 F reservoir it should be redundant.
Oh and I think it's about $4 USD of nutes for a complete 15g water change.
@Tazard1,
I live In FL and didn't have a res cooler, I'm sure my res was over 70deg
I keep careful notes and suspect it was actually the organic life dying that caused it... but that is speculation kinda..
I'll follow along and defiantly hope for the best 💪💪
Every envirment is differant
I went to Soil, partly from the problems, partly cuz I don't wanna lug around 40 gal of RO water every weekend 😆
@Fun_Growin, they didn't say you could do it with another brand. They said since most everything they sell is organic they don't have the salt build up that chemicals cause so I don't need to empty the res to remove salts. If you have slimy roots you don't have a nutrient problem you have a bacterial problem. Most likely you either let your reservoir exceed 70 F or you have a light leak or are using clear hoses. A good DWC should not be susceptible to gnats as they are associated with overly wet medium.
one of the other strains in the tent is a sativa and has started growing again so I am going to abandon the 14h light experiment until the sativa finishes.
Not seeing any weird growth. Buds are still maturing. Hasn't started using nutes again. Looks like all systems are go. Of course since this is my first grow I will only know if it works or not as I have nothing to compare with. Seems to me that if it works then you should get bigger buds. 2h/day extra light over a 70d period is 140 hours that's like almost 12 extra days of 12 hour days!!!!
@BigDaddyK, all the tops are +/- 3" of each other so far. 3 clip on 6" electric fans above canopy, 1oscilating 8" below and a 240cfm blower on the empty side of the 4x8 aimed below the air cooled light with 440cfm blower. Passive intake, carbon filter, with 440cfm blower. Could easily add CO2, I run the light cooling fan on lowest setting and filter fan too.
Tomorrow begins week 7 of flower. The Acid Dough against the wall (previously described its geometry) has probably gained another 5-7 inches this week!!! Will they ever stop? That branch has to be over 5' (only supposed to get 4').
Acid Dough Feminised Seeds by the cannabis seeds breeder Ripper Seeds, is a Photoperiod Feminised marijuana strain. This Mostly Sativa strain produces a High Very High yield. These seeds are ready to harvest in 65-70 days in Mid October. This Feminised seed grows well in Indoors, Outdoors conditions. This strain has Lilly (Queen Mother X Congo) x OG Badazz Genetics. The CBD content of the strain is Unknown.
One of the varieties that most surprises you this year. Acid Dough is the result of crossing a selection of Lilly (Queen Mother X Congo) with the famous OG Badazz. Two of the main features of Acid Dough are the high production of flowers and speed in its flowering phase. Violet tones in the outer flowers denote their sensitivity to cold temperatures, very advisable when flowering is finishing as it will improve the production of resin and final appearance. Its flavor is perfect, sweet and sour mix like a pineapple candy. This mixture will surprise the experts of European and American market since their lineage not come from the classic business lines.
Description from "Seedsman".
I plan to take 4 clones during week 3 of flower (week7). I read that since the plant is in full flower that a clone taken and revegged will produce a monstrosity of branches. Gotta try it :)
I did a lot of defoliating and LST'ing yesterday. I left the back corner tall for picturesque flowers (Acid Dough's are beautiful near the end of flower) hoping for a wine bottle size one on the tall Acid Dough.
Oh and with the LST I did I think that I can turn the HPS back to "super lumen mode" to get more penetration.
The Acid Dough are unruly they grow with the vigor of a sativa but with the branching and foliage of an indica. I have bent them over again and again and they continue to reach for the light. They stall out when they get to about the 90k lux area which is to much for them. I have one branch leaning from the base at a 45 to a wall 19" away then it goes up. The top of the pot is 15" and the top of that acid dough is 60" so that branch is like 52" long. No idea on the others as they have been bent so many different directions lol.
Oh I have added (4) 300watt eq full spectrum including UV and IR LEDs for the short and tall areas. Currently I am still running 1000w on the HPS so light isn't an issue.
I have tried FIM but don't as I felt it took to long to recover so I then started topping above 3rd node they generally grew 2-4 heads. I then read an article on super Cropping and tried that they went crazy and quickly grew 7 heads. I then experimented further and performed super crop until the stem above the node was mush. However, I did not bend the top. They quickly developed 7 heads like before although the main top was still dominate. I have continued this method. They are only 8" tall(and 5w seed to water on 7/19) but they are 14" in diameter and I find that if I don't defoliate they continue to grow wider from the bottom as the lower branches seek light. When a branch makes it to a new hole I let it come through and provide shade for the other lower branches. Once I let them poke through the canopy their stems thicken up quickly.
