The plant that was struggling seems to be improving now that I have top dressed the soil, but there is a funky root thing going on. Why would they grow up to the surface like that... so weird. The other two plants are nice and healthy. You can see that the 7 gallon pot limits the size of the plant by a LOT. The 10 gallon pot is allowing the big plant to grow like a monster :) I ordered a bunch more of the 10 gallon pots. I'll use them from now on.

I think I figured out what's going on with the one plant that is suffering. There was unusual exposed root growth at the top of the soil... I have never seen anything like that before. Anyway, I top dressed the plant with around 1# of black earth. I'm hoping this will solve the problem.
